"Great place to stay so handy for everything Just being told 2 keys to get in was very confusing when you are only left one in safe and lots of stairs to get in."
But well worth the climb. Look forward to our next stay

"This was our fourth stay in this lovely apartment."
Unfortunately on this occasion it wasn’t quite up to its usual standard of cleanliness, even my husband noticed and commented, which he doesn’t notice much! On our second day I reported that one of the lights was out on the stairs which left you in complete darkness for one flight, I tripped up on one occasion, however the light was still not fixed as we left. On a plus, we had a smoke detector continually beeping, we phoned and someone was round within the hour and sorted it. I hope this review doesn’t detract from the high end accommodation that 5 The Beaches is, but hope that if we book again usual standards will be resumed

"A super apartment, ideal location, really comfortable, high quality."
... Would love to go again.

"Wow, what an apartment!"
Light, clean and airy with the most gorgeous sea views. The apartment was more spacious than I thought and the welcome Dorset Hamper was a treat. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe but be aware that there are four flights of stairs to navigate, two without bannisters, so you’ll need strong arms if you have a heavy suitcase! The esplanade is buzzing from morning till night and it’s wonderful to watch the world go by before relaxing in the bedroom which is located at the rear and is super comfortable and quiet. I was fortunate that the weather was glorious and Skyes Cottage quickly remedied a broken fan on arrival - thank you! Great service. I will definitely be back :-)
-
"Great apartment, spacious, clean and great location."
We were able to leave our car just outside the apartment using the provided parking permit and didn’t have to move it all week. We appreciated the welcome hamper and pint of fresh milk, but most of all loved waking up to sun streaming through the lounge windows and the great view over Weymouth bay.
-
"What a fantastic apartment!"
We absolutely loved it here, from the view to the seafront location and the general condition and fixtures & fittings - all excellent. It was spotless throughout and we greatly appreciated the welcome pack on arrival. First class Sykes ... our first booking with you but definitely not our last

"This was our third stay at 5 The Beaches so we knew we would have a lovely holiday."
The apartment is absolutely fantastic , views over the beach and out to sea are stunning. You have everything you could possibly need within the apartment and the lovely hamper and milk left for us was very kind and much appreciated. The communal entrance and stairway could do with improvement, but the apartment it self is pristine. Look forward to spending many more holidays in this lovely accommodation.
Many thanks for your feedback, and so glad that you appreciate 5 The Beaches, as is obvious with your many return visits, and we look forward to welcoming you back many more times in the future. Glad that you enjoyed the hamper of locally sourced products, this is a new local company that we are supporting. I am sorry about the current condition of the communal entrance way, unfortunately the building suffered a bad leak over the winter , and the management company are slow to repair this, although it has now been started, and all the stairways are due to be repainted soon Property Owner
-
"Beautiful airy apartment, well equipped and maintained."
Loved the welcome hamper. Great location. Only minor downside is that it could do with some soundproofing as it is hard to sleep at the weekends with the locality of the nightlife (upto 4.30am). Overall a very enjoyable holiday.

"A very comfortable and spacious property - my only issue would be the parking - ..."
A very comfortable and spacious property - my only issue would be the parking - in April it was still fairly busy for parking and so in peak season I think it would be difficult to get a spot to park near the property - the bins/ recycling info was confusing
-
"I gave 4 stars only due to the stairs up to the appartment otherwise it would have been 5."
Beautiful appartment and location. Will definately return.
-
"Can’t fault the flat itself, it was perfect, clean, well equipment, peaceful, with wonderful views."
However there are a lot of stairs to get there. If you have good mobility, you couldn’t wish for anywhere better
-
"A lovely place to stay, is much bigger than it looks in the pictures."
The apartment was clean and tidy there was a lovely Dorset hamper and milk in the fridge on arrival. It was an extremely convenient location with shops and attractions on the door step.
-
"What an amazing apartment."
Gorgeous furnishings, perfect view and the most amazing comfy bed. A lovely hamper and milk on arrival too. On the down side. The cleanliness wasn't good. Mud on bedroom floor, odd socks under draws and rubbish. Under toilet seat was dirty.... Not pleasant. Only one toilet roll supplied. Also had a problem with noise Fri and sat night till 5am. Maybe an idea to second double glaze the bedroom window as one of the other apartments have done (I stay in this complex twice a year, but first time in this flat) ended up on sofa to sleep. Would also be nice to have a throw provided in the lounge, so heating doesn't have to be used. But all this been said, it has got to be the nicest, bright airy apartment in the complex and I would definitely return.... Maybe not include Fri sat next time.

