  • "The property is beautiful, very well equipped and in a great location."

However, there is a damp problem, with damp patches on some of the ceilings and a musty smell downstairs.

  • "We all enjoyed our few days at the property."

The cottage was clean and the beds very comfortable. The games room was a huge success with the children. The large kitchen table was also very handy for board games in the evening. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. The Victorian cottage was a building of its time. There was a musty smell in a number of the rooms on arrival. Although the windows were opened in the day, there was still a faint smell in the evening. The enclosed garden with the large table was a good place to relax but the foliage needed to be tidied up. A thorny bush adjacent to a gate to gain entrance to the front door of the house needed cutting back. The light in one of the en suites was not working. After contacting the agents, someone was quickly sent out to fix it. However it almost immediately broke down again. We let the agents know again so they could fix this after we had left. These are small things which could be fixed. The cottage was also on a very busy road which we did not expect. However it was a lovely few days away and the children didn't want to leave.

  • "Sadly, the £2600 we paid to stay here for 3 nights (2 days) was not worth it."

Being an old property it smelt musty in several of the rooms, and the kitchen has a dark, gloomy appearance due to the decor. The downstairs felt cold, but baking hot in the bedrooms on the top floor. During heavy rain, the ceiling in the lounge was leaking and we had to place a pot under it. The listing does not point out it is on a very busy road and about a 20 minute walk, at a fast pace to the town. Garden gloomy with no sun, due to heavy Shrubbery/trees surrounded property. On a plus side the games room was good.

  • "Excellent property for celebrating a 70th birthday with family."

The children loved playing hide and seek, the games room was a great success, comfortable lounge and good size table in the kitchen for us all to gather around for meals. Bedrooms all had very comfortable beds and bathrooms spotlessly clean.

  • "House had everything we needed apart from a bread knife, rooms were clean and comfortable, games room was brilliant for the children (and grown-ups!"

). Only issues were with the plumbing - toilet above the stairs blocked totally once, they came out and fixed it immediately which was great but looked like it was going again after being fixed so we avoided using it after that. Water pressure - showers went off if anyone else touched a tap or flush at the same time but that may be to do with the local water pressure in general. Brighter light over the kitchen table would be nice but otherwise all good. We loved our stay.

We were pleased to be able to assist you during your stay, and will follow-up on your comments. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner
