  • "I expected a classic cottage, this is a very well appointed and comfortable garden room with plenty of equipment."

Everything was clean and well maintained, and a supply of basics was provided A heated towel rail would be a welcome addition. The garden is lovely, but not secure and we were asked only to take the dog out on a lead, although the one next door roamed freely.. We wanted to walk so had to drive quite a long way to reach the routes, our fault, we should have researched the area more thoroughly. The closest beaches are not open to dogs in the summer months. Pubs locally had limited opening hours for food and needed to be booked well in advance. .

I’m pleased you had a good holiday. I’m sorry that you didn’t feel you could do the hundreds of walks on our doorstep but I’m guessing you had specific walks further away that you were interested in. There is a dog beach at West Bay, our closest beaches that is open all year round. Yes all the pubs/restaurants get booked up in the popular Summer months. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "A lovely, quiet location."

A cosy, welcoming (but not pretentious) cabin. Based on the outskirts of a beautiful village and within easy reach of walks, hills, pubs, beaches. Clean and comfortable inside and perfectly dark at night.

  • "The cottage would be better described as a wooden cabin BUT it’s set in Idyllic surroundings perfect if you have pets."

Our garden was an Orchard and plenty of space for our dog to play, hide and wander. The cottage was exceptionally clean, well maintained, with every facility that would make for a perfect visit. I have nothing negative to say about this property, its surroundings and would definitely go back there again. I gave a 4 for comfort, possibly a little bit mean as we are use to a super king bed at home and this was a double so took us a little time to get use to it. Other than that it was straight 5’s

I’m pleased you had such a good holiday. Just to say that the bed is a king size but I appreciate it’s not a super king size. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "We received a warm welcome from the Owner, Claire, and the directions given to us were easy to follow."

We found the cottage was just what we were looking for, and it was a good base from which to see the attractions of West Dorset. The rural setting with a wood next door mean't we had a deer visit the garden each evening and morning which was wonderful. A very enjoyable holiday.

  • "We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Sawmill Cottage."

It is well equipped with very comfortable beds and is tranquil. The owner greeted us soon after arriving and was contactable if we needed anything. A welcome pack of milk, tea and locally made biscuits was much appreciated. Excellent access to the coast and countryside of West Dorset. We will be back!

Very friendly helpful owner nearby. Would certainly like to return at some point. PS . Re top question: I don't "recommend" but would report satisfaction with Sykes if asked.

  • "Lovely cabin with beautiful surroundings, nice garden and very peaceful."

All amenities working great, even has a coffee machine. Claire introduced herself upon arrival, lovely lady. Quick chat then pretty much left to ourselves and 2 dogs who loved the area. Wifi is connected to the main house but had no problems running the usual tech as signal was good.. overall a lovely stay, shame it goes so quick!
