  • "A lovely, clean, secure and well presented property."

It was well equipped for a family stay, as well as being in an excellent location for the beach and local amenities. Excellent for myself and my two children (11 and 15 years old), and a great base for exploring Swanage and the local area. Would highly recommend this property, and consider staying there again in the future.

Hello Laura, Thank you for your lovely feedback and comments. It is great when people comment that their children have also enjoyed Swanage and the apartment. It is also so good to hear that when visiting Swanage you would stay again. Kind Regards John and Rebecca Property Owner

  • "Fantastic property, nicely stylish and very comfortable."

Great location for the beach and other local attractions . Nice to be just a little away from the busy end of town . Would highly recommend.

Hello Susan, Thank you for your kind comments and feedback. It is lovely being at the less busy end and still by the beach. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Kind Regards John and Rebecca. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely holiday in Swanage."

The apartment was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed. The beach and town were both within walking distance. Beaches were great and plenty of interesting places to visit nearby including Corfu Castle on the steam train and a walk to Harry's Rocks down to Studland. Nice circular walk with stunning views. Would definitely like to visit again and highly recommend this property

  • "Generally a very comfortable and welcoming property where we enjoyed our stay."

The parking is not great, but there is parking and it is accessible with care. The heating system seemed to be "on" even when we thought we had turned down all the radiators and switched off the towel rails; we were there during a reasonably hot spell and whilst we could control the heat by opening windows during the day we closed them at night (ground floor apartment) and as a result we were often too hot overnight...not a major issue, but it affected our comfort at night. Overall though a very good stay in a pleasant apartment.

Hello Alan, We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Driving instructions clarifies car parking spaces 1, 11 and 12 are available. Guests don't seem to be reading the information email sent to them so we will add this to the information in the apartment. The apartment is a very good Eco Build property which does make it nice and warm. However, the towel rails and heating shouldn't be on yet, there are no radiators as we have the benefit of underfloor heating. Guests can open the four sitting room windows and second bedroom windows overnight as they are elevated to second floor height. Thank you for your comments - it is really good to have feedback from guests . Kind Regards John and Rebecca. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful, spacious, modern and very well equipped apartment in a quiet road on the edge of Swanage."

The off-road parking is a real bonus. The allocated space is at the end of a row and quite tight but we managed ok with a small car. As a less mobile person I chose this apartment for facilities like the ground floor accommodation and walk in shower. However, I found some things very inconvenient and would have preferred to be warned about them before booking. We had to collect the key from offices in the busiest part of central Swanage where there are double yellow and no available parking. The bins where we were told to place rubbish at the end of our stay are in an outbuilding; a walk of approximately 150 metres. These things are not a problem for most but something for the less mobile to be aware of. Swanage is a lovely town in a very central position for exploring the whole of Purbeck.

Hello Margaret, Thank you for your positive feedback and comments. As our apartment management do not allow a key safe for security, Sykes notify guests a week before their booking by email - Key collection information and driving instructions - which informs guests about key collection from the key safe at the office in Swanage. The email also clarifies car parking spaces 1, 11 and 12 are available. The bins are in a very accessible bin area (not outbuilding) just at the back of the flat. Thank you again for your comments. • "Great location."

Everything as advertised. We did struggle to find the bins and didn’t ever find the shed. The WiFi is pretty awful, you won’t get a decent quality image on the TV screen and the TV isn’t really big enough. Personally I found the mattress too soft. The shower in the en suite leaks and has to be turned off at the switch. The sofa was fab and the apartment is spacious and clean. Easy access to town and the coastal path. Overall we had a very comfortable stay.

Hello Stephanie, We are glad you enjoyed your comfortable stay. We have an information folder in the apartment which clearly explains where the bins and the shed are. The WIFI has not been an issue before and we have not been notified by any guests that there has been or that there is a problem with the image on the TV. I am sorry for this there must have been an external reason. There are four images of our television available to view before booking. The shower does not have a switch so I am not sure what you turned off! again this has not been mentioned before so thank you for letting us know. Kind Regards John and Rebecca Property Owner

  • "The only 3 small negatives were."

    - we have a large car and the allocated space was at the end with a large hedge alongside. - - Could we suggest that on booking, the size of vehicle be checked and one of the spare bays be made available for larger cars? - could the key be available in a key safe at the property not in town with parking at a premium nearby? - the hedge outside the main bedroom needed cutting back as it covered quite a bit of the window. .

Hello Anthony, Thank you for your comments and 100%. We cannot put a key safe up as our apartment management do not allow it because of security concerns. Sykes notify guests a week before their booking by email - Key collection information and driving instructions - which informs guests about key collection. The email also clarifies car parking spaces 1, 11 and 12 are available. Dream Cottages have confirmed they are still informing guests of the three car park numbers available. We are addressing the hedge. We really appreciate the comments and thank you again for the 100% all the best John and Rebecca Property Owner

It’s location was perfect, a short walk to the beach and not too far from the town centre. The weather was very warm when we stayed and subsequently the apartment was hot. Some fans would be a useful addition. We would definitely stay again, thank you.

We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary during our stay. We found Swanage to be an absolute gem of a place, with something for everyone. Great scenery, superb beaches, wonderful walking routes and an excellent array of pubs, coffee shops and eateries. Staying at Broad Leys was the icing on the cake. A lovely apartment in a quiet nook of the town. We will definitely return to Swanage and Broad Leys.

  • "We were blown away by the high standard of the Broad Leys appartment."

We had a fantastic break in Swanage and the appartment and it's location really helped towards that. The facilities in the appartment were top quality, a big comfy bed, powerful showers and a sofa that just swallows you up. Even the more mudane things like crockery and cutlery were of a high standard, and from a person whom likes a large coffee and a full pint of beer, I was well caterd for. I'd have no hesitation in booking Broad Leys again and again.

  • "It had all the things one want for short break, and more."

Very Comfortable especially for older people like us. We did not have to go out if the weather was not right. Although we took lot of food stuff, we did not have to e.g. tea and coffee. All in all very good place. However parking number one was a nightmare. Eventually we ended up parking on the street.

Dear Ashok, Thank you for your lovely comments about our apartment. It is best to reverse into the parking space and there are visitor spaces available. We are working on the parking space and will hopefully have it sorted for this year! all the best John and Rebecca Property Owner

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
