  • "Heating was an issue although someone came out quickly with a heater."

The heating thermostat was difficult to read and didn't seem to control anything, needs attention. The smoke alarm in apartment went off for no reason at all and we couldn't turn it off for about 10 minutes then it just stopped, I did report it though. The only other thing I would add is that in the advertisement it states the word "parking" as one of the facilities. Which I took to mean there was parking at the property only to learn that there is a permit you have to use for certain areas. Luckily for us it is November so we easily found a space nearby but summer I imagine would be difficult......................so a bit misleading in the first instance. But we had great time and apartment was good.

Many thanks for your feedback, and glad that overall you enjoyed the property and thought that it was good. Apologies about the heating, in four years of ownership we have never had any other negative issues with it. We will certainly get the electricians in to see if there is an issue with it and rectify it . Glad that Dream Cottages responded immediately and provided a heater. We are a bit confused about your parking comment, the listing clearly states that a "Zone F" parking permit is available for use on a first come first served basis, nowhere does it indicate that parking is available at the property, so not sure why you would have assumed this, it has never been an issue with earlier guests. Apart from them minors it was a lovely place to stay and we will be looking at staying there again in the future maybe try and gett apartments 3 or 4 the ones with the outside balcony.

Many thanks for your feedback, and offer our apologies for the lights not working on the staircases, this had been reported to the block management company on two separate occasions, before they came out and rectified the problem, but understand they are all working now. With regards to the back door of the block, again this had been reported, which I understand has now been fixed. The management company are planning on redecorating all the communal areas over the next couple of weeks. Property Owner

We have been taking our Weymouth holiday in this apartment for a few years now and hope tor return next year. hank you for a good holiday once again.Paul & Helen

Many thanks for your feedback, yes Saturday night can be a little rowdy on the seafront, but this has obviously not had a negative impact on your enjoyment of the flat, considering your many times you have stayed here. Many thanks for your continued custom. Property Owner

Fell a sleep listening to the music from the Kiki lounge which has a really friendly atmosphere ( I had the window open) . If I was going to be picky though the entrance hall and stairs up to the flat could do with some TLC did make me feel a bit appreciative on arrival but the opening the flat door I was very pleasantly surprised. Thank you for a lovely stay and for the hamper and fresh milk. could of happily stayed another week :D

Many thanks for your wonderful feedback and glad that you enjoyed staying here and felt safe and secure. Yes the entrance hall and stairs are in need of some TLC, this has been reported o the management company on many occasions, but understand that this has now been put in hand and will be decorated soon. In an absolutely perfect position with a gorgeous view. We loved it. The only fly in the ointment was the parking. Even with the free pass and out of high season, there just wasn't any, not even for loading/unloading. I wouldn't recommend that anybody stay here unless they either have no car or are prepared to pay for a car park for the duration.

Many thanks for your feedback, and glad that you appreciate the apartment and its location giving wonderful views out to sea. Parking is always an issue on seafront properties, and we appreciate that it is not always easy to find a space. We do provide the on street permit, which gives you along the seafront, around Alexander Gardens, along part of the Harbour and several side streets, but appreciate it is not always easy to find a space. However there is a Strip club, in the road behind, and our weekend away was spoilt by the appalling street noise until 4 30am on both the Friday and Saturday nights. Obviously this is a regular event, the impact of which could be reduced or even eliminated by installing double/triple glazing.

Many thanks for your feedback, and we are pleased that you appreciated the apartment, and found it a lovely property. We were a little surprised that you say that you were kept awake by the noise from behind the property, this is the first time we have been made aware of noise from that direction. There are no windows on that side of the building, and there is another row of properties before the road. However thank you for bring this to our attention and we will look into it. Property Owner

  • "I have been reluctant to leave negative feedback because I feel that the owner isn’t to blame for the cleanliness of the property and the wrong information given by the agents but since they keep asking for my feedback here goes."

