  • "This Property should be advertised as a party house, for people that are looking for somewhere that as a base."

If you enjoy live very loud music from 2pm until 4am, love having all of the people that are out for a good time during those hour's, outside of your lounge/bedroom window, this is the house for you. On the other hand if you have a young family and value some sleep at night, run like crazy in the opposite direction. A warning really should be at the top of the description not in the small print at the bottom. It's easy to get carried away from the beautiful photos advertising this property, but be warned.

  • "There were some cobwebs around the house and the backs of the toilet door in the basement and 2nd floor bathroom were grubby /finger marked when we got there."

There was also only one of the 7 toilets with any toilet roll in when we arrived at 6pm on a Good Friday. We struggled to open the padlocks on the parking place and then to lock them again. Just one parking space for a property that size is difficult. We would have gladly paid for a week’s permit somewhere nearby and were disappointed to find this was not an option. The noise from the club next door was a problem but fortunately we had read the reviews and had a family pack of ear plugs which made it bearable. However this was an Easter holiday and not very warm weather, it probably wouldn’t be possible to sleep with the windows open in the summer even with earplugs.

This was our second visit we first visited four years ago. The house is really comfortable and well furnished. We knew there would be noise from nearby nightclub on Friday and Saturday but we were prepared for this. It will not stop us visiting again as we love the house and its location.

  • "The house was absolutely beautiful inside , very stylish , very clean couldn’t fault it inside except for the tin cups and plates and bowls that are more for camping and not for a stylish home ."

Reading the reviews people did comment on the bar that was by the house . Thought we would give it a go as the summer season wasn’t in full swing and we were staying Monday to Friday morning. What a big mistake !!!!! Monday and Tuesday were ok not too noisy as only a few people sitting outside . So here comes to Wednesday night from 11pm -1.30 in the morning a live rock band were playing and it felt like they were in the room with me I tried everything to block out the noise , ear phones , television up load , nothing helped !! Was so upset and stressed with the loudness of the music I couldn’t sleep till 3pm and I needed to be up at 8 as it was on a working holiday with a group of adults with autism and learning difficulties , thanks be I had put them in the back bedrooms but their still heard the music . So Thursday spent the day in much of a daze from lack of sleep So here comes Thursday night our last night , our group had a lovely meal out ,returned to house , packed our bags , as were leaving early in the morning . Got into bed around 10 , sound wasn’t bad from the few people outside in the bar . Just started to fall asleep and guess what another live band started to play at 11 this time they stopped at 1pm Unbelievable !!!! It’s felt yet again that they were playing in my room , put whole house woke up !!!!!! So not another fun night The people who own this house should advertise it only as a party house , if you are up to party and probably want to be in the bar till it closes and then just walk next door to your holiday home it’s perfect for you. Or if you are stone deaf it’s perfect . No way would i recommend that anyone else , families etc stay there !!!! I came home as well as my colleagues and service users feeling shattered , not a great home holiday when you can’t sleep for nights in a row

This property is 2 doors down from a cocktail bar opens 10pm - 4am…..it seems to be the place to go in Weymouth so is extremely noisy all night, you also park behind property which is where the patrons of the cocktail bar use as toilets when leaving late into the night….house and Weymouth is gorgeous, locality to this club is a huge problem, real shame but will go back to Weymouth just not this house.

Which clearly had been in the property previously, as when we opened the door there was a pile of dirty towels and a g-string that our 3-year-old picked up - absolutely disgusting. The noise from the bar next door was constant from 9pm until 4am - we had to leave early as our kids got zero sleep

  • "What a cracker of a home, with beautiful sea views , lovely furnishings inside ,the bedrooms ,showers were all really nice and the kitchen was beautiful and had everything you needed."

The only big downfall to this property although very central is Nooks cocktail bar that basically never shuts and they are open until 4am fri/sat and 1pm the rest of the week .I went prepared with ear plugs and still heard everything pumping music to shouting from everyone drunk out side the house, then the back bedrooms were kept awake by the continuous bottle emptying . Overall it really is an amazing holiday let if you don’t mind not getting any sleep.

  • "The description failed to mention that the cocktail bar two doors up was open until 4am at the weekend and that the noise from the music, people outside and emptying of bottles all night will keep you awake."

The rest of the week it was open until 2am and the DJ liked to turn the volume up at about 11pm. Noise was bad front and back of the house. No broom to sweep floors which was a pain, especially having the lug the hoover up and down the stairs was not ideal. Not enough clothes dryers to dry wet towels. A few spare bath towels would have been useful after all, it’s our holiday and didn’t want to spend our time washing and drying towels when we could be out enjoying the local area. Bigger ceramic mugs (tin ones burnt) especially as we needed the caffeine after been kept awake most of the night

Thankyou for your valuable feedback on your stay at High Tide. We have amended the description on this property so it reflects the music and outside seating area. Hopefully this will make things clearer for future guest bookings. We have also noted the other items you mentioned. We hope you will stay with us again in the future and are always on hand to talk through property locations if you wish. Property Owner

  • "The house was immaculate and the WiFI really helped."

