  • "My wife and I stayed with our two grandchildren (aged 11 and 9) and we were all very pleased with the property."

It is very well situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, but within easy walking distance to the harbour. It's clean and comfortable, well equippped with loads of cupboard space and the owners look to have taken on board the (minor) negative comments from earlier reviews and rectified them wherever possible. My wife struggled with locking and unlocking the front door, but always managed it in the end. It's the only reason I didn't give Sea Pebbles a five star review.

  • "Very well equipped and comfortable property in a great location, so easy to walk to local attractions."

Parking on site a real bonus. Would be helpful to leave a note in the folder informing guests of the microwave oven wattage. A minor point but the inside of the microwave was quite rusty so may want to check that out. Hope to book again one day as such a relaxing house to stay in.

  • "Intially dissapointed at no welcome pack after spending the most we have on a Skyes property (we book several times a year), it got worse when we realised there was no milk or even any toilet paper!"

? We struggled to find any cleaning tools and we eventually discovered them becsuse the lowest floor living area door covers the downstairs cupboard door if left open. Also broken lock & no bath plug in main bathroom. We were lucky to have good weather all the time & we were generally happy, but wouldn't recommend this property especially to less mobile.

  • "An excellent holiday property within a short walk of the harbour, town and beaches."

A big bonus is the safe driveway parking for one car. The house has been completely redecorated with new carpets and is comfortably furnished. The property could be improved if a second small TV was fitted in the kitchen/dining room (useful to watch the news and weather over breakfast). On a negative point the TV in the sitting room would not always turn on and the only way to then get it to work, was to turn the TV off at the power point, count to 10 and then turn the power back on to re-boot the TV software. It then worked ok. p.s. Both the bathroom towel rails only get hot on the bottom half, so a quick 5 minute job to bled the air from each towel rail. Overall a nice property that I would recommend (as long as you are fit enough for 3 floors).

I was very dissapointed with holiday we went days without hot water then we had two separate people to try to fix it they did and then the hot water went again the same plumber came and put another immersion in and fixed it again but could not promise it would be OK he fitted two new parts and said he renewed it two weeks previous to this said the system was no good and needs renewing so three days without hot water, cups and plates in cupboard had tea stains so had to wash them before I could use them, bath plughole filled with hair so would not seal until I cleaned it out we left the place spotless and hovered it all, I think for the price I paid for the cottage and the hassle I had I should be given a refund for the inconvienance please advise hope you can resolve this m ryman

Really sorry you had problems We have just completely renovated the house top to bottom and fitted complete new heating system and added another shower in main bathroom too. Property Owner

  • "A lovely little property, well designed and in a quiet corner of Weymouth yet close to the local attractions and facilities."

We found beds comfortable. On-property parking is a major benefit. Instruction manual well written (though note comment below regarding TV operation). Wi-fi worked as it should. Unclear how to manage recyclables vs other rubbish. On arrival the property was clean, well equipped and with minimal consumables in place. Made a great place for 3 people to stay for a few days (six would possibly find it cramped). Note: the less mobile need to be aware that the property is spread over 3 floors. However, with the vastly inflated prices being charged for such properties at the moment (even out of season) I don't think it would be unreasonable for issues previously noted in reviews to be attended to during the low season. The en-suite shower cubicle still needs a deep clean (or, better still, regrouting). Bathrooms need locks. Taps (notably in en-suite) are stiff and possibly failing with low flow. Cloakroom needs a towel. Trying to operate the TV is a nightmare (instructions in notes are minimal and inaccurate). Further, showers cannot be taken in the main bathroom (no screens and a carpeted floor). Most people take showers most days so for 3 this was a push and 6 would be a real challenge in the single en-suite shower! Several areas of paintwork need minor attention where previous repairs have not been properly redecorated. Edging to shoe rack in hall coming loose (refix before it is broken). Oh and thos ekey safes which are widely used are very poor - code can be set correctly but still difficult to open as there is no handle; does anyone make a well designed one? A second set of keys was appreciated though. The above is mostly offered as constructive criticism for the owner but the grouting issue is old and has not been addressed. We'd happily revisit if the inflated price is addressed out of season (and would probably result in fewer voids for the owner too).

  • "The house was ok - as expected."

