  • "We had a lovely week, just a couple of minor things."

The water pressure is very low in both showers, not sure if anything can be done about this. Also, we had a problem with WiFi but the box is in a locked cupboard so had to contact dreams cottages, which was a bit frustrating. As it turned out the problem sorted itself out so then had to phone and cancel! All in all though a lovely place, would def recommend

Good morning Pauline, I'm glad to hear you had a lovely stay in our home. Thank you for alerting us to the water pressure, Dave has since been in and checked everything is ok. Regarding the WiFi we have a welcome pack with instructions for various things etc. To get the WiFi going again you should be able to switch it off and then on again on the socket next to the window side of the bureau. Thank you for saying you would definitely recommend Connaught Gardens. Kind regards Ann and Paul Property Owner

  • "Connaught Gardens is a very spacious and clean property in a quiet neighbourhood."

Its about a 10 minute walk to a local Co-op. It is well located for visits to Portland, Chesil Beach and Weymouth itself. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

  • "The house and the neighbourhood is beautiful and quiet."

I absolutely recommend it for 4 to 5 people. The only things I have to mention negatively are all related to cleaning and the maintenance of kitchen and bathroom equipment. On arrival there were crumbs on the floor, hairs in the shower and very dirty windows. There is also mould in the shower. The dishwasher needs deep cleaning and new salt and rinse liquid. The dryer needs cleaning. The tableware was not very clean on arrival. There was no towel at the downstairs toilet, no surplus rolls of toilet paper, only one kitchen towel, 3 tabs for the dishwasher. And except a very dirty hoover no other cleaning materials were available. My daughter found dead insects behind the bedside tables in the small double room that she removed. All this issues need to be resolved. The photos in the advert show a nicely decorated house. In reality half of the things are not there or hidden in cupboards. This was our 3rd house of Sykes and before we never had issues regarding cleanliness. Therefore I was a bit disappointed.

Thank you for recommending our property and providing your valuable feedback. We're glad you enjoyed the property and neighbourhood. Apologies for the cleaning issues you have experienced. Dream cottages advise guests to bring any issues to their attention during your stay. Their procedure is to send cleaners back in to rectify any cleaning or maintenance issues you may have encountered. Nevertheless, your comments have been passed onto the housekeeping team to resolve. Regarding the complimentary items, this serves as a starter pack for your stay as Connaught Gardens is a self catering property. Regarding items in our home, we like to make improvements and changes every year for our new and repeat visitors to enjoy. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Ann and Paul Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Connaught Gardens, I was actually at the opening of the show house there when working in Weymouth."

Spacious and everything there for your comfort and more, and what a selection of books Wow! better than some libraries. We will hopefully stay next year when we are coming to visit our family who live locally a shame it’s not to let during the winter.

  • "This was our 3rd stay (2nd two week break) staying here and loved every minute."

Feels like our 2nd home now. We would move here tomorrow if we could. Perfect location, especially for cycling. Close enough to amenities but quite enough to not have any disturbances. Lovely peaceful cul-de-sac We will be returning next year if not sooner.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review and we're so pleased you love staying in our house and enjoy its quiet location. Property Owner

  • "A lovely house, very spacious and in a good position for walking into Weymouth."

However it's an older house and does not have many plug sockets so the use of extension leads is required which in a rental property isn't ideal.

  • "A superb house with all facilities you could ask for ie:- closeness to the seafront and shops."

Really happy except for no towel in downstairs loo and the biggest gripe was the Internet. Constantly going off and having to turn it off and on again, and not being able to stream anything. If the Internet was sorted it would be a 5 star house.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay so much. The issue with the internet arised in May after Talktalk updated the router firmware. We are pleased to say it has finally been resolved this week. Housekeeping have been asked to leave a hand towel, in future, in the downstairs loo for guests. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay, the Cottage is lovely and we loved the Garden very picturesque."

We were so lucky as there was a heatwave and we spent most of it on the Beach which is just slightly over a Mile walk. There are so many places you can eat out in Town and some nearby and lots choice of Pubs and Restaurants. A few Minor issues the downstairs Television was hard to work and the internet connection is very hard to work, also had to clean some of the Kitchen equipment when we got there. However we would still give the Cottage a 10 as the rest of the House inside was left immaculately clean and attention to detail and spacious.

Really glad you like our house. Regarding the television, we will add new instructions to the guests handbook on how to work the TV. Property Owner

  • "Very happy with property with the single exception of TERRIBLE WI-FI."

It kept dropping out and resetting it made no difference. I see no reason why reasonable Wi-Fi cannot be provided. It did frustrate us all.

Thank you for your invaluable feedback. We are really glad you enjoyed our house but so sorry you experienced poor WiFi connection. We are on the case and should be getting it sorted soon. Kind regards The Owner. Property Owner

  • "Absolutly love this house."

Feels like you are 'at home' and comfortable while there. Only have two very minor suggestions not Criticisms. 1) the en-suit bathroom in main bedroom would benefit with some sort of shelving to place shampoo/shower gels on and not have to have them on the floor. 2) either having a shaver plug (2pin) put in or make it known on the discription that you need to take an adapter plug. As I said, minor things to what is a lovely place to stay. We will be back again next year or sooner if we can. (Shame it's not available over Christmass)

We're really glad you felt at home in our house. We will be getting a shelf put up in the ensuite shower and shaver points in both bathrooms. Many thanks The Owner Property Owner

  • "House was very clean and spacious."

Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Good showers in bathrooms. 15 minute walk into town and to harbour. Very quiet area. House was perfect for us. Just be aware that you need to take dishwasher tabs and extra toilet rolls as not enough provided for week. Also no washing machine detergent.

  • "In quiet, residential area, within walking distance of the harbour."

The house was very clean, although we did find a pair of canvas shoes under the coffee table and an exercise type headband near the sofa. Excellent selection of books and games. However, a lot of the house was locked up, which gave it a strange feeling of not being welcoming. It was advertised as a 3 bedroom house, but it actually has 4…… the 4th one is locked, as was the loft door, the cupboard under the stairs, the top of the wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom, most of the cupboards in the laundry room. There was no access to the garage either, so when the dining room light pinged as we switched it on, we could not reset the fuse box and were left without lights in most of the downstairs for the rest of the evening. This was speedily fixed the next morning. Outside, the garden is pleasant, but the plastic furniture a let down. A barbecue was not available……there was one in the lovely summer house …….but , again, this was out of bounds.

  • "The house was very comfortable and very clean."

The facilities were all to a good level and we really enjoyed our break, in fact we would happily go back to this house again if we were in the area. The house was within easy distance to the beach and town, it was also in a nice and quite area. The house was even cleaned half way through our stay to freshen up the house which was very unusual and appreciated.