Exceptional bedrooms and bathrooms, the disappointing thing was that the night club two doors down was so noisy and as the weather was hot, we were unable to open any of the bedroom windows at night, due the the noise from the nightclub. To compound matters there were no fans in the house. This resulted in a lack of sleep. It was horrendous. I think that the details on the listing should have made this very clear.

  • "I feel for the host with this review as the issue is outside of their control."

But that said the impact of the cocktail bar next door should be mentioned. We kept up each night until 04:30 with shouting from people sitting outside drinking at the cocktail bar. This definitely isn’t suitable for a young family and shouldn’t be marketed as such. Had we of know then there’s no way we’d have booked. The above said the accommodation itself was flawless. If the issue with the cocktail bar could be resolved would definitely stay again.

  • "High Tide is in a fantastic location, across the road from the beach and close to the shops especially M&S."

The down side to the location is that it is two doors along from a very noisy bar, with lots of outdoor seating which stays open late until the early hours (2/3am). The noise is loudest in the bedrooms facing the beach but there was also noise from the back road that could be heard from the two twin bedrooms. Take good earplugs if you want a chance of getting some sleep. The household equipment was of a high quality (Dualit toaster and kettle) but there was no teapot and no means of making a decent cup of coffee (we bought our own from Range nearby). All the rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, the children loved the games table. The bedrooms were mostly of a good size and well equipped except for the top twin room, a lot smaller and sloping ceiling. Overall we had a great time despite our sleep being disturbed (less so for the children who were in the rear facing twin rooms).

  • "The house was exactly what I expected from the photos on the website but I hadn’t quite anticipated the amount of noise from outside."

We were fortunate that there is currently a 10pm curfew otherwise there could have been even more noise from late night revellers enjoying the nearby bars and nightclub. Most mornings we were woken early by street cleaners, drain cleaners, dustbin lorries or diggers working on the beach. Despite the noise (and light through the shutters) the property was very well appointed and had an extremely convenient location next to M & S and right opposite the beach. Views from the front were outstanding and we all enjoyed watching the cruise ships anchored in Weymouth Bay. High Tide is a very lovely property in a convenient location but you have to appreciate that the location comes with the downside of noise.

  • "Really nice house in a fantastic location."

The views of the beach and sea from the front of the house are lovely. All the bedrooms are really good sizes and the two front ones are really exceptional. Beds were very comfortable. It was mostly very clean but unfortunately we had to mark it down as some of the bins in the bedrooms/bathrooms still had rubbish in them from the previous occupants. I know that the bins should be emptied by the previous occupants at the end of their stay but the cleaners do need to check this has been done as it shouldn't have been left to us to do. This is particularly poor considering the current covid situation. Also need to clean behind the blinds in some of the bedrooms. Everywhere else was really clean. There are lots of restaurants just a short walk away. Do need a bit of luck to get a parking space out the front with the permit and need to be careful as the spaces directly opposite the house are disabled parking only during the day(10am to 5pm). We did see a warden giving tickets. As everything was shutting at 10pm there was no issue with noise from bars and restaurants. Hive heating control on the ground floor kept saying no signal but we managed to sort this out and get this going. One on the first floor was fine. I would definitely be happy to stay here again.

There was totally failure on skyes and dream cottages to put it right or explain. We were even promised several times somebody was on the way round to fix it - they never turned up. I am going to write a letter complaint and I am really disappointed that I had to spend time on my holiday without proper WiFi and dealing with poor customer service

  • "The house was very clean and comfortable and well equipped The location to the beach and shops is excellent, the M&S food hall being so close was a bonus."

The only downside was the lack of consideration of the punters drinking in the "Nook" club a couple of doors along. Most places (as part of their licensed premises agreements) are required to limit noise pollution after 11pm, this place was noisy until at least 3am . The parking permit restriction need to be read carefully, there are two F bays, one is time restricted (opposite the house), ended up with a £35 fine This may be the consequence of being in a central location, and it did not spoil a lovely holiday, the beach and shallow water was great for the children. We would definitely visit again.

  • "The High Tide Property is an amazing property."

The house is beautiful, lovely and modern with all facilities you would expect. But please take note of reviews before you book. Whilst it was a wonderful house (very modern, very clean), the nightclub two doors away is not a typical nightclub. When reading reviews (when I booked last year) there was only one that said there is a club two doors away (there is now one more). This is not actually strictly true. A nightclub in our experience closes at 2am ish and is usually within closed doors - so a little boom from music is expected. This we could have coped with. This place, however, is actually open until 5.30am and all customers are able to sit outside for the duration of the opening time - mostly screaming/shouting/swearing and fighting on friday night. We could not have been more surprised at the noise coming through the non double glazed windows - the people could actually have been sitting in the bedroom. As a consequence, one member of the party had to actually sleep on the bathroom floor with the door shut to get any type of sleep. The people at the rear of the property also had noise from people coming from another club. A family might find it challenging, or they might not - but just want people to be aware. Just wish I had known before I booked last year. :-(

Such a shame it is 2 doors away from a night club that played music until 5 am in the morning both nights we were there (Friday and Saturday). We were a family of 20 so hired both houses, High Tide and Low Tide and unfortunately everyone sleeping at the front of both houses were disturbed all night by the music and people coming and going from the nightclub.
