Couple of problems the key to door did not operate easily and the floor didn't appear to have been hoovered prior to our arrival. Otherwise very comfortable stay in excellent location.

  • "We enjoyed our stay."

The apartment was a good size, with everything needed for a week’s stay. The kitchen had everything to cook a good meal. We liked the large tv but it took us a while to work out how to use it. There was a recordable hard drive but we could not find what we had recorded! Good that there was iplayer etc. The bedroom was quiet with a comfy bed. There were plenty of coat hangers. Nice to have a bath at the end of a day of walking the coast paths. Great location & short walk to the town. Nice to have allocated parking space. Overall was clean. Being on the 2nd floor, it was a bit of a way to carry luggage. We would stay here again.

  • "We had a good stay."

the flat had all that we needed but cleanliness was an issue. the lounge floor was very gritty. the grill pan had dried food in it and the drainer was very badly stained. I cleaned both before using. before leaving I stripped beds as I always do to find the mattress, mattress cover and pillows were very stained. In fact the pillows were so brown should have been discarded.I did not put comment in visitor book as I was so disappointed at what I had found.

  • "Great location, 10 minutes walk into the town centre, beach, railway and pubs/places to eat, the apartment has everything that you could possibly need, and the parking space is a great plus."

The apartment was very clean and well presented, the only slight downside being that the bathroom is on the small size, if it were my place I would take out the bath and put in a good size walk in shower and make it into a wet room. We really enjoyed our stay in Swanage and we would certainly consider staying here again.

  • "There was a dripping tap in the kitchen."

As we are of an older age group, we did not like the stairs in the flat. I think something should be mentioned in the listing. There were many positives. The location was excellent, everything was provided. It would suit most families but not us again because of the stairs. Missed the usual welcome pack received at other Sykes bookings.

  • "At the end of the stay, I stripped the bed linen etc as requested."

I was horrified by the state of the pillows, duvet and mattresses, they all had numerous stains on them. This was very off putting and should not be the case especially if you are asked to remove them, at least make sure they are clean. Also, dishwasher didn’t appear to clean dishes properly, which again made me question the cleanliness. In terms of the washing up liquid and liquid soap, there were only a few drops left in the bottom of the bottles. Would expect it to be at least half full, considering COVID precautions at the moment. Also would have preferred white towels instead of coloured towels. Can be put on a 60c wash and you know they’re ok as would see any stains. On plus side, loved the location of the apartment. My son loved the twin bedroom. It was really nicely decorated with good finishing touches. Wish the rest of the apartment had the same decorating standard. I think the price of nearly £700 for two nights was very overpriced. Lacked attention to detail and extra cleanliness expected in the current pandemic. Shame as it’s a great location.

  • "We were happy with the property, it was as advertised."

However we were not very pleased with the standard of cleaning. Especially as we had a late check in to cater for the extra cleaning required for covid precautions. This clearly hadn't been done. We had to spend about an hour cleaning with antiseptic wipes before we felt safe. We can supply further details and photographs if required, There was no blind or curtains in the kitchen.

We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed trips out to lulworth Castle and national Trust properties at corfe Castle and Kingston lacy. We also enjoyed the model village and the food at corfe Castle, the breakfasts there are fabulous! We also enjoyed the woodland trail at durlston Country Park and rockpooling at kimmeridge. We can't wait to return.

  • "Lovely place great facilities and good position for ammenities."

A few points that you may want to consider are Electric fans- these could have been available at property as when we stayed it was so hot during day and night. These may have helped to make our stay a little more comfortable particularly at night. Perhaps on your advertising of proerty you might like to let guests know that the road out the front can get quite busy/noisy at times. However accomodation is set back from road. Ensure dish washer empty as when we arrived crockery etc still in there from last guests so had to put away on arrival also some of it wasn't clean so had to re wash it. I did leave comment in guest book re these points too.

Also good recycling. Would definitely use again. My only comment would be the communal area ie stairs, hallway were in need of a vacuum and as that is the first thing you see it was a bit off putting, however the flat itself was very clean.

  • "Lovely flat ; clean, tastefully decorated, comfortable, warm and well equipped."

The apartment building was quiet and well situated and parking was allocated and easy to find. The Booking.com advert doesn’t do it justice. It didn’t mention that beds are made up with linen and towels provided. It also didn’t mention the washing machine or dish washer. It mentions a bath but not that there is also an excellent over bath shower. It was great that they were all in the flat as a plus but it would have really helped with my packing if the advert had mentioned them. There is no DVD but the TV comes with Netflix and there are also board games, playing cards and some children’s books available. It was obvious that a lot of care had gone in to making it a lovely holiday home. It was a really enjoyable stay, flat was great and in an excellent position for easy access to Swanage which is lovely. 10/10.

The apartment was described as being on the first floor whereas although the flat entrance is on the first floor the apartment itself is on the second floor. Being somewhat elderly and in less than perfect health, getting luggage up and down the stairs and through several doors proved difficult.

Thank you for your feedback. In light of this, we have amended the property description to reflect the floor layout to make this more clearer for future guests. Property Owner

We had an issue with the WiFi and the contact numbers are for the cleaner who couldn’t help I got the owners number from the cleaner and she helped out having the owners number st the start would have been better. Thise minor issues aside the flat was perfect for our family it’s in a perfect location 5 mins walk from the beach and we had a great time. *********** Thank you for the feedback, I’m pleased you found the flat perfect for your family and the location was great. In light of your feedback we have improved the directions guests receive before arrival, so the parking and the key box should be easier to find. As new owners this feedback was very helpful. About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
