  • "Lovely house in an excellent area."

Close to shops and beach. The 2 parking permits were a great bonus as we were able to park cars and leave them for the week. House suited us perfectly with 4 adults and 2 children. Only thing I would say was missing was a clothes airer, there is a washing line outside but with the unpredictable weather an airer would have been useful. Would definitely book again.

  • "The property is in a perfect location for the harbour restaurants, bars, and shops."

I have stayed in the property next door twice so we New it was convenient for everything. The kitchen was very well equipped with a good washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, which was invaluable with a small child and a baby. There’s a lovely big dining table for all of us to sit round together 5 adults, we enjoyed some meals prepared by us (plenty of cooking equipment) but takeaways as well. The lounge is a little small but not a problem at all, the bedrooms are all very comfortable with good beds and us all having plenty of room and the on suite bathrooms a bonus. The parking is fine once you find a space which we did very near the property on a busy Saturday teatime. We had a lovely holiday and would love to come again soon. Thank you

  • "This was our third stay at the New Boathouse, so we knew exactly what we were going to get, and we were not disappointed."

We were also aware of the challenges of finding a parking space, which is the only downside but the house is so central that everything you want is within walking distance.

  • "Our only grumble was a) the lack of reading lamps, particularly in the top floor bedrooms."

Some lamps in the lounge would be nice too, as the ceiling light is a bit harsh. b) the lack of places to hang clothes/towels, again, on the top floor especially. Other than that, a very comfortable property, and an excellent position. We thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the harbour and all areas of interest.

  • "Cottage in a good position close to the harbour and high street."

A nicely appointed cottage, lovely kitchen diner space. Our only critisism is that, despite not being able to access the cottage until 5 pm due to "deep cleaning", there were areas for concern regarding cleanliness: Scruffy old mat in front of the garden access door was dirty. Kitchen floor not particularly clean. A very dirty grill tray in the oven. Rubbish (old dental brush and an old key fob) down the side of the bedside cabinet in the master bedroom. We felt that the property had certainly NOT been deep cleaned.

  • "The cleanliness was quite poor."

We had to wash every piece of cutlery and crockery in the cupboards before use, dust on skirting boards and TV unit area that had obviously been there for weeks, tea stains on window sill. The kitchen cupboards had leftover crumbs and food in there and was stained too. Kitchen table cloth was dirty and stained, same table cloth when we stayed here 3 years ago!! The garden/yard was quite uninviting, just uneven slabs with dirty plastic cheap garden furniture. Not suitable for children or elderly. Location however is great, but quite noisy with the pub opposite when the deliveries arrive! Bedrooms were OK, however pillows very hard and the shower on top floor had not been cleaned properly and had mould. Would not stay here again.

  • "We were not able to check in until 5PM due to the extended time needed for the cleaning, which considering the check out time for the previous guests was 10am, meant there was seven hours cleaning time."

It also meant that a large proportion of the first day of our holiday was over by the time we had unloaded our cars and put our things away. Unfortunately, there were a number of issues: Half an opened bottle of squash left on the floor in the living room. A cup with lipstick on it. Some kitchen cupboards had not been cleaned. The inside of the kitchen bin was dirty. The dustpan was warped and not fit for purpose. A piece of carpet, used as an outside doormat resulted in wet footprints over the floor when coming in from outside. Stains on mattress protectors on both beds on the first floor. Garden furniture appeared not to have been cleaned for a very long time. Inside windows were dirty. The toaster only has one side working. Add to that that there wasn't any non slip mats in the shower trays and one shower tray kept overflowing. As stated in some reviews the lounge suite was probably the most uncomfortable we've ever sat on. Also, beds were not the most comfortable but appreciate they might suit others. On the positive side, there was a reasonable amount of space and it was in a well appointed area.

Close to harbour and centre. The house was well laid out for large family holiday. Two parking permits supplied for on street parking close by. Found spaces fairly easily. Local neighbour noticed we had parked in one space that was outside the permit spaces provided and property owner very kindly contacted us to move our vehicle. This prevented us getting a penalty notice ticket which we noticed another vehicle was given later in the week in the same space, We really appreciated the call. Would definitely recommend and book again in the future,

Very lucky to have been in Weymouth for a very sunny Christmas day, experiencing the annual harbour swim and then champagne on the beach! Lots of friendly bars and restaurants too. Boat house great for our group with lovely large kitchen area to sit and chat. A few things missing to make stay even more comfortable: Knives - very blunt had to go and buy a set Mirrors - no mirror in top floor bathroom or bedrooms

  • "Bathrooms and kitchen appliances all in great condition."

Lovely showers. Good bed linen and lovely bedrooms but double bed in back bedroom rather uncomfortable. In our opinion lounge suite although clean, not very comfortable and we brought a table lamp down from the bedroom to make the room more cosy. House in great situation for both eating places and all the shops. Only thing that would prevent us rebooking is lack of parking. A permit is issued but because of free one hour parking, which didn’t seem to be policed, it would probably be very difficult to find a space during the summer. We usually managed to grab the last free space during October. Failed to find the visitor’s book so missed having tips on eating places etc which are always useful to know.

  • "Fantastic cottage, lots of equipment provided (saucepans, toaster, microwave, microwaveable dishes, oven, roasting/pie pans, fridge/freezer, cutlery and crockery)."

Towels, soap and washing up/dishwasher tablets provided. Comfortable seating and a really good sized dining table. Plenty of entertainment in the cottage with books, DVDs, Sky TV and jigsaws. The beds were all good. The 'child sized' single is suitable for a shorter adult, I'm, 5'2" and slept very well on it. Dishwasher and washing machine worked very well and rotary line provided in the courtyard. All the family (adults only) loved the cottage. Parking is a bit hit and miss as the permit zones are also available for 1 hour without a permit but generally found a space, but there are plenty of car parks near by if you can't find one. Plenty to do in Weymouth in walking distance from the cottage. The building work didn't disturb us and was an advantage as it meant the road was closed so pedestrian access only.

It is a spacious and comfortable house. The only thing that I can fault is upon arrival no tea and biscuits available. In other houses that we have rented, there has always been a welcome tray. After a long journey it was missed. Weymouth exceeded all our expectations too. It is a fun place to be with something for every age group. The Fish Fest was nice too.

Layout, use of space and finish was excellent for two families to share. When staying for a week we did miss a few basics like a cheese grater (which we've now left one in the kitchen for the next guests), large drinking glasses, batteries in the clock so it worked (it was always correct twice a day!) and a radio in the kitchen. We fully appreciate not everyone would use a grater, listen to the radio or want to drink a pint of beer however as s group we felt this would make it more homely and less like a rental property. We loved the Old Boathouse and would definately return. Thank you.
