  • "Enjoyed our stay in Swanage, flat was in ideal position for station, shops and seafront."

Agree with previous guests comments that windows do need blinds and a coffee table would be useful. We would also suggest a lamp in lounge rather than having to put on main light. It would be good to brighten up the entrance to the flats, it felt a bit like going into a multi storey car park! Our main issue was the cleanliness, we had to buy some bleach to clean the washing up bowl and toilet which was grim. The flat could be so much better with just a few changes.

The flat could do with a plug in fan for the summer months and a small blind at the window near the kitchen sink… blinding when the sun is out… otherwise it’s lovely thank you

  • "Manuals for appliances for tv, induction hob for us dinosaurs who have more basic appliances."

A hook on back of bathroom door would be helpful . Plumper cushions to make settee more comfortable and a small coffee table for your drinks whilst watching tv or reading and relaxing. This apart everything was fine and would certainly want to go back when returning to Swanage which we hope to do.

  • "Whilst the apartment was very well equipped the sofa was extremely uncomfortable and we felt that a roller blind on the bathroom window would be good."

We came back a day early do to not being able to sit and relax comfortably.

Thank you for you feedback. In light of your comment have decided to change the sofas in the property to a different style which future guests will hopefully find more comfortable. Kind regards. Property Owner

  • "Our second stay in this bright and airy property which is well maintained and clean."

The kitchen is functional and well equipped. The location is quiet and the car space is essential in Swanage when parking is at a premium in the summer months. The location is excellent and we did not move our car for the duration of our stay.

  • "The flat was superb."

As close to amenities as possible without being in town. 200yards to the beach and the same to the shops. As a touring base for Dorset, it couldn't be better. It was comfortable and well maintained and had every home comfort. Would happily give 10/10

Once you've travelled up the flights of stairs past the shared entrance hallway, find Swanage Town Apartment's front door and be welcomed into your holiday home.

Head down the hall and into the open-plan living space, with an abundance of light from the duel aspect windows, you can relax in this contemporary space after fun days on the beach, with a sofa and an armchair to sink into set positioned around the large flatscreen TV.

A modest dining area serves as the perfect place to begin the day with a hearty breakfast, with the fitted kitchen host to all you need for a self-catered stay, including an induction hob, electric oven and a fridge/freezer.

Swanage Town Apartment has two bedrooms; a charming double with a TV and a vibrant twin bedroom, served by the family bathroom with a bath and shower over, as well as a handy washing machine stored in here too.

Simply set off on foot to find a wealth of attractions around you on this remote southern isle, heading first to the beautiful golden sandy beach which has been on the receiving end of many European Blue Flag Awards thanks to its clean waters, with deck chairs available to hire as well as pedaloes, kayaks and sunbeds, it's just like being on holiday abroad!

The beach is backed by a promenade and is lined with seaside amusements like mini-golf, fairground rides, and arcades, as well as Swanage Museum and the 19th century Victorian Pier which has a maritime museum and a café.

Follow along the South West Coast Path and come across several excellent viewpoints and landmarks like the Prince Albert Gardens overlooking the town, the Wellington Clock Tower, expansive seascapes from Peveril Point, and further down on the edge of Dunston Country Park, The Great Globe, an amazing sculpture set on the south-east point.

For the traditional seaside holiday experience, the famous Swanage steam railway train will take you to the ancient ruins of Corfe Castle.

Lulworth Castle Wareham is also worth visiting for it's striking 17th century architecture and expansive grounds, you can stay to watch re-enactments of historic events or catch a festival hosted here.

For those fascinated by the Jurassic Coast, visit The Etches Collection Museum of Jurassic Marine Life which houses an astounding collection of fossils and research telling stories from millions of years ago.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
