  • "We had a lovely stay!"

Location was really good and the property had everything you could need! Had a lovely homely feel and the beds and sofas are really comfy would definitely stay here again! The only down side was there was some dog hair on one of the beds when we arrived which is abit odd as all should be fresh when you arrive and the building opposite the property is very run down. But wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Thank you for your feedback, so lovely to hear you had good time. Your comments have been raised with the Housekeeping Team who advised that all beds were remade with fresh linen so we can only apologise for whatever has happened here. It is on our radar for the future to keep an eye on. Very much hope to welcome you back again. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

  • "2 Kersbrook Gardens is a very well appointed place to stay the bed is comfortable and the lounge has to large sofas to relax on and the kitchen has so many extra bits it's like a home from home."

It could do with some newer photos as the furniture has been upgraded.

Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. We have updated the photos and hope to welcome you again in the future. Property Owner

  • "We had a really good New Year in Lyme, lots going on, a really delightful place, quite the hub of the South West."

The house was clean and we were not in need of anything, and in the two sunny days we sat on the terrace and enjoyed the fresh air and the tidy immaculate little garden.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at 2 Kersbrook Gardens."

The house was clean and more spacious than indicated in the listing. Our king size bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding and pillows. On chilly days it was easy to put the central heating on for a quick boost. The kitchen was well equipped and clean though a little shabby. A lever door handle would be good on the downstairs loo as it was awkward to open. Our only other negative was the sofas which definitely need replacing as a priority. Overall, we had a lovely time.

  • "We have found the kitchen dark with the lights on."

I hated the doors knobs. All the doors were difficult to open. There should be a gate on the the top of the stairs as well. The small garden at the back smells of dog pee thanks to the many dogs peeing at one small closed area. There is a tiny hole just outside the bathroom on the hallway under the carpet. We believe the small car refers to the car park place at the back but you can leave your car in the front of the cottage. We had a SUV parked at the front. It was fine. We loved the welcoming pack, all the info in the book was very detailed. Loved that the ornaments/decorations were from the local shops. Everything is close, shops, beach etc.

  • "We’ve enjoyed many holidays in Lyme Regis and this was our fourth stay in this great holiday house."

Well equipped, spacious and perfect for access to all the amenities that Lyme Regis has to offer. Dropped my ‘comfort’ rating from the top level, as the mattresses on the twin beds and the double bunk were uncomfortable (I’m told).

The owner has made some improvements to the house recently. The independent property assessment has commented that the single mattresses should be considered for replacement at the end of the season. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

Nice and clean but could do with a bit of new decoration

  • "Very happy with the level of equipment."

House was generally clean and comfortable and all the arrangements worked smoothly. The bag of Dorset goodies was a nice surprise. The only thing I was unhappy about was the parking space which was overhung by a tree which was dropping its apples. In order to avoid them dropping on my car, I had to park about half a car's length forward of the space which led to a complaint from a neighbour.

The property

Emerging from the quaint town of Lyme Regis, Dorset, this stone terraced house invites you to begin your Jurassic coast adventure. Be welcomed into a homely sitting room after your journey, where you will find a traditional style fireplace and several sofas in which you will be able to recline with a hot chocolate and plan the day ahead of you.

Before setting off to the beach, walk through the property to discover an open-plan kitchen/diner providing you with all of the home-from-home amenities to help you create a heart-warming meal, before presenting it on the central dining table, and a theme of blue throughout this space reminds you that the coast is only a short drive away.

When in need of rest, follow the stairs up to the bedrooms where you will first find a king-size room offering sea views and two more rooms, a twin room and a bunk, perfect for children to relax in, as well as a family bathroom where you can enjoy a soak after a log day spent walking along the shore.

The most intriguing feature of this property is the somewhat secret loft conversion, and to reach this you will climb the quirky spiral staircase, reaching a glass wall, and when you enter this space, you will be delighted at the welcoming seating, fresh wooden floors and high ceilings painted white with added skylights to create an airy space that encourages you to spend an evening with a cup of tea and a book.

If you wish to dine outside, a bench on a patio offers the perfect spot for breakfast in the sun.

As you begin your Dorset adventure, you will be delighted to find that the town of Lyme Regis offers many cafes, restaurants and pubs for you to choose from, and there is also the option of local craft shops selling everything from paintings and home-made produce to fossils found at the beach!

There is a variety of beaches along the coastline, and if you wish to have a picnic on a sandy beach, then Sandy Beach and Monmouth Beach are perfect for you, or if you wish to try to discover some amazing fossils, then the Jurassic coast best offers this from Lyme Regis Fossil Beach.

For the perfect family day out, visit the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium where you will see many fascinating creatures that can be found along the coast, or head over to Dinosaurland Fossil Museum to explore the intriguing prehistoric world hiding beneath the rocks.