We arrived very late evening, upon entering myself and my daughter sat on the bed chatting. I kept scratching my back, feeling an itch, but didn’t take too much notice, until I looked down on the bed and saw a flea hopping about ! I ran to find the vacuum cleaner, managed to vacuum up two fleas ! After that I decided to have have a look around the apartment and was pretty disgusted at what I saw. The toilet was filthy ! (I won’t go into detail ) The sink and bath hadn’t been cleaned either. The lounge had areas with a gathering of someones long hair and lots of dust. I could go on but I won’t. On the positive the bed was made very nicely, although there was what looked like chocolate marks when you pulled back the sheets. I should imagine the owner pays a lot for a cleaning service, which having worked in housekeeping in Center Parcs for a couple of years, I’m pretty sure no cleaning was done, other than the cleaning the previous guests did prior to departure. I phoned Dream cottages in the morning to notify them. Also very disappointing that we wanted a two week holiday but when checking I was told there wasn’t a parking permit with this property. They suggested other places to park, but didn’t know the cost so I just booked a week instead. I was delighted to see a parking permit on the table but annoyed that I was given the wrong information. The apartment had a lovely view and was very central. The Happy Hamper that was left for us was a very thoughtful touch.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry that you found the apartment not up to its usual high standard of cleanliness. I have taken this up with the housekeeping department , as this should not have been in the state that you say it was when you arrived. Thank you for informing Dream Cottages that you were not happy with the state of the apartment. I am not sure about the flea though and where this could have come from. We have many. returning guests over the years we have owned this property and all state how lovely clean and fresh it is when they arrive. As to the parking permit, I am not sure why you were told this as there has always been one provided. But I'm glad other than these issues you enjoyed your stay at the property, and enjoyed the Happy Hamper, which is a new addition we have added to our properties this year. Property Owner

The vacuum cleaner stank of dogs and was unusable, had to open all the windows and put the fan on to get rid of the smell. On the fist night i was bitten by what i believe to be dog fleas, also on second night. Hope you don't mind an honest review but i could not find anywhere that said dogs were allowed. Pity it was nice accommodation.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you said the vacuum cleaner stank of dogs, and you believe you were bitten by a dog flea. Dogs are definitely NOT allowed in the apartment (it is a condition of the lease ). I do wish that you had reported it to Dream Cottages as soon as you were there. I will take up this issue with the Housekeeping Department, to see why they did not pick up on this, as they would have had to use the vacuum). Very airy with the three windows. View fabulous. My only reservation is that this part of town is very noisy at night, the description was transparent about this and I am used to the regular hum of traffic, but this was loud music and shouting from two late bars nearby, one open till 2 am, the other till 4 am. They both have outdoor seating so the noise is not contained, and people leaving are not the most constrained. Very loud, backfiring motorbikes were also, curiously, a regular feature. Also, I am 5ft 2" and found it impossible to reach the cupboard above the microwave to get a bowl for myself. My final 'bad' comment is that there was quite a lot of dust on surfaces when I arrived. The listing said that the road was quiet now due to the closure of a nightclub. This was not the case and was noisy till gone midnight most nights - this should be made clear in the listing. Parking was very difficult. We weren’t advised of the closure of the Pavilion car park (the main car park in the town) prior to our arrival which made parking very difficult. Cleanliness could have been improved, the floor/rug was not clean and we had to hoover ourselves. Glasses/Mugs weren’t that clean either, we had to wash before using them. We didn’t mind this but would’ve expected a better level of cleanliness to begin with. Basic supplies could have been better - broken knives, only 1 baking tray, would have expected at least some foil/food bags but there wasn’t any! The lock on the door was very temperamental and had to be in exactly the right place to lock - very fiddly! Overall, we probably wouldn’t stay again due to location and parking.

The local council should be informed. Some of the instructions were not as clear as they could be. The directions for key collection stated that the key was in a box to the left of the mailboxes and there were THREE key boxes. They should have been numbered according to the flats. The appliances were baffling. Why use touch screen hob and washer instead of dials? We had difficulty getting the hob to work. We could not alter the thermostat despite following the instructions to the letter.Other than that, we loved the flat and enjoyed our visit very much. The flat was in a great location so close to the beach, the harbour, bars, restaraunts and the shops, they were all within easy walking distance. Tha only downside to us was the noise at night, we expected some noise as we knew where the flat was and the write up on the flat does disclose that, however it really was excessive!! There is a nightclub next door that is open until the early hours of morning, you can hear the constant base from the music at all times, from when it starts until the club closes, We could just about live with that, but the noise from the customers outside all night long is unbelievable! It really is on another level! Loud shouting, swearing screaming and calling after one another, arguing, running around over the road to the beach, on the beach, in the little promenade shelter opposite, both when the club is open and after it closed, there were some very large groups of youngsters , even with the windows closed it was impossible to sleep through it. this goes on until at least 4am, yesterday morning the last ones went off at 5.30. • "Not having parking very nearby required quite a lot of logistical planning to get cases in and out of the property, especially on the leaving day, as paid for parking close to the property was all occupied."

It would be better if the parking permit could be dropped off at the property entrance rather than having to take it back up to the room. There was an awful lot of running around involved with meeting the (early) 10 am checkout time. Overall though it was a really lovely location and very well turned out. We had a great time.

  • "The property was immaculate, well equipped, very comfortable, convenient for amenities and a brilliant sea view."

The only downside was the poor weather!!
