  • "This was the fourth time we have stayed at Rose Cottage and we enjoyed it very much."

It is very well equipped , comfortable and in a good position, near the harbour.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it's great to hear that you've enjoyed your stay - it means a lot when guests let us know they've had a great time at Rose Cottage. Property Owner

  • "The property is good, clean and in a great location."

We did leave a small list of items which may need attention, but they are all general things which happen in everyone's home at some stage - lightbulbs needing changing etc. so nothing to complain about or that affected our stay. The only thing which did affect us was noise from the Neighbours due to being a terraced property. We could hear their T.V loudly until the early hours of the morning. We totally appreciate that this again is unavoidable to a certain extent and difficult to resolve. Once again - this wasn't to the point where it ruined our stay. All in all we were happy with the rental and would use it again.

  • "This was a lovely cottage in a great location, so close to the town and the sea."

It was lovely having space for the four of us to spread out, with people being able to watch TV in the dining room and lounge as well as my son gaming in his room upstairs after a long day walking. It was well decorated and well cleaned. The welcome pack mentioned a parking permit which we couldn't find. The bathroom lock was a little tricky and needs a little TLC. Thank you for such a lovely stay. It was a great base.

Thank you for your feedback, we're really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately, and somewhat frustratingly, the council has now stopped issuing parking permits, and the welcome pack hasn't been updated to reflect this. However, the bathroom lock has now been fixed! We very much hope to see you again. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Rose Cottage."

The location is perfect, and the cottage is very comfortable and clean. We managed to park right outside as we have a Blue Badge, which was a big help. We shall definitely be booking again, thank you.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We've worked hard over the Spring to update and elevate Rose Cottage so it's fantastic to hear that you had an enjoyable stay, and we very much look forward to welcoming you again. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "Lovely little cottage, very close to the quayside."

No issues with cleanliness or equipment. Enjoyed our 4 night stay and would go back. Worried about parking before we went but we were able to park on the street and the Nothe car park is really close. Also for dog owners Castle Cove beach is properly dog-friendly and only 20 min walk away.

  • "Lovely terrace cottage which has had a recent make over certainly not shabby as one review stated recently."

Great quiet location within minutes of easy walking to beaches and central Weymouth. Parking is tricky so car stayed put but for us not an issue as we were walking everywhere with our two dogs who loved it. Would definitely be happy to visit again.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. The town council have unfortunately stopped any parking permits for holiday let properties, however there are two large car parks at the end of Horsford Street which almost always have spaces. There is also free on-street parking on Horsford Street and surrounding streets. Like you, once were parked up we tend to walk everywhere as everything is so close! We hope to see you again. • "The property is now looking rather tired and has had no changes or enhancements to it for a number of years - The carpet on the staircase is particularly poor and I would consider a hazard."

This will be the last time that we use Rose Cottage. We also noted that the cleaner did not spend a huge amount of time in prepping the property for our stay

Thank you for your feedback. We added some enhancements at the end of the season and the carpet has now been properly re-tacked. Regarding the cleaning and prepping - thank you for your observations and as a consequence we have advised Dream Cottages / Sykes that the cleaning and preparation should be more thorough. We do hope that you take the opportunity to revisit. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay Rose cottage was comfortable and clean, fab location and great we could take our dogs."

just a few little issues a rip in the settee and nails sticking out of the floor in the dining room and the loft room is a good addition as long as it’s not too hot.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the settee had been ripped, and the nails have now been sorted, this was caused by a plumber unfortunately not putting one of the floor-boards back properly. We love the loft room and find that keeping the Velux blinds shut and the windows open helps to cool the room on particularly hot days. We hope to see you again soon. Best wishes Property Owner

  • "There was a very obvious amd strong smell of dogs throughout the property, especially in the living room and main bedroom."

Clumps of dog hair were found on the carpet in the attic room. The rugs in the property seemed tired and grubby and just need a thorough cleaning. There were 8 frying pans but no bread knife and the washer/dryer is incredibly noisy and temperamental so the kitchen facilities could do with looking at. Despite those niggles we had an amazing week. The cottage was spacious, welcoming, comfortable and homely. It is in a fantastic position for all Weymouth has to offer and none of us wanted to leave! We would return.

Thank you for your feedback. The cleaning issues, including the dog smell, were raised with Dream Cottages, who are responsible for the cleaning and change-overs, and have been resolved. The rugs have also been changed. We've upgraded the kitchen with new utensils and pans and the washer/dryer has also been changed for a new and much quieter model. We're glad you had a great week and hope to welcome you back in the future. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "When we arrived the cleaner had just finished."

Wasn’t too impressed with her cleaning but it was okay. The house itself was fab and had everything we needed. We did notice there wasn’t a measuring jug in the kitchen when we came to use one but we figured away round it. The only thing that wasn’t right was the washing machine it as incredibly noisy and the screen kept flickering. We thought the location of the cottage was brilliant as it was a 5 min walk to Weymouth centre and lots of pubs and restaurants. But where the cottage was situated it was lovely and quiet. If you walked out the door and up small hill you were in the cove and the Nothe gardens were lovely to walk around. Would definitely come back here again.

Could do with a cupboard for food and the bearings on the washing machine need replacing as it is the loudest thing you have ever heard. Great seating area in the back yard, Great location for beach and town. Lovely and cosy little place.

  • "Great little house right in the middle off everything, lovely walk to the harbour shops & beach, lovely restaurants in the area."

Had everything you needed in the house, the only problem we had was there was no wheelie bin outside for our rubbish, I went to the office twice to tell them, each time was told one would be dropped off but never was so our rubbish was left in the kitchen as could not put it out because off the seagulls. But overall a lovely weeks stay & would definitely come back. Weymouth is lovely & can get around to see all areas off Dorset from there

The property

Located near Brewers Quay, Weymouth, Rose Cottage is a tastefully presented Victorian terraced holiday home. With accommodation spread over three floors this deceptively spacious three bedroom red brick terraced cottage, is the perfect base for exploring Weymouth and beyond.

At the rear of the property there is also an enclosed decked patio area meaning you can sit outside and relax while enjoying the warm summer air.

This really is a gem of a cottage.

The beautiful Nothe Gardens with views across Weymouth bay and over to the Isle of Portland and Nothe Fort are only a few minutes from the cottage.

The coastal walks around the gardens are perfect for an afternoon stroll or family picnic.

Take a walk along the harbourside, via the Old Stone Pier, stopping for a bite to eat in one of the numerous restaurants, pubs or cafes.

Just a short walk across the town-bridge you will find yourself in the town center where you can explore the usual high street shops or local quirky shops.

On the edge of town you will find the aware-winning sandy beach, a treat not to be missed whatever the weather.

If you wish to discover more of Dorset why not take a drive along the coast road to West Bexingham, the market town of Bridport or visit some of the many attractions across Dorset such as Monkey World or Bovington Tank museum.
