  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Norden Cottage."

This is a characterful cottage set in a scenic and tranquil location but within easy reach of amenities and a great base to tour round this spectacular area of Dorset. The cottage is very well equipped and the sun trap garden was a great space to relax in after a day out touring. It’s also very doggy friendly with walks across beautiful countryside right opposite the cottage and doggy treats included in a generous welcome pack including milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. Osmington is a lovely village to stay in and this was a fabulous cottage situated on a picture postcard country lane surrounded by hills and near to the coastline. We’ve had an amazing holiday here and we hope to return again soon.

Thank you for the fantastic review. It really does mean a-lot to us. We are very glad you enjoyed your holiday and are welcome back any time. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the very comfortable cottage and really appreciated the complimentary starter pack with milk, tea and biscuits."

..and treats for the dog. The village is a quaint English village with many thatched cottages and barn conversions. It is possible to walk straight from the cottage across fields to the coast. A short drive and you can see Corfe Castle , Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and much more. In the evening we enjoyed lighting the wood burning stove (logs and kindling supplied) and watching a film. A mop and bucket would have helped to keep the floor clean when entering on a rainy day. We would recommend this cottage to couples and families and their dogs!

Thank you very much for your kind comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We will get a mop and bucket, thanks for the feedback. Property Owner

Norden Cottage, is a characterful, three-bedroom property resting in Osmington, a small, well-preserved village on the Jurassic coast of Dorset.

The village is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) on the official inland South West coast path with walks straight on the doorstep.

The cottage offers off-road parking, an enclosed garden, wood burning stove, and is well-positioned to nearby amenities.

Norden Cottage invites five guests and two furry friends to stay.

On entering the property, you are welcomed into a sitting room, where you can relax and unwind watching movies, while you warm your toes by the wood burning stove.

Dine together, sharing all your favourite memories of the holiday, after the designated chef takes a step into the well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen to cook up some scrumptious meals.

As the evening grows darker, head upstairs to discover the freestanding bath, to soak in after a long day of exploration, and then catch your rest in one of the three inviting bedrooms.

Visit Craigs Dairy Farm, shop and tea rooms in the village, serving cream teas, breakfasts, light lunches, homemade ice cream and milk from dairy cows in the surrounding fields.

A short drive away is The Smuggler's Inn, a 17th century thatched inn next to the sea, or The Springhead Pub and Restaurant, a few minutes in the car or a mile stroll across the fields, with views of the White Horse, a monument to King George the III cut into the hillside of Osmington in 1808.

Nearby is Weymouth, a vibrant seaside town with a wealth of attractions, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Visit the harbour, Nothe Fort, SeaLife centre and of course the stunning beach.

Visit Ringstead Bay, a two mile drive to this stunning National Trust beach, or a few miles further to Lulworth Cove and the world heritage limestone arch at Durdle Door.

For a spot of shopping, visit the bustling town of Dorchester with its Museums or its newest facility Brewery Square with a variety of quality shops, restaurants and pubs.

About the location

OSMINGTON

Osmington village, sits on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth with it’s infamous beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. A short drive will see you reach a local convenience store at Preston. Weymouth offers a larger variety of shopping, eating and entertainment choices.

Please Note: Starter pack supplied for woodburning stove.
