  • "A beautifully presented, spotlessly clean property which is very welcoming and cosy."

The property has everything you need for a relaxing break. Ideal for my husband and I with our dog, who loved the dog treats left for him. Plenty of room for a family and the enclosed garden is ideal for children and dogs. Off-road parking and perfectly situated for easy and quick access to the beach and coastal path and down the road from a great local pub. We highly recommend this property.

  • "Excellent location."

Lovely garden. Cottage a bit tired in places. Needs a good “spring clean”, more than can be completed in a few hours on change over days. Might be an idea to replace the twin beds with zip and link ones to give more flexibility of accommodation and space in room. Wondered why outside lights have to be kept switched on all the time? Had a bit of a surprise one evening when a hole appeared in the lounge bookshelves and a leaflet was pushed through. A secret letter box .lol!

Thank you for your feedback. We have now given the cottage a thorough deep clean and we will ensure this is done more regularly. Property Owner

  • "We love the place, so much we have booked for next year whilst there."

Our only niggle was it stated a cot and it was a travel cot, fortunately we had our own as well so had the correct size linen, if its said "travel" we would have packed more correct sized sheets. Our first week started slightly odd as the people in Little Forge wanted to use our second parking bay as they had an extra guest staying with them, asked to use the garden and wandered across the garden each day cutting flowers out, which we reported. On "Facilities & Maintenance" the reason is we lost power on the last day, we struggled to get in touch with the housekeeper (about 5pm) for a bit, apparently no emergency electricians available. So we had no power, washing stuck in the machine, no way to use our prep machine or sterilizer for our 5 month old (very stressful), our 2 year old didn't like the dark, could not pack/clean properly, we called the out of hours line, left message, no one came back to us. Housekeeper did her best, along with our lovely neighbours but never fixed.

Sorry that you lost power at the cottage during your stay. We have now had an electrician out to check everything to ensure it does not happen again. Property Owner

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Forge Cottage which was spacious and nicely furnished."

As mentioned in other reviews, there was sound from the adjoining cottage which was a bit off putting as it made one want to whisper when in the kitchen but did not spoil our enjoyment of the property. THE LIGHT IN THE COOKER HOOD HAD STILL NOT BEEN SORTED, so cooking was very dim. The coastline is stunning and we did several great walks from the door - the Lulworth Ranges are open at the weekend, so make that a priority for the first few days if you are only staying for a week. The Lulworth stores just down the road offers a great selection of food.

Thank you for the feedback. We have now fitted a new cooker hood with working lights. Property Owner

Yes i would go to this property again. I have 2 points to mention. 1. The garden furniture REALLY needs to be replaced on every level. It is so old and covered in algae. A light movable set that could be put up onto the lawn where the sun is would be an idea. 2. I think that the fact that this cottage is linked to the neighbouring property should be made much clearer in the details as there is a lot of noise transference. You can literally hear people talking and taking a bath and running a tap when sat in the lounge or you are in the kitchen and the people next to us seemed like a very quiet couple. Goodness knows what it would be like if either property had a 'lively' group in. Thank you

We specifically needed a garden for our dog and he was regularly disturbed and upset by the children. We had no private outdoor space which was really disappointing in exceedingly hot weather. The bedrooms were rather hot in very hot weather, that said we could not fathom why there were 10 tog duvets on the beds in July. Thankyou for your recent feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had issues regarding the garden whilst you were staying and that you feel Forge Cottage is unsuitable for a dog. The guests staying in adjoining property are informed they do not have access to the garden. We have updated the notes on both properties to make it clear for any guests booking in the future. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door sit at the heart of this area and really are a must see. Lulworth Cove has many little café’s and beachside shacks serving local seafood, ice cream and other delights, as well as several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. There is an Lulworth estate information centre which offers an insight into how the cove and Durdle door were formed and Jurassic history of the region. If you tire of Cove and cliff top walks then Lulworth Castle is a short drive away and offers another glimpse at some more recent history, along with Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle.