"Lovely property overlooking the sea."
It was our 2nd stay and already booked for next year.
-
"Lovely apartment with stunning sea views."
Amazing location, close to beach, harbour and shops. The apartment is well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Will definitely be returning, missing it already :(
-
"Absolutely love this property best views in Weymouth a real home from home."
Have stayed here twice now and already booked again for next year. The last flight of stairs are a little step but me and my 74yr husband can manage them and believe me we are not fit. Can’t recommend this property highly enough
-
"Very nice apartment nice and clean, everything you need to have a good holiday I would highly recommend this apartment and a very nice gesture was a Dorset Happy Hamper thank you very much."
-
"Absolutely love this property we have stayed several times ."
Some areas just need a kick of paint to freshen up before it starts looking tired . The carpet on stairs need securing properly . Had an amazing few days Thankyou
Many thanks for your feedback, and so glad that you obviously enjoy The Beaches, with your many return visits. We have planned to have the property redecorated at the end of this season, as we are aware some areas are looking tired. We have reported the stair carpet to the management company, but will chase them again. Property Owner

"We found the flat to be very spacious, clean and well maintained and appreciated the welcome hamper and milk."
It was perfectly situated with lovely views and we look forward to a return visit.
-
"Great apartment which was very clean and contained everything we needed."
It is an amazing location, with stunning views from the lounge windows overlooking the promenade. Would definitely go back
-
"Our second stay here."
Had a fantastic week in such beautiful accommodation. It was lovely to have the milk and Hamper left which was much appreciated. Such a relaxing place to stay , with wonderful views of the beach and out to sea. Had everything we could possibly need. Top marks from us
-
"Excellent accommodation in excellent location."
Would highly recommend. Had everything we needed. Everything clean and tidy with s comfy bed and good bathroom facilities. The stairs up to the apartment can be a struggle after a day out but worth it for the view. Nice and quiet at night with no noise from surrounding pubs and clubs as I had read in a previous review. Would definitely return
-
"There are a lot of stairs to reach the apartment, this is stated so not a problem to us, but if you have mobility issues something to consider."
The view is amazing we loved watching the changing scenery daily. The apartment itself is exactly as pictured we found it to be comfortable and clean with everything you need very well equipped. We would definitely use again when back in Weymouth.
-
"Absolutely beautiful apartment with a view that will not disappoint, however."
.. We do this trip every year for my husbands birthday and we have never not had a property decorated for Christmas, until now. I called in advance to check that the property would be decorated, but was told it wouldn't be as they don't have time! So if you're going around Christmas time, take your own decorations as this owner isn't interested in doing it for you. We were there from the 9th Dec for a week. If that's not christmas time, I don't know what is. Very disappointing. Other than that the property is perfect.
Thank you very much for your feedback, and are pleased to read that you thought the property was perfect. We were disappointed to read to say that we have no interest in putting up Christmas Decorations. We do put up Christmas trees, fully decorated and lights, and other decorations around the properties on all of our properties. We do consider that the 9th is a little early for decorations, and decorated our properties over the weekend of 16th/17th December. We are sorry you were upset, but otherwise enjoyed the property. Property Owner
-
"I needed a base for a long weekend in December, I booked this as it looked fairly central and am delighted with my choice, it is second floor so may not suit everyone but that height gives a wonderful view of the bay."
The flat was very spacious and well-equipped, I could easily have spent a fortnight there. A 'zone F' (town centre) parking permit was included and a few such spaces were diretly outside the front door ... but I rarely saw one empty, I had already booked a parking spot across town so not a problem for me but could be difficult in high season?
Many thanks for your positive feedback and enjoyed our property. Parking is always an issue on seafront properties. The "Zone F", parking permits provides for parking not only on The Esplanade directly outside the property, but also further along The Esplanade, and around Alexander Gardens and alongside some of the Harbour , and in various side streets. We hope the parking situation did not detract too much from the enjoyment of the property, and its wonderful views over the bay. Property Owner
-
"Apartment is in a wonderful location and has all of the home from home comforts that made our stay so relaxing."
We were off season so parking was no problem imagine this could be challenging during the summer months. Also remember not to pack a large heavy case as there are 41 steps to the apartment and they do get quite narrow at the top!!
-
"We had an amazing time in your holiday apartment it was so light bright and clean and beautifully decorated and attention to the little details where amazing, the bed was super comfortable and the view every morning to wake up to was lovely, we’d highly recommend this apartment and will definitely be visiting again."
-
"Absolutely gorgeous accommodation , perfect location ."
The views were amazing . Everything you needed for a relaxing week away .

