"A comfortable and relaxing flat that was an enjoyable retreat from the inclement weather when it hit."
It really helped to make our visit to West Bay. It really helped to make a visit to West Bay enjoyable whatever the weather.

"Absolutely lovely ."
For ' people watchers ', perfect. Very clean and comfortable. Certainly not 'small'.Very well stocked with every conceivable necessary item, and then some ! Gaining entrance proved to be pleasantly puzzling at the start, but all part of the fun ! Parking in the allocated spot was tight but not impossible. Solved by using one of the three unmarked parking places in the open parking area just inside the gates--- (as advised in the guest information pack). The lift proved to be a great help . My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay . So many possible places to eat , from the various 'shacks' by the harbour, to Haddon House Hotel for Sunday Lunch and especially 'Seagulls Restaurant ' to celebrate a birthday ! West Bay is great , but 'The Boardwalk' is special ! Definitely looking forward to our next visit !

"The apartment is very comfortable, nicely furnished and extremely well equipped."
As previous reviewers have said, the allocated parking space is very tight to get into and to get out. We managed it best by reversing into the space. West Bay is a lively little resort, well served with pubs, takeaways, tea rooms and a small but well stocked NISA store. There is one classy restaurant, Seagull which is small, but excellent. Note that you have to book, they do not accept walk-ins, so do book, it’s a must-visit. Two suggestions to the owners - a small coffee table in the living room would be a big improvement and a washing up brush in the sink! Trivial perhaps, but would be so helpful, or ask renters to bring one with them. All in all, a great stay and we will be back!

"We had a fantastic stay at The Boardwalk."
The location couldn’t be better, close to everything with great views. The kitchen has every gadget you need to self cater, and the flat is super cosy. We will definitely be booking again, it was wonderful. One final note, every review mentions the car parking. All I’d say is do not let this put you off. We have an SUV and used the car park space for the entire week, and we were parking next to another SUV. It’s a squeeze but reverse in and you will be fine. I read everyone else’s reviews in advance and was worried, there was no need to.

"The apartment itself was well equipped and views from balcony great."
Unfortunately whole holiday was spoiled by the parking. I only have a mini but in space 5 I couldn’t open door wide enough to get out. Two door cars have wide doors. Yes there are visitor spaces but they were always full apart from one time when a resident double parked us in and then said we shouldn’t park there as our two cars should be in allocated space, we only have one car. Unfortunately due to this and one other incident we would not return to this very well appointed apartment.
Thank you for your valuable feedback and glad you found the apartment well equipped, and you enjoyed the views. We are sorry that you found the parking difficult, the owner has an Audi A4 Estate which they are able to fit in the space. However, ourselves and the owner does take all feedback on board and have put the parking dimensions on the website. We look forward to welcoming you back to Dorset again soon. Property Owner

"Very nice apartment, the owners had thought of everything, great attention to detail."
Excellent location, nice view, many places nearby to eat at but they did not create loud noise at night. Would definitely use again.
-
"Excellent apartment,with the best views."
Very well equipped and thought out. Took a while to sort out the key codes but we weren't the only visitors/to find that. The car space was small and caused concern, the only way was to reverse in (we were warned) with the help of the co/driver. Any car of over 1100cc would make it difficult. However all ok with care. I was sorry for one comment in the visitor book to say they hadn't been able to use their car all week. Any of the fellow parkers would have helped I'm sure. We found very everyone very helpfull.

"The apartment was well situated and had all required facilities."
Great location. However 3 things stopped it from being perfect and means we won't be returning. 1. Parking slot very small. 2. The Key Safe at the front door is so difficult to operate we spent 30 minutes trying to put key in but could not. Spoilt the end of the holiday. 2. The settee is too low for older people to get up from easily. Enjoyed our stay apart fro these 3 issues.
Hi With regards to the key safe and spoiling your holiday, if you had phoned the correct number for problems/queries it would have been rectified. There are clear instructions in the apartment of who to contact if any problems. I know we have had comments on the parking space but as Mr Pitchford said reverse into the spot and no problems. He had a BMW estate and I have an Audi A4 estate and have no problems. First comment on the sofa, will look into it. Property Owner

"Excellent apartment, beyond our expectations, brilliant location, everything you require is provided at the apartment, very handy base for visiting other beautiful seaside resorts, all close by."
Some visitors have “ complained “ re the designated car parking space, it is a little tight but, I didn’t have a problem, I drive a BMW estate, drove straight into the underground parking area and reversed straight in, no problem. I would highly recommend this apartment 100%.

