The property

The Cheesehouse is an exceptional five-bedroom family home located in Litton Cheney, a pretty Dorset village set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a short drive from the popular UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast, and the popular seaside towns of Burton Bradstock, West Bay & Lyme Regis.

Set within a delightful rural setting, this imaginatively configured pet-friendly property, with a wonderfully spacious games room and pretty gardens, is ideal for larger families or groups of friends, sleeping up to ten guests.

Retaining many original and characterful features, the sitting room is a large yet comfortable room with an inglenook fireplace and French doors giving a lovely outlook over the front garden with its stream and ponds.

The kitchen is a well-equipped room with a range oven, perfect for creating memorable mealtimes which the group can enjoy sitting around the large dining table.

For a quieter moment, there is a separate conservatory with seating looking out onto the pretty enclosed rear garden.

The bedrooms are arranged over two floors, with two of the bedrooms, a king-size and a single room with a pull-out second single bed located on the ground floor together with the ground floor bathroom with both a shower and a bath. The other three bedrooms are located on the first floor.

A spacious king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a large double, and a twin room.

The family bathroom, another well-equipped room with both a bath and shower, is also located on this floor.

The house is situated on impressive grounds with ample parking and several outdoor areas sympathetically positioned for you to make the most of your surroundings.

Stepping out from the conservatory you will find the enclosed rear garden with lawns and mature cottage-style planting.

A patio runs along the rear of the cottage with a table and chairs providing the perfect spot for enjoying mealtimes alfresco or a wonderful spot for an evening drink before retiring to the games room for a game of pool or darts.

The tranquil village of Litton Cheney is a mix of traditional stone and thatched cottages with a popular village pub and church at its heart.

The area is popular with walkers with lots of footpaths and bridleways nearby including the Litton Walk, with the South West Coast path a short distance away but worth it for the far-reaching coastal views.

When it comes to eating out, the area has a rich variety of village pubs and farm shops with the town of Bridport located a short drive away.

When it comes to eating out, the Hive Beach Café at Burton Bradstock specialises in serving fresh fish and seafood with the Seaside Boarding House offering a more formal setting yet with the same great sea views.

In an area with so much to see and do, you’ll be keen to get out and explore.

Popular days out include Weymouth with its beaches, Sealife centre, and historic Nothe Fort or Lyme Regis with its fossil-filled beaches and iconic Cobb harbour.

For a truly memorable and fun-filled holiday close to the stunning Jurassic Coast, the Cheesehouse is the perfect choice.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £500.