"Excellent location and property."
Already booked for next year.
We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Beaches, and thank you for your booking for next year. Property Owner

"The apartment was clean & beautiful decorated."
It was fully equipped. There is view of the beach from.the front room. We loved it so much we didn't want to leave. The location very excellent.
-
"Beautiful apartment which was very comfortable with fantastic views of beach."
We watched the fireworks and enjoyed a band playing on beach!
-
"Lovely roomy apartment in an excellent location, would definitely book again, loved it!"
-
"One of the best holiday homes we’ve stayed in."
Excellent location, really lovely apartment and will definitely book it again when we come back to Weymouth.
-
"Accommodation was excellent - clean, tidy & comfortable with lovely decor, fantastic views & great location."
How recommend to anyone (except those with mobility issues).
-
"This was my second visit here, and because my first visit was such an amazing experience, if I wasn't able to get this apartment, I wouldn't have come back to Weymouth."
The property is without doubt amazing. It's just the perfect place to stay.
-
"Such a lovely relaxing property, feels much bigger than the photos actually show."
Great decor throughout, very tastefully done. It has everything you need. Bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is also very nice, the automatic lighting that comes on when you enter at night is an excellent idea so you don’t have the noise of the extractor fan coming on. Definitely one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. Top marks from us.
-
"Very good value for money, would recommend this property highly."
Had small issue with parking, but rectified very speedily and efficiently by Sykes Cottages. Even the sun shone on occasions.
-
"Lovely apartment."
In a great location. Beautifully decorated. We were there bank holiday Easter weekend so very rowdy the noise from outside it didn't bother us but might some people but once that was over very quiet and relaxing. Several stairs to go up into the apartment which sadly would put us off staying again and the walk to the pavilion to park our car and bring our luggage . As it was good Friday we had to do two trips to the carpark to fetch our luggage. Our fault we should have read the details properly regarding accessibility it was quite challenging for us but if your young and fit it won't be a problem. It was great to have the beach on the doorstep and the lovely view. We did have a problem with the washing machine door not opening after washing my husbands clothes not long after we got there due to an unfortunate event with a seagull and reported it on Saturday we were told a new catch was needed and they would be in touch to fix it however a week later and it wasn't done and my husbands clothes were still stuck in the washer. I had to play about with it for ages to get his clothes out so not ideal. However things go wrong and it didn't deter away from having a fab week in 5 The Beaches.

