  • "Our second visit to Tom's Barn this year and it was fantastic."

The barn is beautifully appointed, immaculately clean and very well equipped. The heating and hot water worked well as it was cold and wet for most of the week. This is a perfect country getaway spot, Carol and Glen were lovely and their cats were very friendly and came to say hello. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a friendly, warm welcome from Carol with delicious homemade scones and cream - a lovely start to our holiday. Tom’s barn had everything we needed for a great place to stay. A comfortable place to sit; a lovely outside bit (which, because of the weather, we were able to enjoy); very well equipped kitchen; a lovely bathroom and very comfortable beds. The place was peaceful and welcoming and there were so many places to visit from there. This holiday let was definitely one of the best ones we’ve stayed in ~ if you choose Tom’s barn you will not be disappointed.

It was just as described. Very spacious and comfortable in a peaceful location. The bed was very comfortable and particularly the pillows which I have a thing about as a good pillow aids a good nights sleep! We travelled with our dog and a bed, towel, bowl and treats provided are a lovely touch, along with home made scones, jam and clotted cream for the humans! There are plenty of things to do and eateries not too far away. Would definitely recommend Tom’s Barn.

A tin of home baked scones, homemade jam and clotted cream awaited our arrival, which was a lovely touch. Parking was simple, the cottage had everything you could possibly need or want. The beds were comfy, the central heating was fantastic, the shower was like one you'd find in a posh hotel. Carol, the owner, was so kind and one of her kitties came to say hello. The whole area was so peaceful, the birdsong woke me up each morning .. far more civilised than the noisy seagulls I have at home. We had such a terrific time, we're going back in October!

It is immaculately clean and very comfortable with everything you need. The kitchen is very well equipped and I have serious cooker envy. The owners provided food bowls and a little treat bag for the dog as well as a dog towel and small bed. Our dog particularly enjoyed the paddock where he could play ball. The barn is in easy reach of many beautiful villages and national trust properties and we enjoyed some great walks. The owners are friendly and welcoming and easy to contact if you need anything. We would love to visit again one day.

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Tom’s Barn."

It was very clean and comfortable, it was decorated for Christmas which made it nice and cosy. We didn’t need to use the log burner as we were warm enough without it. It was a great base for exploring the area, the single track roads near the property were a little scary at times but we got used to them and didn’t really come across much traffic, once through the village you were on main roads anyway. The only thing I could suggest was maybe a dish drainer or drying mat as if you wanted to just hand wash a couple of things there was no where to put them, everything else was provided including cleaning products and hand wash etc. Thanks very much for a great week.

The property is comfortable and convenient with everything on the ground floor. It's worth clarifying there's no DVD or Blu-ray player, although the TV's are smart and it's possible to log into Netflix etc on there. Being an active site it's not always quiet in the evenings but we were never bothered or disturbed by it.

Surpassed expectations. I only booked it because hubby wanted to go to the Fleet Air Arm museum and I wanted to spoil him for our 30th wedding anniversary. We didn’t have the best weather, but went cycling using parts of the south Somerset cycleway and found good cafes to stop at. Good trip to Lulworth Cove and had a fab rest day sitting out the pouring rain doing the kitten jigsaw, drinking tea and watching telly (and even the Fleet Air Arm museum wasn’t too bad!)

Could have moved in to be really honest. Spotlessly clean, everything required for your holiday. Peaceful surroundings and conveniently located. We visited Sherborne, Shaftsbury and Glastonbury during our four day break - all beautiful. The barn had a woodburner but we didn’t need it due to the excellent heating system - even though it was cold outside. Our very old dog Tom was catered for too. Welcome pack for him and for us. On our arrival we found freshly made scones, jam and clotted cream along with some milk. A basket of chocolate, teas and cereal. As it was at Christmas time it was nicely decorated with a tree and even Christmas Crackers on the table. We spoke with the owner a couple of times who was welcoming and very helpful. Plenty of information was left in the barn. We would certainly book again.

Went there for a week with my new partner and it was the break I needed but didn't know it. Looks pretty much as it does in the pictures and I hope it stays like this as we had a lovely time. Main bed was comfortable, blind made the room as dark as it could be, very little noise as you are only in a small cluster of properties. They've done their best to think of everything that you might need and with the range we enjoyed cooking even though on holiday and didn't plan to. Scones, were very welcome after the long journey and I even managed to save some of the home made jam for my toast in the morning, delicious. Thanks again Carol and Glen

Karen was warm and welcoming and even left us some home made scones, cream and jam and a welcome pack for our dog, on our arrival. We slept like logs in the comfy beds as it was so peaceful. I would give 10/10 however the wi fi was a bit patchy and we could only watch Netflix in the double bedroom which was a bit of a shame. Other than that it was perfect and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet break in the Somerset countryside.

It is conveniently located yet in a peaceful rural location and the perfect base from which to explore Somerset. There were a number of interesting places to visit within easy reach (National Trust etc), a very nice "farm shop" / bistro close by and the coast is not too far away either. The well equipped accommodation was very comfortable and the thoughtful welcome pack was much appreciated too.
