  • "We adored Harbour Reach Cottage, it felt like home straight away, it was clean and comfortable with many thoughtful touches."

The cottage is in a great central location, ideal for exploring Weymouth that has so much to offer. Thank you for having us.

  • "Lovely property and great location, just a few minutes walk to the harbour."

My only moan would be that both the outside areas were neglected and tired - which was a shame because the terrace area to the bedroom could be lovely if cleaned and maintained. We will though return - thank you

  • "Lovely property in an excellent location."

Only downside was all sofas, sofa covers and rugs all smelt like dog. I think also useful to note it is hard to load/unload into the property unless you park in the middle of a small road. But other than that we had a lovely and comfortable stay.

Small things. Internet - had no time to call and improve. The frying pans are very old and stick like crazy- need updating. Otherwise lovely place. And you were very responsive. Most appreciated

Also the information folder referred to a parking permit but there was not a permit left anywhere; however we were able to park quite easily and local buses were amazing.

The property is in a fantastic location right in the middle of the old town within easy reach of all the attractions. The only slight negative being the car parking, which can be hard to find and expensive in Weymouth. But we had a wonderful holiday.

Beautiful house with amazing views from the top window. Very comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated.

  • "Lovely fisherman's cottage very close to the Brewer's Quay area of the town centre, so very handy."

One negative aspect is there is no back garden although there is a raised patio area. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to doing so again.

  • "The house was all good."

The cleanlines could’ve been better. We have stayed at many dream cottages houses and this one was the ‘dirtiest’. However, after reading reviews of the fridges not closing this was not true and they were absolutely fine. One other thing, we stayed for 2 weeks and we only had one bin which we filled in 2/3 days. So either another bin or somewhere to be able to put the rubbish out.

  • "I have used Sykes for many years and have never had a bad experience."

Harbour Reach was very comfortable but work needs to be done on aspects of the kitchen. The fridge needs to be replaced, the door doesn’t fit so doesn’t work properly, there is inadequate storage for goods. But having said that the welcome package was a lovely gesture. The removal of rubbish was confusing and may I suggest a stick on light on the stairs up to the top bedroom. But having said all this the cottage is lovely and as always Weymouth never disappoints.

  • "A lovely week spent in beautiful Weymouth."

The house was very nicely presented and everything you could expect on arrival. All clean and comfortable. As a 6'6" man I struggled with the size of property overall, the low ceilings and narrow staircases were expected. The bedroom set ups could possibly be configured better, as due to my size I could only fit in the single beds! The top floor bedroom was beautiful but the bed was too small to sleep comfortably. The stairs to the top floor are very steep and narrow. I think the double room on 1st floor could have suited a bunk bed, and the single room on 1st floor could have double bed, to make for a roomier set-up overall. These size related issues aside, the property was perfectly situated for all what Weymouth has to offer, pubs, restaurants and walks to Nothe Fort and Gardens, Beach and shopping all walking distance. Recommended vists: Walk to Castle Cove along the Rodwell trail, see the castle and beautiful secluded cove below. Nothe Fort and Gardens, well worth a visit. Boho Gelato in the harbour - the very best ice cream. Driftwood Pizza restaurant in the harbour - lovely friendly service and great food. Finally - beware the seagulls! They've obviously got the memo from the Cornish seagulls, and stake out your fish and chip dinner!

  • "It’s a lovely cottage in a great location, it definitely needs some work doing to it One of the rooms starting leaking water from the ceiling through the light fitting half way through the week, the oven is very dated makes awful noises."

The outside areas were definitely not cleaned so didn’t sit out there, to be honest the whole cottage needs a deep clean. The stairs up to the 3rd floor are very dangerous, I no it mentions them in the description but they are very steep and narrow I fell down them and scrapped and bruised both my legs was very scary. The fridge doesn’t close properly and doesn’t keep things very cold.

  • "It was a lovely little cottage and the location was great, comfy beds and everything we needed."

A bit of feedback designed to be constructive...While it was clearly clean when we arrived there are a lot of dusty corners and ornaments so it could really do with a spring clean. The amount of furniture/ ornaments also made it tricky to unpack or put anything down as there wasn't much space on the floor or surfaces for our stuff. While the decor is interesting and quirky a bit less of it would be ideal, also making it through easier to keep clean. Similarly in the kitchen while it is well equipped there is no cupboard space to put any food away. The windows could do with an external clean. The tap in the bathroom dripped, the shower varied in temperature massively, the cutlery drawer in the kitchen opens the oven when you open it and the fridge doesn't close properly (you have to shove it at the bottom) and also needs defrosting as it's not working well and isn't very cold. Whilst there my little one also knocked a vase of the side table, sorry about that. Overall though we had a great stay.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