This apartment is stylish and well equipped and clean The location is suburb with great view of the beach and the sea and close to shops and restaurants and right on the esplanade Parking nearby is a challenge when you arrive to unload your car, but very useful permit provided that allows you to park in the carpark that is a short walk away
-
"A really well equipped apartment would recommend it to anyone."
-
"Clean, well apppointed and very comfortable."
Everything we needed was there. The bed was very comfortable. Central location and quiet. Fantastic view acoss the bay.
-
"Very clean and modern recently decorated accommodation"
-
"The apartment is stunning with fabulous views over the beach."
Parking is difficult, but it is everywhere in Weymouth. We had a lovely stay, Recommend Rockfish for a special meal too.
-
"Lovely apartment with quality fixtures and fittings."
Central location ideal for the town and the beach and for easy access to the coastal paths. The only downside was the constant noise which seemed to go on all night, with Friday and Saturday being the noisiest. We had to keep the windows closed despite the heat to try to reduce the noise level. There appears to be a cocktail bar directly at the rear of the property which could be the source of the noise? Other than that we’d definitely recommend the apartment
-
"Lovely property, well furnished, great central position opposite the beach Ans close to all facilities."
-
"This is our second visit to 5 The Beaches, would be nice to have a proper drainer when washing up."
Thanks for a great break. Helen and Steve
-
"This 2nd floor apartment was a great place to base our coastal explorations from."
The apartment was very modern and spacious - the photos are good representation of what we found. Parking - the supply of two permits worked well. One covers Zone F - the on street parking around the apartment. The other permit covered the main Weymouth car parks - including at the Chesil Visitor Centre, and one just as you arrive onto Portland (very useful for our round isle walk on that day). Noise - not too bad for a town centre location. Improvements that would make it even better ... a proper handle on the apartment door, if kitchen towel had been supplied, cleaner windows to enjoy the great views (luckily the window cleaner arrived mid-week but no idea how frequently they attend). Would recommend to friends and family. PS ... try https://www.myshiptracking.com/ if you want to find out which of the big cruise ships are in Weymouth Bay when looking out the window!
-
"1) The address is given as 47A The Esplanade (both on your emailed material and in the book inside the property), but on arrival that is a small black door to the left of Benny's, whereas the numbers shown above the actual entrance are 48 &49 The Esplanade."
Please correct these errors. 2) The bathroom extractor fan ran continuously for ages and ages and ages and the only thing we could do was to turn it off above the door. Please adjust the fan timer to something sensible like 10 minutes. 3) Heating control system was not clear or easy to operate, and the time is still showing as British Summer Time!!!. 3) Humax remote control batteries were flat, so we had to swap with TV remote. 4) Cleaning windows would give even better view at front. 5) We really appreciated the flexibility of having both the car parking permits.
-
"The excellent position of the property."
Parking arrangement. One disadvantage was the stairs...
-
"Well furnished and maintained accommodation in a great setting with wonderful views of the beach, the sea and the harbour."
The only suggestion we would make to improve the experience would be to have a weekly change of bed linen and towels for clients like ourselves who were staying for two weeks or more.
Thank you for your valuable feedback and we are pleased you enjoyed the property and the wonderful views. We would have been delighted to drop off some fresh bed linen and towels for you during your stay, this service is available on request due to the virus this year. We look forward to welcoming you back to Dream Cottages again soon Property Owner

"We have had the most wonderful stay, We both work for the NHS and have not been able to get away, the apartment was very clean, all the equipment was of high standards, we have already recommended to family and friends and we will definitely stay again please thank the owner for a lovely time."

