such a gorgeous property ever thing you need and all high end items at no expense spared, great location on the park. enjoyed feeding the fishes again. we even had a new member of our family come along our dog Julie, who also loved it especially the tennis ball and extra treats left by the owners. the woodland walk seem to be improved from our last visit making it even better. cannot find any faults with this property, look forward in coming back in the near future.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Amberwood 42."

The lodge was comfortable and beautiful overlooking the lake. Best position on the site, it was peaceful and tranquil and we were lucky enough to have lovely weather too. We would like to point out though, and this was the only minor problem, the hand rails on the steps felt a little insecure but I’m sure this could be easily fixed. Overall we feel it was one of the best holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed in and therefore we’ll be returning.

Hi Barbara. So glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the helpful comments regarding the hand rail - we will get onto it. Look forward to welcoming you back soon. Lisa and Andy Property Owner

I would go as far as to say its the best lodge I've stopped in. The site is also clean and you feel very safe. The only negative is having to vacate the lodge at 10 am. Lunch time would have been a lot better. I will most definitely be visiting Bertie again

Hello Wayne. Thank you for your lovely words and I do understand your comments regarding the checkout time. Unfortunately as we have to be ready for the next guests, this does somewhat dictate the checkout time. Hopefully see you back again. Andy and Lisa Property Owner

  • "Probably the nicest situated lodge on the site."

I can't vouch for school holiday time, but our week was so calm, peaceful and relaxing with everything we needed, and suited my husband with limited mobility (4 steps only and adjacent car parking). The surrounding grounds were clean, tidy and well maintained. The pond was a beautiful setting and 2 seating areas on the deck meant you could always find the sun. We didn't actually use the on-site entertainment facilities or pools as I preferred the shortcut walk to the beach. A steep pebbly beach with steps, so shoes recommended rather than flip flops, but lovely views and walks. The dog welcome pack and towel a nice touch.

Thanks Hilary for the lovely feedback. So pleased the lodge met your needs and you have a good break. Kind regards Lisa and Andy Property Owner

  • "42 Amberwood was lovely."

Lisa was an excellent host. I would definitely recommend 42 Amberwood. The park was below par. We booked the location partially because of on site facilities, particularly the on site gym. My son is a competitive athlete and we exercise most days. Unfortunately, when we tried to use the gym, we were told that my son couldn't use the gym, as he isn't yet 16. This was not published anywhere prior to booking. The owner of Amberwood, Lisa, contacted the park for us, and was told that the age restriction is on a notice on the door of the gym (very helpful!!). We had two meals on-site. The first experience was very good. The second meal was really not good. We were seated and orders taken. We then waited for 30 minutes for drinks (eventually going to the bar to collect ourselves). The meal cam after an hour. We finished our main and the waitress asked if we wanted a sweet. I asked how long this would take and she told me "around an hour". Several tables were also waiting for a long time. There was no communication from waiting staff. When I asked why there was a delay, I was told it was because they were busy. In summary, the accommodation was excellent, Lisa was very helpful. The park itself was a let down. Very poor customer service and a lack of regard for customers point of view.

Hi Clark. Please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointment these experiences have caused you. We always strive to provide the best possible holiday for our guests, and it is disheartening to learn that Shorefields Country Park fell short of your expectations. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and I have shared your comments with Shorefields regarding the age limit at the Gym and your sub-standard meal at the Beachcomber Bar and Restaurant. I have also taken on board your comments about the listing for Amberwood 42 and will make sure it is clear that the Gym is for 16 plus. With best wishes Lisa and Andy Property Owner
