  • "Had a great week at Maisy Cottage, property very clean and comfortable with everything you need and more."

Perfect location for everything, We very much appreciated the welcome box and the milk that was in the fridge. We hope to return in the near future.

  • "Maisy Cottage is in an ideal location for walking into Weymouth."

5 minutes walk to the old harbour and 10 minutes into the centre for all the amenities and beach. The cottage was very clean upon arrival and the welcome box with tea, coffee, biscuits and milk was very much a lovely surprise. The only downfall was on our second night there , from around 6.30pm til 10pm there was constant loud banging coming from a neighbouring property. We tried to contact Sykes cottages and for emergencies it goes to a voicemail. We got a response the next day to say ‘building noise is not the responsibility of Sykes or the owner’, it was not building noise but a noisey neighbour so felt not listened to. Overall however, we had a lovely week away.

Hi, you have a very lovely Holiday home, with everything that you could possibly need, and we enjoyed our stay, but to nitpick the Toilet roll holder is to far away from the toilet, and to be honest, I don't know where you would put it other wise, but the main problem that I had, was there was no handrail to help get in and out of the bath/shower, I got stuck in the bath one night, and my son had to help me get out, I was quite embarrassed, so I never had a bath again, and I did have trouble getting in and out of the shower as the sides of the bath are quite high

  • "A ,lovely little cottage in a great position."

Easy walk into Weymouth and the coast path. A few more shelves in the living area would be useful and the TV channels need updating, otherwise everything we needed was provided. The welcome hamper was a nice touch. Only drawback was the rather tight parking space up a slope next to a curved unforgiving wall!

  • "For privacy, maybe a curtain for the front door would be a nice additional feature."

Few cobwebs in the property. Keysafe was hit and miss when trying to open, had to use a knife to help unwedge it. Nice facilities and well equipped property.

  • "We have stayed at Maisy Cottage before and this time was equally as good."

Ideal location not to far from everything and very near to some fabulous walks Newton's Cove and the Nothe and the Rodwell Trail being my favourites. Its comfortable, clean and the gift pack was amazing. Only one minor criticism the a lot of the Freeview TV channels seem to have disappeared and couldn't be retuned. We didn't follow it up as to be honest we were rarely in as the weather was amazing.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Maisy Cottage and would certainly return."

It is in a great position only a couple of minutes walk to the pubs but far enough away to get a good nights sleep. It is great for anyone wanting to go open water swimming as there are steps down right into the sea and less that a minutes walk. The dishwasher is a bonus, the kitchen is well equipped, beds are comfortable and the patio is lovely to sit out in. The only things that could be slightly better would be a bigger TV and I would be happy to pay an extra £20 for Netflix and maybe go and spend £20 at the charity shop for a couple of books, games and jigsaws. That being said I would still return without them.

  • "Couldn't fault the location, quiet area close to all harbour amenities."

However be prepared for a pretty BASIC stay. Very short on usual items such as loo paper, bin bags etc. Smart TV HD Box is not paired properly with the television ( a fault that has been reported as far back as May 2021). NOT one of Sykes better cottages.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are extremely lucky with our quiet location and being close to the harbour is very accessible for all. It is disappointing to read you found the property basic, we do only supply 1 toilet roll etc, as it is advertised as a fully self-catering holiday home. We supply 1 of most things out of courtesy for your arrival. Apologies you found issues with the TV set up, there are instructions in the welcome folder to assist with this. Previous issues with the tv set up have all been resolved. Also, in the welcome folder we do supply a contact number and email address for Dream Cottages, then if guests have any problems the team are on hand and always happy to help. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house and very clean."

We do think that Dream Cottages should take responsibility for recycling. We did our best and took some stuff to the recycling centre at Lodmoor but it’s not ideal having to do this on holiday and some people won’t bother. I am aware that you would have to pay the council for this but if is so important for companies to do the right thing environmentally.

  • "What a wonderful holiday we had."

Cottage as described. Perfect location to be close to the bay and restaurants/ bars but far enough away from the “main” town area. There were regular wild swimmers swimming in the bay. Which I would of loved to do, hopefully next time as we’ll definitely be back at Maisy’s. I agree with previous feedback that the fridge really could do with being bigger especially if making good use of the well stocked kitchen. The sky box wasn’t working properly but we took are own Roku box so it didn’t bother us. A very enjoyable stay.

  • "We had a one week holiday in Weymouth, having not visited the area before and it exceeded our expectations, with it being better than Cornwall and Devon in our opinion."

We spent half the time in Weymouth itself and three days on day trips to other good attractions in the area. The accommodation itself was perfect and equally important is in a perfect location from where the key parts are readily walkable. It is literally only five minutes walk from the south side of the harbour which is the best part of the town with its pubs and eateries. Cross over the bridge and the northern side of the harbour is then joined onto both the shopping area of the town and also the long esplanade, sandy beach and beautiful scenery out to sea. Also on the doorstep of the property is the enchanting Northe park. The only possible item of criticism I could find is that it does not state that the allocated parking space is on a steep slope which some people may not be comfortable with. Other than that, it is a great little property in an ideal location.

Buttoned mattress makes bed seem lumpy but we got used to it. Had problems with the “SMART” TV. No players available, no catchup TV available and the local news was tuned to the East Midlands. The writing on the Sky remote was rubbed off and therefore illegible - had to look at a photo of it on the internet to use it. Feel sure this could all be fixed fairly easily.
