• "What a great cottage well equipped with everything you need and very comfortable."

• "The cottage was just as described."

  Very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Emma gave us a warm welcome, and was keen to ensure everything was ok. Not great weather, but I’m sure that in spring/summer it will be lovely to sit out on the enclosed terrace in the sun.

• "What a gem of a property!"

  We thoroughly enjoyed our pre-Christmas getaway at The Coach House. The Christmas tree and Christmas treats were a lovely additional, as well as the infamous homemade blueberry jam of course! The property itself is simply lovely, beautifully decorated by Emma. You really have made it a home from home. Brilliant communication as well from Emma, nothing was ever a problem if we had to message. This really is one of the best properties we’ve had the pleasure of staying in. We will definitely be back!   Such a pretty cottage and perfect for Christmas time, with a sweet Christmas tree and log fire. There are lovely little touches that are really special. It's beautifully decorated and immaculate. White Lackington is lovely and quiet with good local walks and a nice pub you can get to through the fields.

• "Fabulous gem, off the beaten path but very well suited for our visit to Dorset."

  Clean, very comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, plenty of blankets and games to rest by the fire. From this location we saw Durdle Door, Portland, Old Bill of Portland, Tank Museum, went clay pigeon shooting in Purbeck, visited Weymouth and Nothe Fort, had a Land Rover 'Safari' tour on the Isle of Purbeck and enjoyed a lovely meal at The Thimble Inn. • "A stunning cottage which has everything needed to make for a highly enjoyable stay."

  The owners are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive - the cottage is very private. It is spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standards, with high quality furnishings and equipment. It is also very quiet. Within easy reach of many attractions as well as coastal walks, it makes for a great place for a holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our week.

• "This is a lovely place to stay in quiet, peaceful surroundings."

  Emma was there to greet us when we arrived and there was a welcome pack in the kitchen. There is a great village pub half a mile down the road that serves excellent food. Burton Bradstock is a really nice seaside village 20 miles away. We would love to stay here again, cannot fault in any way.

• "The Coach House at Lackington Farm is set in countryside so perfect it makes normal rural settings look untidy and dull, not a blade of grass out of place."

  The house itself matches this incredible scenery and makes you feel right at home. The accommodation, though compact but not small, works incredibly well and provides a comfortable and central base from which to explore the surrounding area. We were impressed with the roads giving easy access whether it's Cerne Abbas, Sherbourne or Dorchester, Weymouth and many other destinations within a 30 minutes drive; the Tank Museum is a real blast. Anyway, The Coach House is highly recommended and we thank Emma, who has an eye for the details that makes you feels spoilt and is all the difference between a great holiday and one that is molto bellissimo.

• "Very well presented with lots of personal touches."

  Very practical and delicious 'Welcome Tray' with lovely cake and local honey. Enjoyed the patio with comfortable seats/cushions. Very clean, parking excellent right outside the door and location good for visiting local area attractions. Owners friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The Thimble is a popular good pub serving food within walking distance.

• "The Coach House at Lackington Farm is perfect!"

  Everything is of an extremely high quality including all the soft furnishings and added extras that some holiday cottages lack. There is everything you need for a very comfortable holiday. The bonus for us was the solitude, the only sound we heard were the sheep in the field! It is perfectly situated for the Jurassic coast and also many lovely towns like Dorchester and Sherborne. We met Emma who owns the property with her husband Andrew and she couldn't have been more helpful. The blueberry jam they make is amazing. All in all the best place we've ever stayed and will definitely stay there again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

• "The Coach House at Lackington Farm is a real gem."

  The cottage is immaculately presented, and set in a beautiful part of Dorset, in the village of Piddletrenthide. There are lots of places to visit within a short drive, such as Weymouth, Sherborne , Lyme Regis & Dorchester. All are worth a visit. The hosts, Emma & Andy are so friendly, and make you feel right at home. All the furniture and fittings are top-notch, and the cottage is scrupulously clean. The local pub ( about a mile down the road) is second to none, and does great food. It is a thatched building, and is so picturesque. It also has a beer garden, and an excellent selection of ales. A visit here is a must. This was our second visit, and before leaving we re-booked for next year! Would thoroughly recommend this property. Fabulous! Gary & Julie Watson.