"Second visit so that says it all."
Love the apartment and West Bay.

"The apartment is very clean and comfortable."
A great base to relax and explore West Bay and places nearby. The kitchen is well equipped with all you may need. It was nice also to find the basics like liquid soap for hand washing, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and other basic cleaning materials alongside the welcome tray of tea, cookies and milk. Beds are comfortable and apartments do not seem noisy so enjoyed nice sleeps. Caretaker is really helpful and was quick to respond on one morning when hot water wasn't working. The problem was quickly resolved. Do make sure you understand the parking arrangements - yes you have an allocated space but the spaces are small - which is fine but larger cars will struggle (but the description does tell you this). Locally I would recommend the following places to eat and drink. The Chippy opposite the swimming pool, RISE - on the river, The George, and the Windy corner café. There are others including the outlets on and around the harbour. All-in-all a fantastic week - missing it already! One minor point the Wi-Fi is a little weak which is okay I guess but it could be better. It may be as simple as moving the router from the back bedroom will improve this... Would i recommend the boardwalk? Yes without a doubt

"The flat was lovely,it was clean and had everything we needed ."
One thing that would be good would be a shower that can be used by someone disabled like me not having a shower. all week was not good even so I would still stay again
-
"Great apartment very comfortable and the balcony view is fabulous!"
West bay is a lovely seaside town to visit with plenty to do. The car park space is very tight indeed and posed a small challenge at times. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.
-
"Wonderful apartment with a great location."
All fixtures and fittings were of really good quality and a really well equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful week's stay with two teenage children, plenty of room for all of us in the apartment. Parking is a complete nightmare but the owners cant be blamed for this, its a very small place and we were unfortunate to have a large transit van parked next to us so once the car was in the space we left it there for the whole week!
-
"The apartment was amazing in a brilliant spot."
It had everything we needed and would love to return in the future. I was a bit worried about the parking space after reading earlier reviews but we have got a VW passat estate and it was tight but got it in and out fine.
-
"The only issue I had with this property was the parking space in that the real on-site difficulties are not truly explained in the details."
This was exasperated by the neighbouring car not parking well. Fortunately after we read the information folder in the flat parked our car in the visitor spaces which we achieved all the time thereafter, as the remaining occupancy in the apartments appeared low. This is why not marked 5 star. Otherwise everything was excellent.
-
"The apartment was great in a good position over looking the harbour."
The holiday was spoilt as the parking space was too small. My husband has problems with his knees so he really struggled to get out of the car. It was such a carry on to park the car we left it there all week. We tried the bus but the times were every two hours. We have a son with a learning disability, so this caused us problems. Would not return because of the parking space. Ok if you have a really small car.
-
"The accommodation was first class and had everything we could possibly need."
It was good to see that dogs weren't allowed in the apartment. The only problem was the parking. This would be the only reason we wouldn't recommend it to our friends. If parking was easier we wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Housekeeper Charlotte was extremely friendly and helpful.
-
"The flat and it’s amenities were perfect."
The only problem was with the Wi-Fi which I did report but the providers at Shell were unable to do anything about it.
-
"The Boardwalk in West Bay is a great property to spend your holiday."
Stunning views, very comfortable and clean apartment that has everything you need. Loved the location of a short walk to the sea, shops, cafes and eateries! I have been to West Bay many times and never tire of it. The only slightly negative for me was the parking space for the apartment, it is very tight and not a space you can move in and out of easily or quickly. Having said that, once you’ve got the hang of it, it was manageable and wouldn’t put me off coming back again! Thank you!
-
"Perfect position overlooking the harbour."
Walking distance to all of West Bay including the beach. Parking for this flat is tight but is doable with a Mazda CX5, just need to park close to bollards and walk around the back of the car.
-
"Very comfortable apartment, well presented with a good range of kitchen utensils and accessories."
One small drawback was with the shower in the en-suite. The entry was not made for the larger person, a bit of a squeeze to get into it, and the heat of the water was not as adjustable as would have liked (almost too hot!). All-in-all we had a great week with wonderful views across the harbour.
-
"A beautiful very appointed flat in the heart of West Bay overlooking the harbour, well decorated, furnished and equipped, we had a very enjoyable week."
The only issue is as commented by others; the parking space is very very tight due to pipework, a mammoth effort is required to park and be able to exit the vehicle when adjacent vehicles are properly parked, if others park inconsiderately the space is unusable for even a medium hatchback.
-
"Fantastic apartment right in the heart of West Bay - would highly recommend."
-
"A lovely apartment in a very convenient location."
Lots of amenities on the doorstep and a moments walk to the beach. Great location for discovering Dorset.
-
"We had a really good experience I'm the apartment, the only negative is the parking."
At times we could not even get into the space when there was a car parked at the side due to bollards and pipes, this is the worst space in the car park. Everything else was really good
-
"Car parking space is really inadequate for anything but a very small car."
I was able to get into it on arrival, only because the next space was empty. I left it there all week and we walked or used buses, as it was clear that I would have great difficulty getting out and back. Getting out when we left involved a good deal of effort, as a large car was in the adjoining space. If this problem cannot be resolved, it should be made clear in the listing.
-
"Couldn’t fault the apartment at all, location was superb and we had a lovely week."
The only issue we had was the size of the parking bay for apartment 5, which, because of pipework on one side and another vehicle parked on the other side of it, was very small. Because visitor spots were occupied, had to park in unallocted spot which other residents didnt appreciate. If parking was resolved somehow, feedback would have been higher.
-
"This holiday cottage was very clean and provided excellent facilities"
-
"The owner had not been told of our arrival so apartment had not been cleaned since last occupants."
Sykes and Dream Cottages telephone system is a nightmare. I had to listen to 5 options before I could choose the one I wanted. I was trying to register my complaint. And when I finally got through to someone to ask for compensation. This carried on for the first 3 days of our holiday and eventually I stopped looking at phone and emails. I was given £50 although I understood I had agreed the equivalent of one nights rent in compensation for the stress, anxiety and inconvenience. Not very customer friendly. I had not used Sykes and will not be using them again.
-
"Lovely apartment, exactly as listed."
Very easy access which was important for elderly parents! Our only problem was that we couldn’t work out the thermostat in the living room and found we were very warm most of the time. Instructions would help!
-
"We had a lovely two week stay in the apartment, it has great views of the harbour and west bay, there was always something going on you could watch."
The apartment was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We have stayed in west bay many times and I must say this is one of the best.
-
"Perfect location for trips to Monkey World, Paignton Zoo & Lyme Regis."
Stayed on 2 previous occasions in the Boardwalk Apts, great value for money & lots going on in Westbay for our 4 year old grandson. Thank you - stayed April 2018
-
"A lovely place to stay, well equiped kitchen and great view from the balcony."
-
"This beautiful apartment was impeccably clean, furnished to a high standard - equipped with everything you could possibly need."
The balcony view must be one of the best over the harbour. With the wonderful weather, we enjoyed - it was just perfect. Plus, the lovely welcome tray. Will definitely book again (and again...)- Stayed August 2017.

