  • "We have had a lovely holiday ."

However, we felt the house was not up to your usual standard. Some cutlery, utensils and pots and pans were dirty. Cupboard doors and door tops were dirty. It was extremely dusty and cobwebs everywhere. No cleaning products were in either bathroom at all The hoover was broken and extremely difficult to use. None of the bulbs in the main bedroom worked. There were a lot of steps in the garden and 2 steps down to the kitchen which were a hazard for our 2 year old which were not mentioned. Stairgates would have been very useful for both sets of stairs .

  • "This is the second year we have holidayed at Brewers House because we love it so much!"

We all felt the property had improved since last year. The property smelt less damp and the kitchen has had a mini makeover. The location is excellent, walking distance to everything we needed and we really enjoyed walking along the sea wall to Nothe Fort and over to Stone Pier Cafe for coffee every morning. Our only bugbear was the lack of recycling facilities available at the house. Throughout the week, six of us generated quite a lot of recycling which we had to take to the promenade to re-cycle, not ideal. We had a lovely holiday and would love to stay at Brewers House again.

  • "The property was ok."

The beds, although a bit firm, were clean as were the bedrooms. The living room was reasonably comfortable. The kitchen was very poor. The dishes, plates etc are all crazed. The baking/cooking trays were unusable. The grill oven filled the room with smoke and set the smoke alarm in the house going. The dishwasher filter was disgusting. There were mice running around the kitchen and the man that came to lay traps found plenty of dropping and traps previously placed. The matter needs urgent attention. I have rented many houses, big and small, in both UK and France all superior to this and have never faced vermin in any. Rubbish disposal was also a problem.

Thank you for your valuable feedback we are sorry and sad to hear of the issues during your stay, we use a cleaning company and will contact them re your comments. There should be three sets of crockery; one for outside use and a Johnston set and a white set in the Welsh dresser, we will check this and replace if anything is running low. The house has never had mice before, we are pleased that Dream Cottages were able to remove them swiftly. The agents are also responsible for rubbish collection we will contact them. Thank you again for your comments, we always look to improve our guests experience at our home. We hope to welcome you back to Weymouth in the future. Property Owner

  • "Nice house and garden."

Lots of space for our party of 5 adults. We parked one car in the garage and we were lucky to get a on street parking spot for our 2nd car. Some of the crockery and utensils could do with an update but we managed just fine. Short walk to the harbour. Approx 15 minutes walk to nearest supermarket. This was our first visit to Weymouth. Lots of nice places to eat and drink within easy walking distance. Lots to keep us entertained, we didn’t need to leave Weymouth or use the cars and the weather was lovely. We would recommend this property.

  • "Brewers house was a lovely stay great location for us."

Having a garden was great and the neighbors would Chuck the ball back over when my boys was playing football. The games room was brilliant for our boys we took there Xbox and set it up in there and still had the living room to chill in. It was quite clean bit of dust in some rooms that was missed . Kitchen could do with a lick of paint but was fine had everything we needed. Had two bathrooms but if someone was having a shower or running the bathroom in second floor bathroom the shower would not work in 3rd floor bathroom so that was a bit of a pain. Having the garage was great as two families went . Parking outside the house was not the best but as we pulled up someone just came out a space so we got a space , so we did not use our car all holiday cause when someone moved there was someone straight in the space. We did love the house tho was perfect for our families and kids. Would definitely stop again. Thanks

  • "Mention should be made in the listing that the stairs to the top floor are very steep and we had to alter our sleeping arrangements as a result."

There was a lack of user manuals for various appliances- oven hob and gas fire. We searched all over and it would be helpful to have them all in a folder. The controls on the shower in the bathroom were difficult to use - the slightest adjustment could change the water from cold to too hot. it was a lack of user manual. We had booked a cot and a high chair and on arrival thought they hadn’t been provided. We eventually found them in cupboards- it would have been helpful if they were out on display.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry about the issues you had, it is the start of the season and we are still fine tuning. The cottage description has now been updated to mention the steep stairs and Dream Cottages will take the cot and high chair out of the kitchen cupboard before future guests arrive. The showers are both newish ( 1 year) so will talk to plumber. The manuals are all in the cupboard in the back room. We will move them top the main folder. Thanks Mike and Jacquie Property Owner

House had everything we needed and was spacious and comfortable. Only slight issue no toilet roll on arrival as mentioned so just be prepared for that, otherwise highly recommended

  • "Although we had a lovely holiday in Weymouth we would not stay at Brewers House again."

Parts of the property could do with being updated and the beds were very soft (personal preference I know). There were issues with both sets of neighbours and we constantly felt like we were being watched. We had some music playing in the garden (not loud) and because it was a windy day one neighbour asked us to turn it down as it was carrying in the wind. He also told us he was having some work carried out on his property and that there would be noise (of which there was) but luckily we were out during the day so we avoided this. The other neighbour questioned the light which was left on in the garden, of which was on when we arrived. He asked us to turn it off, he stated it was quite a simple task, and if we needed assistance we could give him the keys and he would pop in whilst we were out during the day to do it for us! In fact you could not turn the power to the light off without turning the power to the garage door off, and as we were using the garage it was on the majority of the time We did turn the power off in the evening to turn the light off but it was supposed to be a sensor light of which the sensor wasn't working otherwise it wouldn't have been on all the time.

I must apologise for the light issue. It broke and I assumed it was on a switch, which I told the neighbour. When it transpired that it was not I arranged for it to be disconnected, but not until that Saturday. Sorry for the inconvenience. The beds is a difficult one, some people find the main double bed rather hard. Property Owner

  • "We have stayed in this lovely house before so we new what to expect, we brought our own stair gate as the stairs to the top floor where a child’s bedroom is are very steep."

There was plenty of room for us ( 5 adults 1 child) and we enjoyed breakfasts and takeaways at the big table in the kitchen. Parking was fine in the garage at the back of the house and on the street at the front. The house is situated in an ideal spot easy to get into the centre of Weymouth but nice and quiet as well. We loved our stay thanks very much.

  • "Although there were two bathrooms, we couldn’t use them at the same time due to water pressure, so showering at the end of each day had to be quite strategic."

Also, the information files had contradictory info. One stated no recycling and the other gave recycling details. We reluctantly chose not to recycle. That said, we did all have a lovely time in Weymouth. Thank you.

  • "Parking is tricky as it is on street parking."

Light bulbs not working in two of the bedrooms had to go out and buy some. Which left behind for the next family. Shower top floor was good but the jet settings need to be descaled. Lot of bits and bobs from previous occupants. It was a great location and really hand for the town and beach. Accommodation is over three floors you need to be fit to stay at the top as the stairs are very tight.

Thankyou for your feedback. There is garage parking available, however some guests bring multiple cars. Parking can get very busy in the summer months with local residents and holidaymakers. We look forward to seeing you again soon Property Owner

  • "We believe that both showers need replacing as they are not as good as they should be."

The bathroom is an awkward shape and so not much can be done there, but the shower door needs to be more solid as it moves too easily. The garden chais had not been wiped for some time and the garden needed weeding. Usually parking on the road outside is not strictly true. Thank goodness for the garage. Other than that, we had a lovely holiday and the house was lovely too.