• "The Coach House is very elegant, unusual and comfortably furnished - just as described at Sykes Cottages."

  You can spend pleasant hours on the sun terrace. The location is ideal for exploring the sightseeings of Dorset including the Jurassic Coast. A cottage that leaves almost nothing to be desired. For visitors from overseas, it would be perfect if the kitchen had little things like a little vinegar and oil or kitchen roll - everything that is difficult to transport by plane and cannot be bought in small quantities.

• "A beautifully maintained property with comfy beds and a friendly owner."

  Perfectly located to see all the wonderful things Dorset has to offer with the bonus of an excellent pub just down the road. The kitchen was well equipped for self catering and the welcome hamper meant we didn't need to head out for the essentials on the first night. The sofas were comfy and the log burner made for cosy evenings. The little touches - maps, books of walks, blankets, picnic hamper meant you felt like you were really being spoilt. The only slight negative for us was the shower, which wasn't as powerful as we'd like - being in a hard water area I can imagine this is a never ending battle with limescale. We mentioned it to Emma on leaving the property and I'm sure it will be descaled for the next guests. Thank you Emma for being so welcoming, we'd love to return.

  Emma greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us all the Coach House had to offer The personal touches of a Christmas tree, home made Christmas cake, home made blackberry jam (both delicious), tin of tea, chocolates and a pint of milk in the fridge was an excellent start our stay There was a folder with all the information needed to operate all the different gadgets and recommendations of places to visit and eat out which was useful The Coach House was tastefully decorated and the kitchen was fitted out with high quality equipment We really enjoyed relaxing in front of the log burner after being blown about in the gales and rain that we experienced, but that was soon forgotten in the cosy environment Due to the inclement weather we were unable to enjoy the outside sitting area which was a shame as it would have been great to have star watched in the lovely space We appreciated the large soft fluffy Egyptian towels that had been left for us to use And we liked the quirkiness of the upside down house where we went downstairs to bed which we found to be comfortable We even were treated to an owl hooting to us one morning - which was fab to hear Thank you Emma The Coach House was perfect for our stay And we would recommend a visit to the beautiful Dorset and the cosy welcoming Coach House at Lackington Farm

• "We had a wonderful stay at The Coach House."

  The cottage is beautiful with every attention to detail; comfy beds and sofas, well equipped kitchen with beautiful crockery, wood burner, cosy blankets. There is a beautiful uncluttered simplicity to the house. We appreciated the many thoughtful touches including the arrival treats. Emma let us know that she was available if we had any needs and she and her family welcomed us warmly. It is a peaceful location with lovely walks from the front door. We loved hearing the sound of the tawny owl in the tree outside our bedrooms at night. My only advice is to bring wellies if visiting at this time of year. The area was wet and muddy but for us that only only added to the fun! Highly recommend this place and the award they have won is well deserved. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

• "Emma was very welcoming, with some good tips for visiting Sherborne town and Abbey, also the Thimble Inn, which was fab!"

  The Coach house has everything you need for a comfy stay. Well equipped kitchen, including cleaning products and plenty of cooking equipment and all important a good quality cooker/hob and washer/drier. Comfy sofas in the living room/dining room and more importantly comfy beds! Plenty of towels in the shower room, and all the little extras. Plenty of outdoor seating, if you get good weather! Will definitely be re visiting.

• "Emma, the owner, welcomed us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the property which was a really nice introduction."

  The coach house has plenty of character and has been very well finished to make it feel stylish and functional. It was very peaceful sitting in the patio area at night looking at the stars and hearing owls hooting. At the end of our stay my wife had lost an earring and Emma said she would look for it when they cleaned for the next visitors. Luckily she found it and posted it to us. Great service. • "A delightful stay in this beautiful, quiet, comfortable location."

