"A comfortable and well equipped flat."
Lovely welcome hamper. Great views over the town to the sea. Two parking spaces; a real bonus in Lyme. Would benefit from the cleaner looking up to see the cobwebs and down to see the dust on skirtings, but otherwise the standard of cleaning was good! Only negative comment would be that the 4pm check-in time seems a bit on the late side given the relatively high price.

"We were a family of five and this property was perfect for us and the views of the bay were amazing."

"Excellent well appointed apartment."
Views from the windows were stunning. Everything we needed and more. Made full use of the array of glassware making cocktails. Only gripes were the poor function of the shower door in en suite. Considering we are asked to be considerate neighbours, it’s very noisy. Would definitely consider again if revisiting Lyme Regis.

"The property was fabulous."
Location was great. Only drawbacks were that all of the sofas amd beds are really low so are a struggle if you suffer from any back or joint issues. Also the info on the location of bins and the recycling rules needs to be clearer. No food recycling bags were supplied.

"Our family of four adults and two children stayed in this apartment for a week in August."
The apartment is really lovely with fantastic views of the sea from the kitchen/diner/lounge which is open plan and very spacious. The beds although comfy, were really low and for the older generation, quite hard to get out off. It felt like you were sleeping on the floor. The shower in the en-suite is also very small and compact. Like the previous reviewer (Kevin - June 2024) my experience of booking through Sykes has been very painful to say the least. We have booked our holiday through this company for the last couple of years but definitely will not be using them again. I still have not received a response to a question I raised with them from June. The only way to contact them is via what’s app as their live chat was down on every occasion I tried to get hold of them. The worst customer service I have experienced for a long time!

"Can't fault the property itself at all."
Our party genuinely enjoyed our stay in a well maintained, clean, comfortable, secure (property itself plus parking) and well appointed "penthouse" apartment. The views down into Lyme Bay from the Lounge/Dining area were pretty spectacular too. On the other side of the coin, won't be booking anything through Sykes Cottages again. Initial email contact went OK and a deposit was made. From that point onward dealing with Sykes was abysmal. There were automated email responses to questions that didn't address the issue. Finding phone contact numbers for Sykes was a challenge. Once made, on more than one occasion, phone hold times were in excess of 20 minutes. When phone contact was achieved, undertakings to return calls weren't followed up - generating yet more calls/lengthy wait times. The only positive (apart from the property stay itself) about dealing with Sykes occurred when we arrived at Wessex House (across the road from the property) to pick up keys and move in. The Lyme Bay Holiday Rentals Management Team at Wessex House couldn't have been more willing to help, right throughout our month long stay. During our extended stay in the UK we've rented 3 properties through 3 companies. Sykes, you are by far the cellar dwellers.

"Lightbulbs needed replacement in kitchen area (minor inconvenience)."
Lack of instruction in the apartment on how to recycle waste, you can find this on the actual bins outside when you take the rubbish out: too late? Apartment quite well equipped and situated. Definitely not for some aging people or those with mobility issues; very steep hill down to the beach.

"Lovely apartment with sea views, spotlessly clean, well equipped, good location, quiet and comfortable, with parking outside."
All we could wish for. Minor gripe - uncomfortable, hard mattresses on single beds.

"We had a wonderful stay at 13 Buckfields."
Brilliant kitchen equipped with everything you need. Perfect location with stunning view! We would definitely come back again!

"Fabulous flat and views, the photos don't do it full justice!"
! 2 parking spaces and plenty of free parking outside. The living area is massive and such a nice space. All the facilities you could need for your stay plus games and cd's. Quick walk into town and access to various walks. Heating is a little complicated but just turn up to 19 and the rads turn on. We'll be back says all you need to know.

"A spotlessly clean, comfortable ,well equipped flat with lovely views from 3 windows."
It is on the third floor but there is a lift. Parking is good and behind electric gates. There was very little road noise even though it is situated on one of the main roads in Lyme Regis leading to the beach. The flat is located on top of a steep hill which would perhaps be a challenge for older occupants. Also the two larger beds were low to the floor which could also be a problem, however the two single beds were higher. We had a lovely stay and would recommend this flat.

"This was a wonderful holiday property."
It is very well equipped and has everything you could need for a luxury stay. Very good attention to detail with all amenities, including a welcome hamper of local goodies.

"As a three generation family we really enjoyed our stay at 13 Buckfields."
The beds were really comfortable to sleep in, although the double beds are quite low for those of us of advanced years or with mobility issues. We loved the uplifting sea views from the lounge although mostly only visible when standing or sitting at the high stools in the dining area window. The kitchen is well stocked and and we had everything we needed. We appreciated that cleaning products, dishwasher tablets and hand soap were provided. The lounge seating is comfortable for a family and plentiful board games and a jigsaw puzzle enhanced our stay. The two car parking spaces were a necessity for us and one space is wider, which is helpful when getting children in and out of the car. The local agents delivered a safety bath mat on request. The downhill walk into town and the uphill return were manageable for the adults in our party and Lyme Regis is a lovely base for a family holiday.

"The photos on the Web page are very accurate to the actual property and we were very pleased, however the only thing that we found was there was no hot water on the 2nd day and I did ring and received a text to say that someone would call me back."
I didn't receive any correspondence. We finally looked in the airing cupboard and switched on the emersion heater. This was a little disappointing. The only other small thing was, as I like to cook on holiday, is that it just needs a cheese grater!! The test of the kitchen equipment is spot on.
Thank you for your comments, we're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Sorry to hear that your request for assistance wasn't responded to. As a local agency in Lyme we do encourage our guests to contact us directly so that we can attend to any issues. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"Lovely spacious apartment, well kitted out for a relaxing stay."
Stunning views and always a breeze to keep the temperature down in the main room.

"We had a lovely stay at 13 Buckfields, it was spotlessly clean and very well appointed the addition of all the books, DVDs and games was very welcome."
-
"A great apartment with good facilities."
Suited our family very well. Great sea view and the binoculars were a nice touch. Well furnished and comfortable. Light carpets a bit of a risk with children - possibly put a mat under the table. 2 parking spaces were gratefully used. Top floor penthouse so very quiet during our stay. Lift was essential with a pushchair and luggage to carry up 2 floors. Great position to go down into the town, not so great going back up the hill. Opposite Lyme bay holidays so easy to collect and drop off the keys.

"Absolutely loved the apartment."
Really well equipped, fab location and super comfy beds!! Perfect for a family get away over new year.

"Lovely spacious accommodation, beautiful view of the sea."
Warm and quiet. Only a couple of comments for improvement: 1. When emptying the rubbish bin, the bottom of the bag was open. So, rubbish allover the floor as we were about to leave. The spare bag was also open at the bottom as well. 2. The lights in the bedroom not good enough for reading. Would suggest taller bedside lights with white shades.

"We loved the flat, the furnishings and the wonderful view."
Just a couple of issues which we brought to the attention of Lyme Bay Holidays. The ensuite shower door appears to have lost its roller and was tricky to open as it was scraping along the bottom. The shower heads needed replacing, as they were worn out. I'm sure both issues will be sorted out. We would recommend this flat.
