  • "The house was amazing and so much space."

I do feel it could do with a proper clean but understand this is not what is done. Also the bar next door is open until 4am apart from Sunday and had we known it was that late we would have not stayed there. Having said that the house and where it was, was outstanding

  • "The house is in a great location right on the sea front and close to shops, restaurants and cafes."

It was clean and comfortable with good quality beds, bedding and towels. We especially loved the large open plan kitchen dining area and the sitting room. As a large family group this was perfect for us. The few niggles we had were firstly on the practical domestic front. We preferred to cook most evenings and discovered the cooker seal had come off so we fixed this. We also found that some toilet roll holders had come off, which we couldn’t fix. Finally, as mentioned in details about the house, the Nook bar next door has live music from Tuesday to Saturday. We were aware of this when booking though discovered that when it is a live guitarist/band that as this is in the front bar right next to the front of the house it is as loud as though you are actually sitting in the bar because there is no noise reduction. Maybe the owner (if they haven’t already) could speak to the Nook about moving this to the back of the bar or adding in some kind of noise reduction. Also, people smoking outside can tend to sit on the front door step and leave cigarette butts and bottles of beer which isn’t so nice when leaving the house in the morning! Coming from London where we live opposite a pub we were expecting and prepared for the noise but found these aspects unfortunate as the house is so lovely.

  • "The house was lovely and in a lovely location in terms of the beach, nice restaurants, etc."

The property could benefit from some general redecoration in the circulation areas, hallways, stairs, etc as these were quite scuffed, etc. But the house had everything we needed and more! The property description does say that there are bars on the doorstep and that loud music until the early hours would happen... BUT.... early hours meant 4am at the weekends and 1am every night of the week. After the music turns off, the drinking and loud conversation go on for another hour at least!! Then the clean up and maintenance starts at 7am!! Jet washing outside, etc. I think that maybe the property is listed because it is single pane windows so you can hear everything!! On our 1st night the noise stopped around 5pm but we were then woken at 7am with the clean up and then at 10am the door was banging - a cleaner was there to do the 'change over' as he has been sent the wrong information! Not ideal after the rubbish nights sleep. Having said all that, the house was beautiful and I would return but not with children.

The neighbours are noisy and it was hard to sleep some nights, particularly in the front bedrooms.

  • "The property is gorgeous."

There was a few Matinace issues I contacted Sykes and they resolved what they could straight away but there was issues they couldnt resolve. The cleanliness wasn’t the best either as we found a dirty broken plate in one of the draws there was wrappers under one of the beds.the sheets was stained in one of the rooms.the carpet was stained in the main bedroom some of the windowsill was covered in dust.there was empty bottles in one of the kitchen cupboards.as for the house it self it is in a prime location the owners have put the money in to the property as it is high end furniture but I it is right next to a cocktail club that is playing very loud music until 4.00am on Friday and sat and 1.00am the rest of the days.it was a family holiday so if I was aware of that I wouldn’t of booked this property it dose say how close it was to the bars but not that you are right next to a night club.

  • "We have just had the most amazing week at Low Tide."

We were delighted with the position of the house, it’s proximity to the beach and facilities and the overall comfort inside. The only negative was the noise from the neighbouring bar, which on 3 nights of the week did go on until 4am. This was referred to in the property description so we were aware, and not all our party were troubled by it but it would heavily influence our decision to return. I would highly recommend the property from every other aspect .

  • "The house is incredible."

It’s been renovated to a really high standard and we had the most wonderful stay. Had everything we needed. If they could replace the front bay window with triple glazing to drown out the noise from the bar next door it would be perfect. Hasn’t stopped us from booking again though.

  • "Absolutely loved the house just a few niggles, only 8 forks, hardly any glasses, dirty cutlery in the draws and dirty plates and bowls in the cupboards."

Very noisy at night from the club Nextdoor but we knew about that. The bins were full from when we got there so had to take rubbish to the bins on the front.

  • "In general we were thrilled with the quality of the house, the fittings were excellent; the location, being so near to the beach amazing for a family holiday."

. However, as per my previous email, there were one or two things missing in the house - for example insufficient cutlery and insufficient glasses. The one huge difficulty was being next door to a cocktail bar - which was never mentioned in any of your advertising or listings regarding Low Tide. The noise every night was horrendous - it went on until 2am or 4am every night, bar Sunday, which was the only night we slept. I really feel this should be mentioned in your advertising - perfect for a hen or stag party, but not for a long-awaited family holiday with grandparents and very young children. I would be interested to know what your response to my complaints may be.

  • "The house, and general experience was of high quality, as expected."

All of my party enjoyed a wonderful stay in Weymouth, the location was in the heart of where we wanted to be, there was a trade off with back ground noise against being close to the beach, shops and entertainment. But this did not take anything away from our holiday.

  • "Lovely big house."

Very clean. It is noisy at night but it didn’t spoil our week. It quietens down around 3am so you still get some uninterrupted sleep every night. The location is perfect. The cocktail bar next door does take away which is really good and ideal for sitting in our one of the bay windows people watching. M&S is about 25 metres away so you can just decide what you want to eat each day and walk next door to get it. We found that a much more flexible way to eat with the kids. Highly recommended

  • "Low Tide is beautiful: the beds are comfortable, bathrooms are gorgeous, couches are comfortable, the kitchen table is huge, views are great from the front windows, the games table is a brilliant touch - we enjoyed it a lot (but it would be nice it we could turn off the sound!"

). Before we booked, we read the reviews about the club next door. We only booked the property because it was during lockdown and we knew the club would not be open. There was some noise from the club most evenings but on Halloween it was pretty noisy - until 10pm, which was fine. However, this is one of the things you expect when you book a town centre house with shops and clubs all around. But the windows are single glazed and and you can hear traffic outside. The blinds let in light: there is a bizarre street light across the road that lets light directly into the bedroom. In the road behind the house, barmen dump bottles and bin lorries collect bottles from the bars all evening and in the early morning. The kitchen is great (love the under-cupboard LED lights); however. there was absolutely nowhere to put food. No empty cupboards! So we had to pile our Tesco order on the breakfast bar. The house sleeps 10 so I would expect a bigger fridge; there is an under-counter fridge and an under-counter freezer. We had a Tesco delivery the first night and there was not much room. The drinks fridge, however, is fabulous. The kitchen needs more forks. There is no cheese grater or potato masher. You need more tumblers and tall tumblers, not shot glasses (maybe that's just us). There were plenty of nice wine glasses though. The pans are very good quality. Mugs: there are two lots of mugs, one tin, which are awkward to drink out of, and the heart ones, which are uncomfortable to hold; the handle is too tiny. Comfortable mugs would be great. A lot of the plates are tin, which seems weird. Maybe it's to avoid breakages on the stone floor?! The location of the house is really good: the beach is right across the road, you’ve got the harbour, all the walks around Weymouth, the shops - there is plenty to do locally. We were really pleased with that, and it was perfect for our teens to be able to go out for walks and to the fair/amusements/Subway, etc. when they liked. However, the parking is tricky. What we loved: all the lovely touches, the paintings throughout the house, the mirrors, the comfy couches, the games table, the beds, the big baths, the tables and chairs in the front windows, the view, the space. Little touches like the blankets. But I'm afraid I would never book the house out of lockdown. It would be far too noisy.

Such a shame it is 2 doors away from a night club that played music until 5 am in the morning both nights we were there (Friday and Saturday). We were a family of 20 so hired both houses, High Tide and Low Tide and unfortunately everyone sleeping at the front of both houses were disturbed all night by the music and people coming and going from the nightclub.