"Enjoyed our stay again- stayed July 2017"

"We were delighted with the apartment Boardwalk I West Bay."
Everything about it was good, although the the weather could have been better it was winter and could have been worse. The time spent in the apartment was good because of the amount of thought that had gone into making it very comfortable, It was very clean and warm we loved it and plan to visit again later in the summer....I can really recommend Boardwalk. Stayed February 2017
-

It is well equipped, clean and tidy and a pleasure to stay in. Stayed June 2016
-
"A wonderful modern and well equipped apartment in an excellent location."
Great views of the harbour and the sea. Several shops and plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. The parking space was a little small but we soon got used to it. We will definitely be returning here. Stayed March 2016
-
"Lovely apartment."
The best I have stayed in in West Bay. Credit to the owners. Stayed November 2015
-
"Great property; everything as described in listing."
Summary: Would recommend property, and will likely return. Details: Accommodation itself was tidy, clean, well-presented with fixtures, fittings and decor of a high standard. Above average range and quality of kitchen implements (if you intend to cook whilst there). Location, overlooking the harbour, was great for people-watching. Good sound insulation from the windows, so the seagulls don't ruin one's sleep. Owners pleasant and responded quickly and without rancour when I cack-handedly yanked a blind off the wall. Only (initial) concern was lack of wi-fi, BUT one can get 4g connection when on the chair in the lounge for any essential transactions, AND enjoyed the holiday more when wasn't mindlessly referring to dross on the internet anyway. Great little flat.Stayed July 2015

"We very much enjoyed our stay Thanks for your help in identifying the property."
-
"Perfect property in an excellent location."
The only thing lacking for our purposes was a WiFi connection
-
"Lovely apartment in a beautiful location."
Car parking space rather small but alternatives available. Last minute booking and when requested a discount as only staying 5 nights I had a quick and acceptable quote. Would definitely use Dream Cottages again thank you