  The property is in an excellent location, both tranquil and peaceful but near enough to amenities that you may need during your holiday. The Coach House exceeded our expectations from the old to the new. It was very comfortable clean, well equipped. Well presented with little touches like the welcome tray on arrival which after along drive was well received. Emma the host was very warm and welcoming and the information pack was very detailed, with lots of recommendations to visit and eat. Fully recommend The Thimble Inn for ambience, character and charm. A fabulous menu catering for all palettes and the staff were amazing. This was our first visit to Dorset and we will definitely be returning and hope to stay again soon.

  The facilities are excellent, and beautifully clean. The private on-site parking space is a real bonus. The hosts, Emma & Andy are very welcoming, and make you feel at home. There are so many great places to visit in the vicinity, without travelling too far. The Thimble Inn in the village is amazing.   The Owners were very welcoming on arrival and showed us around the beautiful cottage. The fixtures and fittings are of a high quality and the bedrooms very comfortable. The location is spectacular, beautiful countryside and lovely walks on your doorstep. The outside area of the cottage is very private and comfortable and so quiet, we were lucky with the weather so took advantage. • "A lovely cottage in a quiet location great for relaxing."

  The cottage is very comfortable & has all you need. It’s within driving distance of many beaches and places to visit. Dorchester is close by with lots of places to eat. • "The coach house is a beautifully appointed home from home set in idyllic surroundings with only the bird song to disturb your peace."

  Emma and Andy were perfect hosts and couldn’t have been kinder or more willing to help if we needed it. The weather wasn’t all that good whilst we were there, but on a couple of days we were actually content just to chill out, eat, read, and watch tv. The private patio at the back was wonderful - I’m only sad that we didn’t get to use it! Came home feeling thoroughly refreshed. Can highly recommend this holiday home.

  The accommodation was so comfortable and we immediately felt at home, everywhere was spotless and so tastefully decorated. Lovely touches, especially appreciated the basket of blankets to snuggle up in, perfect addition when the wood burning stove is lit and you have a glass of wine in your hand! • "The Coach House is in a great location amongst rolling countryside offering peace and tranquillity."

  Emma is a friendly, helpful hostess. The property has just been completely renovated and is extremely comfortable making it one of the best self catering places I have stayed in. The surrounding area offers much in the way of walks, antiques fairs, houses and gardens to visit plus proximity to the beautiful, dramatic Jurassic coastline. You will not be disappointed.

• "I had a very enjoyable week at the 'upside-down' Coach House."

  The house is nicely kitted out, with comfortable sofas and beds and everything you need for a relaxing break. There are footpaths and bridleways close by and good walking routes in the guide left by the owners. Cerne Abbas is not far away and has a well-stocked shop. A great place to stay!

• "We stayed in this delightful property for two weeks."

  It is an ideal and tranquil location to visit beautiful Dorset. Everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.   Emma could not do enough for us. The place is spotlessly clean with a lovely patio to the rear. The Coach House is situated in a beautiful and quiet little hamlet with The Thimble Inn within walking distance that serves excellent food. The Coach House location is close to many great attractions. In fact too many to do in a week so a return is a must.

The cottage includes a terrace that is secluded and restful and the stroll to The Thimble and the village is beautiful. Piddletrenthide still has the Dorset village feel - something that is increasingly rare.   The house itself was beautiful, clean and tidy and such a relaxing place to finish a days exploring (especially on the sun trap patio with a cold glass of wine!). The location is absolutely perfect whether it’s for beach days or for walking and exploring towns. The finishing touches at the cottage added that extra something to our stay. Emma, Andy and Frazer could not have been more welcoming or helpful with places to visit. We really didn’t want to leave, and hope to be back in the future!   We enjoyed a lovely week and was impressed by the overall cleanliness and attention to detail to ensure our comfort. We particularly appreciated the bedrooms being on the lower floor as during our stay we were fortunate to have hot sunshine the whole time and the bedroom was really cool and comfortable whilst being able to appreciate the view from the living room and enjoy sitting out on the patio.
