  • "Great location and brilliant shower, however, after staying in many properties in Lyme over the years, not to find basics such as salt, pepper, teabags, coffee was disappointing."

    Also a shame not to have the welcome pack which was always such a lovely touch.. Disappointing. We had a broken blind in top bedroom and toilet flush was hit and miss, however, Lyme Bay holidays responded with a 'at least you have the other toilet!' the plumber would only be available after we left. If there had been 8 people staying, as the property is advertised, then one toilet would've been difficult.

  • "Great location for the towns amenities but the constant pay and display parking during the stay was expensive and inconvenient."

    Both toilets had issues flushing throughout our stay along with uncomfortable beds. The property does offer plenty of space with a large kitchen , bedrooms and living area.

  • "A well located spot for all the activities that Lyme Regis has to offer."

    The kitchen is well stocked although could do with more glasses. The living area is comfortable and there is an interesting selection of books and pictures in the house. A couple of things to note: there are lots of internal steps in the property, including between rooms, so anyone with mobility issues should be aware. Also note you will not be able to park anywhere near the venue, so plan well for carrying stuff!

  • "Really good value for money!"

    Well located served us well we had a lovely holiday. Was a noisy property. Suggest getting little window double glazed top bedroom Table and chairs in court yard perhaps Radiator leaked And toilet flush downstairs bathroom kept breaking Otherwise a lovely stay. thank you.

  • "The property is lovely, well kept and spacious."

    We had a great time and are grateful to have the opportunity to stay. We had minor suggestions to improve, but really details not significant problems! 1) The upstairs bathroom light wasn't working 2) Top right oven door did not shut, making us wary of using it. 3) The WiFi signal wasn't very strong - a repeater on the lower level would be much appreciated with all the times we sadly use WiFi when on holiday these days! 4) The instructions on what to do with the bins wasn't 100% clear - we think we did the right thing in the end though!

  • "This is the second time we've stayed here."

    It's in a great location, and is well-equipped. Last year, I commented that in order for it truly to suit 8 people (we were a smaller group), you would need a larger kitchen table and an extra sofa - that comment remains true!

  • "The Lymings is an excellent location for a stay in Lyme Regis."

    It's about a 1 minute walk into town from the rear of the property. We found the rear carpark and used it to quickly drop off luggage & pack up on departure day. The carpark is about a 10 minute walk & £1:50 an hour. The property is exactly as listed, the kitchen is well stocked with utensils. The 2 bathrooms were handy for a family of 7 of us. No hand towels were supplied just one bath towel each. Washing up liquid, dish washer tablets and hand wash available. 4 toilet rolls for our long weekend were available. No welcome pack left. The heating worked well and we had lots of hot water available. We didn't find the beds comfortable so we didn't sleep very well. The apartment is spacious so we liked this & the stairs were no issue. A barrier mat or shoe stand would be a benefit to save the entrance stair carpet being clogged up with shoes. A good base for a large family with children.

  • "This is a lovely property, with a great location."

    It was very comfortable for six people. I would not wish to be there with eight. It is certainly big enough for eight people, and would not feel over-crowded. However, you can only (just) fit six to eat at the kitchen/dining table, and the seating in the sitting room only just suits six people - you certainly couldn't get eight people relaxing to watch a film in there, for example. All it would take is a bigger kitchen/dining table, and an extra large sofa and it would be perfect for eight. The listing is not accurate, in that none of the windows on the front open (so, that's three of the four bedrooms and the sitting room). I expect it's because of the (very efficient) secondary double-glazing as it is on the main road into Lyme, but we'd have preferred some noise, and the ability to open the windows. The dishwasher needs salt and rinse aid, which was not supplied. All that said, we would return. Everything else excellent - clean, comfortable, generally spacious and very close to beach and town.

  • "The main front door into the apartment, when locked from inside is really hard to unlock again."

    It is the only way in and out of the building making it a fire hazard. This has been commented on before so please make it safe. The apartment is beautiful and a fabulous location. You do pass through another garden before you get to the front door which is round the side of the building. The photo of the listing is mis leading. The main picture is of another listing.

  • "Our stay in Lyme Regis was enjoyable and a great place to stay."

    The house itself was not exactly what we anticipated the garden is shared with another building and you had to go through two doors to access the house. The door handle fell off and we had to try to screw it back on. The house was clean however was a-bit dusty and the windows need a good clean. The house had all that we needed for our short stay clean beds, clean bathroom with towels and kitchen utensils. It is old fashioned but it does state that it is a listed property. The living room could have done with more seating as 8 guests don’t fit on 2 sofas.

  • "Stunning large house."

    Big rooms and lots of space. Great location for the beach too. We had real trouble with the first door when locking and unlocking. You walk past a beautiful little garden to get to the property but the property itself doesn't have an outside area. I would stay here again and I would definitely recommend to friends and family great property.

  • "Property was more than adequate, though a bit dated."

    Bathroom needs more(some) storage and worktop and less bidet. A couple of dishwasher tabs wouldn’t go a miss either. Keys are fiddly. As were internal locks and latch’s. Excellent location.

    We leave a supply of starter consumables for guests including dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls etc, and will follow-up with the housekeeper to ensure that these are left out for guests. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Great location for the shops and beach taking only 2 minutes to get to everything."

    The property is spacious with plenty of room. Clean and very well presented. It is advertised that only 2 of the windows do not open, but only one bedroom window out of the 4 open meaning it can get quite stuffy in the house. Bins were overflowing when we arrived and as the main bin hadn’t been labelled. Previous holiday residents clearly didn’t want to carry the bins out the short distance to the road. This required us to email as was unsure as to why it was like this. Having a washing machine is wonderful as not all properties offer this. Consider for future though whether keeping it outside is viable or adding a basket and clothes airer outside would keep it viable to stay there.