"Was a lovely apartment!"
Plenty of space, bed was extremely comfortable! There was plenty of cutlery and everything you needed if you are cooking in the apartment. The views from the living room where great and the place was very central to everything. Everything like hob, oven, shower etc was easy to use. Only downside was it was a bit noisy on the streets on Friday and Saturday in the early hours but it didn’t ruin our stay we just had a lie on in the mornings! Will 100% book again if we come to Weymouth again it was perfect.
-
"Excellent value,."
Great location, lovely apartment, .
-
"Fabulous holiday, fab apartment."
Can you put an anti slip mat in the bathroom please? A new mattress would be good to as I kept falling to the side of the bed. Beautifully decorated and furnished apartment, fantastic views. Kitchen equipment plentiful. I would stay here again in the future. We loved it ❤
Thankyou for your excellent and valuable feedback, we are glad you loved the beautiful apartment. Thankyou for your comments re the mattress, this was new just over a year ago. We look forward to welcoming you back to Weymouth in the near future. Property Owner
-
"This apartment was in a great location over looking the beach close to all Restaurants shops etc."
Apartment was very clean and modern. Easy to get into the apartment following the clear instructions. I know some people say it is noisy but we did not find this what so ever and loved every minute. Would highly recommend and would 100% return.
-
"We had a really wonderful break at your flat."
It is situated so well right in the centre of things with the most amazing view. We liked also the decor and the colour theme. Just right for a seaside flat. We do hope to book it again when we have a few days to spare. We really, really loved it!
-
"Bit noisy at night but loved it!"

"What a wonderful apartment in a fantastic location - we just loved our stay there."
This is our fourth holiday in Weymouth, and I can honestly say this was by far the best accommodation we have stayed in. Both my husband and I retired in August this year, so we decided for this holiday, as our first as "retirees", we would book better accommodation than we usually do, we have never stayed right on the sea front before. All we can say is that we were not disappointed, the flat is absolutely wonderful, so well designed, furnished and equipped, and spotlessly clean. The owners have provided wonderful accommodation for a holiday. My husband loved it, he said he could quite happily live here full time as our retirement home!! The location is lovely, it was wonderful having a full sea view and watching the activities both on the beach and on the sea. My husband is a "people watcher" so he was in his element. The sofas and chairs were so comfortable, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in (better than ours at home!!). It is so centrally located it is easy to go shopping and out for walks along the esplanade, and easy reach of coffee shops and restaurants - and if you like fish "Rockfish" below the flats is a wonderful place to eat - we ate there three times, and then its just upstairs to bed. Yes, the slight negative is the noise from the music and youngsters from the bar next door on Friday and Saturdays nights, we were expecting this from other feedback, and the property description, but we found it did not disturb us too much, yes the base could be heard until around 3.00am, but as the bedroom is on the back of the apartment it was not than bad, and never kept either of us awake. The other nights were very quiet and we did not notice any noise at all. As my husband said, if you want to be in the thick of it you have to accept a little noise. We love it so much we have already booked our next stay here in June next year, which I daresay won't be our last. Thank you Dream Cottages and The Beaches for a wonderful holiday. Elizabeth Richards

"We loved Weymouth, the location of the flat together with the flat itself which was clean, spacious and well furnished and fitted with a great view."
We had not however expected the noise from the nightclub next door to be as bad as it was. The music which started about 11pm and went on till 3am was bearable, you could hear the beat but it was tolerable. What we had not expected was the level of street noise which started about 2am and went on till 5am (worse from 3am when the club closed for about an hour). With bedroom at the rear of the property the noise from the from the front could be reduced slightly by closing the living room door, however there was nothing that would reduce the noise from the rear alleyway which was certainly not expected and would have thought that the local authority would have made noise from the rear of the building a condition of any application. The noise issues were on Fri, Sat and Thu. Sunday to Wednesday was bliss. We will go to Weymouth again but sadly not to No 5, the noise was a step too far. A couple in flat 2 left on Monday due to the noise.
-
"This was our second stay at this apartment."
Absolutely fantastic position, right on the beach. Wonderful views, and centrally located for everything. Apartment is wonderful, bright, modern, clean and spacious - with quality furniture and fittings. Yes the negative is the noise on a Friday and Saturday night, but we didn't find it that much of a problem, and the positives of this flat certainly outweight the negatives. Will certainly return again.
-
"The accommodation is probably the best I've ever stayed in."
Extremely comfortable with excellent fixtures and fittings. Great location directly looking over beach. Negatives: Dropping baggage of is a bit of a pain, especially in busy periods when the parking wardens are active. It was very noisy on Friday and Saturday evenings, with a couple of bars at the front of the property and a nightclub going in until 3am. The bass could be heard in the bedroom. Explain how the double locks work on the apartment door as both us and the couple in No.6 had the same initial problem.