Near the beach/near to town and a small convenience store within walking distance. It was clean, warm and tidy although did feel quite small with 5 of us staying (2 adults and 3 children). There was adequate storage space for clothing and luggage was stored in a cupboard downstairs. Internet was good quality and tv had freesat. Basic cleaning gear supplied but nothing to clean kitchen or bathrooms with - surely it wont break the bank to provide a toilet cleaning liquid and something for the bathrooms/showers etc. Only 4 things to comment on: 1. The house is on 3 levels, be aware if you have trouble with stairs. 2. The mattresses in all bedrooms are thin and the cheapest quality but especially the bunk bed rooms; my children (8 and 5 ) complained about the springs poking through. The 2 singles were not much better. I often think less of owners who pay lip service to comfort and think as long as there are mattresses on a bed, they have done their duty. Anyone over 25kg could not sleep on the mattresses provided. 3. There was also a missing blind in the kitchen which did affect privacy and which I called Dream cottages about. A week into my stay a replacement blind was dropped off but never fitted - despite me staying an additional 9 days after delivery. 4. The TV in the lounge is too small for the size of the house and again, given the price charged, feel a bigger TV would be justified.

  • "This house was not COVID clean."

The kitchen worktop around the hob was sticky, dried food on the utensils and some bowls/plates not clean. The main bathroom - light above sink did not work, jacuzzi bath does not work and plug in bath leaked water then took 3 hrs for bath water to disperse as plug would not pop up. Ensuite shower - Dirty, the shower head is broken and the actual shower unit needs some serious descaling. There was dirt and grime around the shower door and the grout between the tiles was orange in places. The floor was dirty in the corners too. The folder of ‘welcome’ notes was out of date. Some restaurants are closed down, the WiFi password and router is completely different and the TV is totally unwatchable. There is no DVD player or Sky+ HD box (which is what the folder of notes claim there to be) and every channel glitches - that’s if you can even get a signal in the first place. The only good thing about this property was the location.

  • "When we arrived we reported some faults to the Dream Cottages Office, These faults were bulbs needed to be replaced in the living room and bathroom, towel rail in kitchen was hanging off and the toilet brush in the en suite bathroom was broken."

Credit to the lady in the office, she got the repairs done that day, the maintenance man failed to return and fix the kitchen towel rail as he promised he would do. The Cleaners FAILED to notify the office regarding the above so the first night we spent in near darkness, they also FAILDED to empty the hoover, which my husband did. He also washed the sponge filter because it was extremely dirty. I felt the property was not given the deep clean as it should of been especially with helping to reduce the spread of coronavirus

  • "The house was not as clean as expected, it was evident that a superficial clean had been done but table and counter tops were quite dusty."

Bathrooms and the guest toilet could also have been cleaner. Given the Covid 19 concerns we expected more attention to detail. The fridge and freezer are too small for a unit that is designed to accommodate 6 people, we were a party of 4 and struggled. A barbeque would be a nice touch.

Only a few steps from the front door and you are welcomed with far reaching views over The Nothe Fort, Portland, and along the Jurassic Coastline.

A beautifully presented house offering all you need for a Weymouth seaside holiday.

Rather deceptively this house appears as a two-storey home from the front, however it is actually over 3 floors.

On the lower ground floor is a spacious sitting room which opens out onto the landscaped and enclosed garden and various seating areas.

The ground floor offers a spacious and well-equipped kitchen diner everything needed to create a delicious meal is in the cupboards.

On the first floor are 3 comfortable bedrooms, perfect for a refreshing sleep before another day of holiday adventures in Dorset.

Being just a 3-4 minute walk from the harbour, you will find cafes and restaurants, and there are a variety of options for fish and chips on the harbourside, a Dorset tea and apple cake or local ice cream.

From the harbour, it’s a gentle walk into the town centre and Weymouth's award-winning beach and esplanade.

Venturing further afield, you are only a short drive from many other incredible locations, around 15 minutes from Portland, with it's stunning views, hidden beaches and lighthouse, or a short drive of around 30 minutes in the other direction will see you visiting the monkey rescue centre at Monkey world or world heritage sites, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

Whatever you decide to do on your Dorset holiday, Sea Pebbles offers the perfect base for a family.
