  • "Lovely stay at Elm Villa, comfortable, clean and well equipped."

Only down side is no parking outside property but parking in the church car park 100 yrds away worked well, we just moved it to the High street whilst the services were on. Wareham and surrounding area beautiful, plenty to see and do, will definitely be back.

Thank you for your feedback , Im glad you enjoyed your stay at Elm Villas. Property Owner

  • "Dining room had mold and had an unpleasant smell."

We were unable to use this room. Rain came through the ceiling of the conservatory,, the floor had to be mopped and a bucket and pan used to catch the drips. The bricked area outside was quite slippery and uneven in parts. The stairs felt quite steep and would have benefited from a handrail on the left going up extended around the curve at the top. Despite all of this the house was comfy, warm and homely.

Thank you for your feedback and glad that you enjoyed your stay! Regarding the points made above, we are lucky to have incredibly diligent housekeepers, no issues were reported regarding mould during the clean before your arrival and after your departure. But we will keep your feedback in mind going forward. Secondly, the outdoor brick courtyard and staircase are original features of this Victorian home. Although they add to the charm of the property your points have been noted, it may also have been due to the extremely wet weather that caused minor drips in the conservatory and water to sit in the courtyard. Thank you once again for choosing to stay with us. Property Owner

  • "We loved this town house- it was perfect for our week."

It was spacious, comfortable & had almost everything we needed. 5 people & one dog were well catered for. Despite having a few problems with the tv, no parking close to the house & not having any oven gloves, we had a great week.

  • "We were very happy with our stay in Elm Villa overall."

Spacious and well equipped, comfortable beds and great to have the conservatory to sit in. Very good location for the high street shops and restaurants. Definitely make sure you arrive at the check in time to have enough time to use the Church car park for unloading, before finding a parking spot on the surrounding streets, although this wasn’t too difficult.

Thank you for your feedback , I am pleased you were happy with your stay at Elm Villas. Property Owner

Beautifully appointed house and very convenient for days out and walking to eateries in Wareham in the evening. I was concerned about parking, having read previous comments, but if you take account of the restricted times posted on the chalkboard in the church car park it was not a problem.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, Im so glad you enjoyed your stay at Elm Villas. Property Owner

  • "The property was clean and is well situated for trips out."

Wareham is an ideal spot for many reasons. I would have reservations in returning for the following reasons _ Parking in the church car park was troublesome. We were approached by 2 people from the congregation (1 was the vicar) who made it clear that the parking situation is not agreed. Clearly they couldn't stop us parking there but it's obvious the arrangement is not amicable. It is not possible to park outside the property and the only other alternative is to street park in the town which is nearby. As a person renting a property and following instructions on where to park I do not expect to have to be met by confrontation and questions. We are very reasonable people but I should imagine this could cause some nastiness if the wrong person was approached. It is something that needs resolving so that customers do not have to deal with it. The photographs of the property show a lovely garden area to sit in. In reality this is not easily accessible and the back garden which is more accessible needs some TLC. I do think too that the gate to the property would benefit from some type of internal lock from a security point of view. Other than that, while the property was clean it felt like it needed an airing and a bit of maintenance (a couple of radiators didn't work and some rooms smelt a little foisty - nothing that letting a little air in wouldn't solve). Despite these little niggles, this is a lovely property in a great little town and close to everything you would possibly need to travel to.

Im sorry to hear that you had issues with the parking , there is plenty of alternative parking along the walls if the church car park is in use for a service .We will look into this . Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic week in Elm Villa and really enjoyed being in Wareham - an even better location than we had imagined it would be."

We appreciated being provided with cleaning cloths, spray and hand soap etc. We took oven gloves with us thanks to an earlier review! Instructions on using the play station for playing DVDs would have been useful - it took us a while to work it out! the first time! Otherwise a very lovely place to stay.

  • "Had a lovely stay and really enjoyed Wareham and the local areas."

The house was very well situated for anyone wanting to visit the Dorset coast and countryside. Was immaculate throughout and very comfortable for the 4 of us - our only frustrations were around no oven gloves or anything else to manage hot dishes in the oven and the parking situation when we first arrived on the Saturday. Although we had been made aware that the Church car park would not be available after 5pm we arrived to find out it was not available until after 7:30pm which caused issues in unloading, that said it would not stop us from booking again.

  • "The property was great - good sized rooms, spotlessly clean and plenty of storage!"

Two small things - a second key would be helpful and a warning that there is no shaver socket in the bathroom (which can be easily remedied by taking an adaptor plug). The downside is the parking. Check-in is 5pm on Saturday. The only available parking is in the church car park and it isn’t available from 5-7 pm on a Saturday. If possible, an earlier check-in would at least allow to get the car unloaded before it had to be moved.

Thank you for your feedback, we have amended the check in time to 4pm to assist with the parking. Property Owner

Very clean and well presented with a really homely, comfy feel. Had everything we needed. The sun room was a lovely bonus and the garden is beautiful. Excellent location on the doorstep into Wareham. Good local amenities, couple of nice pubs, we are at two really good restaurants- The Old Granary and The Italian Kitchen and hired a boat from the quay. The Bear was great for a drink. Not far by car to other great places. We absolutely loved our holiday here. Definitely recommend this property and Wareham itself as a great base to see Dorset.

About the location

WAREHAM

Corfe Castle 5 miles; Poole 9 miles; Swanage 11 miles;

Wareham, affectionately known as the ‘Gateway to the Purbecks’ is an ancient Dorset waterside market town. Situated between the River Frome and quaintly named River Piddle, its charming riverside location makes the town a popular holiday destination. Dating back to Saxon times, the town was once surrounded by walls, and became an important port with boats bringing supplies up the River Frome from nearby Poole harbour. Today, the river provides a great playground, you can hire a boat from the attractive quayside and chug your way down the stream, take one of the regular organised boat trips, browse the colourful Saturday market or simply just enjoy an ice cream or a drink relaxing on the Quayside. Whilst seasonally there are also numerous popular events taking place beside the river. A short drive takes you to the Arne peninsula jutting out into Poole Harbour, a designated RSPB reserve, where you can stroll down to the water’s edge, taking in glimpses of the impressive bird population and often viewing some of the resident deer. The friendly seaside resort of Swanage is also easily accessible, where you can experience a traditional family-friendly day out on the beach, or take the coastal path and stop off for refreshment at Durlston Country Park. A real treat is to drive to nearby Corfe Castle and take the vintage steam railway to Swanage. Wareham offers visitors a super Dorset holiday destination at anytime of the year.
