"There was nothing wrong with the property at all, it worked perfectly for 3 adults two of whom were in their mid 80's."
The hazard tape on the indoor steps were really useful. My only negative take is the parking - the steps were horrendous, I couldn't see any lights so didn't use them at night - walking round to the car parking space was the best option for me. Generally, we all kept saying "wow this is really nice". The shower was fantastic, the location was perfect and generally fab. This is the first time I have booked with Sykes and I will look again in the future.

"Thank you.A great holiday"

"The position of Harbour watch is fantastic ."
This is its main selling point and does override some of the issues we had . Sadly we were sold the property as having a bath and unloading outside the property during the May fair . Sadly this was not true and was an issue as my wife is late stage Alzheimer’s. We have taken the compensation offered . Other minor niggles . The bed is so tight to the walls in the double that you WILL stub your toe . Also a bit stingy with what was left . You will need to bring your own milk , salt , pepper, kitchen towel , anti bacterial wipes , and only 0.5 cm of washing up Liquid left , so we had to go shopping . Also no dustpan and brush so difficult to clean up . Still however , its position is fantastic ! Worth noting that you can NOT drive from the car park straight to the front as it’s no entry . You have to go back to the Portland road and double back .

"Beautiful apartment."
Comfortable, clean, great location & reserved parking. BUT.... It was spoilt by being woken twice early hours (from 2:30/3am) when it rained due to broken guttering & the noise on the bedroom ceiling venting window (which also leaks). It sounded like someone had a hose at full bore on it. (You could hear from every room) I contacted Sykes on the Mon morning (messaged at about 3am - emailed). They rang me not long after they opened to apologise & said they'd contact the local maintenance guy. He rang me (pleasant chap) apologised & said they were aware of the issue (for a couple of months) & he was also trying to get the owner to replace the venting window. On the Fri during the day it poured down, good job we were back at the apartment as it was leaking so much we had to put a big bowl underneath otherwise it would have ruined the carpet or any of our belongings had anything been there. We stayed here a while ago before some of it was refurbished and really loved it. Would love to stay again, but not until this issue has been resolved - a holiday is supposed to be relaxing, we were lucky that for most of our stay we had good weather, but it certainly wouldn't be if you had lots of sleepless nights due to the noise & leak especially with the typical weather in the UK!

"In double bedroom such a racket when it rains perspex roof, plus the guttering on roof above must be leaking, also it leaks in had to put a bucket on the floor."

"Very lovely clean and tidy flat ,very central to everything ,love the artificial Lilly’s (where did you get them)"
-
"Could do with some curtains in the bedrooms, too bright in the morning."
the wifi is excellent but the TV could do with updating to make the most of streaming services in the evening and on rainy days. apart from that, beautiful apartment, excellent location, very well equipped, we had a wonderful time

"It was a-lovely apartment, but my mother who is 86, struggled with out any grab rails anywhere, it was in a great spot right opposite the harbour and so close to town."
-
"The property is in an ideal location and is of a very high standard will book again"
-
"Our stay at your property was altogether great, the only problem was that it rained for a couple our nights and we were kept awake by constant rain dripping from the guttering onto the flat roof."
Also the steps up to the parking area were deadly, they were all slippery with green moss so needed jet washing and a hand rail fitted all the way up.
-
"Fridge door shelves need repair/replacing, outside lighting is needed in back yard and steps upto the car park, apart from these issues the apartment is fabulous, comfortable and in an amazing location."
-
"The location of the property is fantastic with great views of the harbour and in a wonderful spot to enjoy the vibrancy of the pubs and restaurants."
I would have absolutely no reservations about recommending this apartment.
-
"The shower area needed a good clean as it was covered in black mould and the grout had turned red."
Also the big issue is the guttering from the top floor needs cleaning as it is overflowing on to the bedroom skylight so two nights we were unable to sleep in there. I saw this in some feedback a while ago so I expected this issue would have been sorted.

"The location was the best , very quiet at night even though so close to the harbour will definately come back."
Made a wonderful holiday complete

"Unable to park in our designated parking space for 4 nights out of 7 due to other cars parking in it."
This was a problem that was not resolved by Sykes who offered no compensation. The apartment was lovely and the position was great. Wonderful if you travel by train.

"This apartment is very convenient for the town, bars, shops and restaurants."
The rooms are lovely and comfortable and the view from the lounge is good for people and dog watching !! However, while we were there we experienced torrential rain on a few occasions and the skylight in the kitchen and main bedroom leaked. This obviously needs looking at. I have to agree with other comments regarding the washing machine - we arrived after a week in Torquay so some washing needed to be done. It looks dirty inside and needs attention. Parking is another problem - but there seems little anyone can do about it, the space allocated is very small and to get from the car down to the apartment is via lots of uneven steps. It’s much easier and safer to park up and walk to the front door via the roads. We would recommend The Ship Inn, Crustacean (superb dining experience) and Prezzo for food.

"Apartment was lovely, situated right in the heart of the harbour, just a couple of minor snags, parking was ok but if all 4 parking bays were being used then it would be tight for everyone, stairs going down to access the apartment steep and uneven, the property can be access from the front of the building, which is recommended, when it rains water drips off the main building onto the bedroom sky light , keeping you awake at night, heating did not work effectively turned it right up to 30 but only got luke warm, uneven flooring along hall way, ill fitted, check out time being 10am could be extended by an hour , we found even getting up at 7, and trying to pack up, and the access and parking issue and trying to clean and tidy the apartment before departure was tight."

"Harbour Watch 2 is a lovely flat and in an excellent location."
The flat is of a high standard and is very comfortable. It is a short walking distance to restaurants, shops and the beach. An ideal place to come back to after a busy day out.

"Cleaning could of been better to be honest did find an awful lot of long dark ..."
Cleaning could of been better to be honest did find an awful lot of long dark head hairs throughout and were hanging from the washing machine door when I went to use it I'm not aware of how long cleaners get to complete a clean in between lets nor do I know what state the last people left the property but with the current situation going on I would of thought would be a deeper clean in-between I had taken my own cleaning sprays etc so did anything as I went along if I noticed it however beds were beautifully made nice and fresh and clean although we arrived on a very wet day and bedroom skylight had been left open I'd imagine to air the room but it had rained in onto the wardrobe which could cause damage if done regularly just a thought radiator must have an issue in main bedroom also as a blue plastic bowl is placed underneath just ruins the look really of overall a lovely apartment and shame lack of outdoor seating it could benefit having some outside I had thought it did say it had in listing but I may be mistaken but worth a thought WiFi went down after first day and wasn't sorted out by by till day before we left which was a shame although dream cottages were great in what they could do as it was out of Thier control position of the apartment was fabulous and washing line in the garden was very useful overall a lovely spacious apartment in a lovely setting we had a lovely time

"The apartment was absolutely fantastic."
It was in a perfect location. The only problem was the car space but I went to the office and they helped me sort out the problem. No teapot but one was delivered later that day. Very impressed.

"Harbour Times is a stylish, comfortable well equipped appartment in an intriguing location with attractions and facilities within strolling distance."
Internal steps and the location of the parking space represented a challenge to octogenarians but we imagine that most guests won’t have any problems. Recommended.