"Wow, wow, wow - what can I say?"
We have just returned from our first ever visit to Weymouth, and did we enjoy the week. The area is beautiful, we visited Lulworth Cove, Durdle Dor, Portland Bill, lunched on the beach at Wyke Regis, enjoyed walking around the lively harbour eating fish and chips, and sunbathed on the Nothe. Enjoyed a lovely boat ride, (where they even supplied a life jacket for out baby). A perfect weeks holiday, made even more enjoyable from the superb accommodation provided here at "The Beaches", the position is fantastic, having breakfast looking out to sea, and the sailing boats, right in the centre of all the attractions, so nowhere was far to walk. I must admit my wife was a bit dubious on going, after reading the previous feedback, as we have an 11 month old baby, which was posted after we made our booking, but our experience proved to be totally different. We were not bothered by noise at all. We popped into the bar next door "Aura" for a lunch time drink, and I asked about the music - it seems as though they operate as a quiet cocktails bar Sunday to Thursday, with only light background music, and do operate as a "club" on Friday and Saturday nights and are open to 3.00am. On these tow nights for a couple of hours we could hear a faint "boom boom", which we likened to hearing next doors TV thru the wall, as it certainly didn't bother us, and with our TV on we did not hear it at all. We put our son down at 9.30 as usual, and he slept the whole night, and we went to bed around 11.30, and were not disturbed at all. (I maybe feel the previous post was a little unfair). This is a beautiful apartment, brand new, clean and well arranged, beautifully furnished with quality furniture ( and plenty of it - two sofas and a chair for a one bed apartment!), well equipped with a least 6 of everything, the accessories are artwork are lovely (my wife wanted to take a couple of the pictures home), I must say the owners have put a lot of thought and effort into making this a wonderful holiday home - in a fantastic position - one which we plan on to return to later this year. Oh and the icing on the cake, having a dedicated reserved parking space a few minutes walk away, on street parking, if you can find a space is limited to 4 hours for £6.00 and all day parking in car parks was £8.00, so it was nice to go out for the day, and know that when we returned we would have somewhere to park - and it did not cost the earth. This is our forth self catering holiday since getting married, and we can honestly say this far beats anything we have stayed in. Apologies if I appear to go on a bit - but we just loved it, and cant wait to return for another week later this year, and are so pleased we found this little gem, and discovered Weymouth. Our only regret is that s our family grows (hopefully), we will not be able to stay here, but I am sure Dream Cottages will have suitable accommodation for our family, as we will definitely be making Weymouth a regular holiday destination, as it seems to be such a lovely friendly family holiday resort (and being the dotting dad - aren't we all), I want to take my children on the beach rides opposite "The Beaches", and a donkey ride. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday. - Oh and the Services Day parade on Sunday was wonderful, and to sit in the apartment and watch it was great.
-
"Very disappointed at the nightclub that was next door and attached to the building with the nightclub speakers on the dividing wall of the apartment, it was extremely noisy and boomed in the apartment until 3am - this was not mentioned in the listing or warned about."
Also as a recommendation we would recommend a handle rail on the one staircase that does not have one.
I am very sorry that you found the property noisy, I have fed your feedback to the owner who has stayed there several times and has had no significant noise issues to date. As per our property description, The Beaches is located on the lively seafront and at weekends it is a very popular location. With regards to the handrail, this will be looked in to as soon as possible. Property Owner
