• "A completely incredible hidden gem of a haven where you arrive and instantly feel more than at home."

  So peaceful and tranquil. 10* immaculately and faultlessly clean. We found so much love and thought has gone into creating this incredible space and place for the absolute perfect break away. No wide-angle lenses used when photographing both inside and out. The views are breath-taking, absolutely stunning – there are no words to begin to describe this! Beautiful fresh clean bed linen. The kitchen has an immaculate counter size fridge with a small built in freezer area, two hob electric cooker and oven below, microwave, toaster, kettle (all absolutely pristine), and every utensil you may ever need! A really lovely welcome hamper of ground coffee, sugar, tea, cookies, cheese biscuits, dog treats, milk in the fridge, a bottle of vintage cider, and beautiful fresh flowers. In the bathroom there’s a nice clean shower (sink and toilet of course!). Again this space was immaculately clean and really nice, there’s an ironing board, washing machine, clothes airer, hoover etc. A super super comfortable sofa, TV, selection of DVDs, board games, really good wifi. The grounds/garden around the studio are full of mature trees and beautiful plants. The place is set back away enough from the owners house for you to enjoy your own personal space and break away. Area wise, loads to explore - travel any direction from the studio and you will find fantastic food, natural beauty, history, walks and just wonderful really genuinely friendly people (just as the owners). Thank you so much for sharing this amazing space and all the thought and hard work that has gone into creating the haven you have. • "Enjoyable stay at Trister studio, although must say we had a few bruises getting used to the apex beams."

  Views were stunning but would benefit from a glass balcony to appreciate these when sat down. Studio is well equipped with everything you would need despite being compact. Not sure about the abundance of fluffy cushions for hygiene reasons, and recycling bins meant a trek down every day to fill 5 different ones as no space upstairs. However the place & surrounding areas were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

  You will find everything you require for your stay, with a huge cushion laden sofa to chill out on after a day of adventures. Your welcome will be warm and helpful, I enjoyed the wonderful welcome basket of goodies. It is a beautiful place, so if you can trot up the stairs to the loft & remember the eaves above the comfy bed, you will have a delightful stay in an area that offers plenty of walking and historic areas to visit. • "The cottage was lovely and as described."

  The owner gave a covid friendly welcome and was reassuring when I rang her prior to the visit to check what covid cleaning regime she followed. Fantastic views and walks from the cottage. Wincanton was close by and had everything we required. The settee looked comfortable but was actually really uncomfortable. Anyone taller than 5”10 will need to mind their heads as the beams are low at the sides. All in all a lovely break in a high standard cottage.

• "We had a lovely stay at this property despite the weather being pretty awful."

  It has all you need for a comfortable stay. It is compact but definitely cosy. The view over the surrounding countryside is fabulous.   On the downside had to take our car everywhere as the lanes around Trister are very narrow with no footpaths so not suitable for walking with dogs. Owner does let you use their extensive lawned garden for dogs to play in which ours loved.

  It is perfect to chill, walk the dog and there are lots of nearby places to visit. My mobility is poor so we never go to far, but as the flat was comfortable and warm it was a pleasure to come back after a short trip out. The owner Jane was, so welcoming and kind, the whole week was perfect. Our dog Luther adored it with lots of walks my husband could enjoy with him. Although the kitchen area is small it is very well equipped. The surprise treats were a real delight! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.

  There are plenty of places to visit all within about an hour or so drive-time, whether travelling North, South, East or West. Alternatively you can sit and soak up the sun and relax the time away at the Trister Studio. • "This was a fantastic property; peaceful, pretty and close to many local places to visit; the garden was beautiful with outstanding views from the little balcony."

  We were able to sit out and read in the sun and listen to the birds and sheep. The lodge was lovely and cosy with freebies of cider and other goodies. It is positioned up a narrow lane - but close enough to get to the A303 for travel. Jane is a lovely host and we felt comfortable being in their grounds.

• "The studio was lovely."

  Very clean, cosy, with a well stocked kitchen. It is easy to find, and looks over stunning grounds and fields. My only two negative points, the first is that the listing indicated free wi-fi, which was one of my search filters and important, and when I arrived it was noted that whilst there was wifi, we were polityly being asked not to stream anything, or download large files. I went there to do some writing and research, which required listening to podcasts, YouTube. I also stream music, and my preference is to watch netflix rather than terrestrial tv. The weather was pretty grotty, fortunately, I had the work I wanted to do, but other wise, I could have been stuck with things to do. So I think free wifi on the listing was misleading, and maybe limited wi-fi should be noted. Jane the owner was very nice about it. She did increase the quota of data on her contact (because I'd used so much with pod casts & youtube) and I then upgraded by phone contract to include more data. Neither was really ideal, when the listing could have included these details from the get go. This is more of an issue with the listing on the website, rather than anything negative about the property or the landlady Jane who was lovely. The only element to do with the property which I didn't get on with very well was the shower, which had a very poor power/flow; so not enough water came out it to properly cover you, or to wash your hair easily, so I was cold in the shower. It could do with a more modern version of the Mira units maybe, my parents have one and it is just like a power shower.

  Many thanks for your feedback. Trister Studio is very popular and has a lovely owner, Jane who always goes out of her way to ensure her guests are happy and enjoying their stay, thus resulting in continuous positive feedback. As it states on the website, there is “TV with freeview, DVD, WIFI”. Although WiFi is available it is not unlimited and there is a polite notice which refers to this in the Studio. However, with an average use of the internet this limit should not be an issue. If a guest wishes to stream large files, download podcasts, YouTube, stream music, Netflix etc. then it is advisable to check with the owner first as this would be considered more than recreational use. Despite using up almost over half of the monthly allowance in 2 days, the owner straight away upgraded her allowance to accommodate despite never having had any issues in the past. Had the WiFi been unlimited, a realistic usage is to be expected unless otherwise requested by the guest. Due to the unusual high usage in a very short period of time which resulted in urgent alerts from the provider to the owner, it was only really queried with the guest as the network is unsecured and as this had never happened before, the owner just wanted to ensure that the system wasn’t being used unauthorised by an outside user. Regarding the shower, this will of course be looked into, however, as this is a Studio which is situated away from the main house where the water is supplied from, the pressure will always be less. However, this issue has never once been raised by any of the many previous guests. This owner always does a meet and greet and always encourages all of her guest to let her know of any issues and requests to ensure the best possible experience. Property Owner

• "We have just got back from 4 days at The Studio."

  It is truly spectacular with absolutely incredible views. We took our 2 whippet dogs with us and did lots of long walks, right from door of The Studio - there are so many footpaths to explore within 5 minutes walking distance of the property. It was wonderful to come back to after a day out in the fresh air in the surrounding landscape, sit down on the sofa with a cup of tea and look out across the beautiful scenery. It is a magical place to stay. The owners are lovely and more than happy to do anything for you. Everything you'll need is provided in The Studio. If you have the opportunity to stay here, please do, you won't regret it. We're certainly going to be returning!

  Views out over the landscape are amazing. The host was lovely and very welcoming. The location is great for exploring Stourhead, Glastonbury and the pretty villages around.
