  • "First impression was it was very old fashioned, but we settled in well and found the property comfortable and had all we needed, even a radio which was a bonus."

If you like peace and quiet and good access to a wide variety of footpaths, then this accommodation would be ideal, especially with your dog.

  • "The Old Bull Stall was idyllic, a fabulous place to stay."

Just what we wanted a peaceful retreat away from the busy World. As our first holiday in 4 years, due to family ill-health, this was just perfect. We were made to feel so welcome and an added bonus were the furry residents, for us two who are total animal people! Thank you so much to all for making this a long-awaited holiday to remember.

Comfortable and clean. Short walk up the quiet lane to the park, and very central to many places. We had wonderful days out everyday and felt not far from anything, even both north and south coastlines.

The cottage was clean and comfortable in an absolutely idyllic location, the nights were silent with no light pollution so if you like looking at the stars then this is an added bonus. The location is pretty much central to many of the main attractions that are on offer and would also offer a perfect base for cyclists and ramblers. Highly recommended and will be our first choice if we venture to the area again. Thankyou for making our holiday complete (harrison loved the sheep)

  • "A perfect setting for a country getaway."

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The only slight downside is the comfort of the living area seating. As we had good weather this was not too much of an issue as we were out a lot of the time, but in the winter I would prefer something more comfortable to sit in front of the fire and read.

  • "We have stayed in quite a few of your listed cottages especially ones on Farms, all have been of a very high standard regarding comfort and furnishings."

We think this cottage is in need of an upgrade the cooker although in good working order is very old, the furniture in the lounge is not comfortable to sit on of an evening after being out all day especially for an older person as backs are so low. The hot water went off the owners had forgotten to mention that we needed to press a button in order to reset it as it seems to have a problem. At all other properties we have stayed there has been a welcome starter pack, i.e. tea, coffee, milk even biscuits and treats I had rad the reviews before booking and several said it was nice to arrive and find a tray + eggs on arrival, so we did not take those things, however, we had a jug of milk in the fridge and some pieces of flapjack. I do think that a welcome pack is a good idea so you don't have to go out after a long journey to get the essentials. So we were a bit disappointed that we paid the same or similar price for this property but it was not up to the high standard we had come to expect from Sykes.
