"A fantastic lodge, in a perfect location for exploring Dorset."
Everything you could need has been thought of. The welcome sign and welcome pack for us and our dog was lovely. Included a powerful waterfall shower and a very comfy bed. Would recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when heading this way in the future.

"This was a cosy and immaculate cottage perfect for a break."
Beautifully furnished and well equipped. Enclosed garden was perfect for our dog who could come in and out safely and enjoy pottering around the patio or basking in the sun. The welcome pack for both us and our dog were both very kind and a lovely message on chalk board to greet us on entry through the door. Weather good apart from one day and the excellent location of the cottage meant we could visit many places especially the coast. Only downside was that the very close local pub was closed for reconstruction which would have been ideal. We would love to return though for another stay either here or Thimble Cottage next door which I am assuming is owned by same people.
Thank you for the great feedback and you are very welcome back in the Future and yes we own Thimble cottage too. kindest regards Simon and Bobbie Property Owner

"Lovely cottage."
Disappointed with the smell when we walked in it smelt like stale water where wet washing had been left to dry in there. We had to leave the door open and windows we also brought air fresheners. The cottage needs to have a good airing.
We are really sorry that there was a smell of stale water we will look into this and rectify it.This is our first ever less than a 100% on cleanliness which we work hard to achieve so once again we are sorry. But thank you for your feedback. kindest regards Simon and Bobbie Property Owner

"Lovely little property perfect for a couple spotlessly clean and comfortable."
Thank you for choosing to stay with us and thank you for your feedback. Kindest regards Simon and Bobbie Property Owner

"The property itself was immaculate."
The only issue that we encountered was the fact that we opted to use our smaller third car and thank goodness we did because the other two vehicles (one of which is a VW campervan) would not have been able to access the parking bay which was extremely difficult to get onto due to the narrowness of the lane and the slope at the entrance to the parking area. Of course, you can park on the road in the village itself, although this would not be our preference. The welcome pack was an amazing gesture and we would definitely recommend the lodge to others.

"An excellent property, clean and very comfortable very well equipped."
The welcome pack was a lovely and much appreciated surprise. We had a brilliant holiday.
-
"Very compact but cosy."
Everything you need provided. Torches for dark roads very welcome. Nice dog secure courtyard. Easy parking. Good location for exploring Dorset.
-
"A really nice, compact place to stay."
A secure outside area (good for people like us with dogs who will sniff out the tiniest hole to escape through). A field across the road to walk the dog. Really enjoyed our stay.
-
"Small compact unit."
Could do with a little more hanging space for clothes and a larger outdoor area. However we could not fault the quality or the cleanliness of the property which is also very well equipped. It suited us for our weeks stay and made our stay in Dorset all the better.
-
"The owners have made the cottage absolutely first class accommodation."
The welcome pack was great. Good location, nice private courtyard to sit out in.
-
"The property is well equipped and comfortable."
Transport definitely needed to get about. Local pub not open very much.
-
"Barrow Lodge is a beautiful property and exactly as the photos and description provided."
Everything needed for our stay had been carefully considered, and the welcome pack and note displayed on the heart shaped chalk board were all thoughtful additions We had a very comfortable and relaxing experience
-
"Absolutely first class property provided by Simon & Bobbie, cannot fault in any way."
Property was immaculate and a very nice touch was the welcome gift basket containing bread, bottle of wine and lemon drizzle cake ! Location in the lovely village of Winterborne Stickland was ideal for exploring Dorset and the excellent local pub, The Crown, is only a minutes walk away and offers excellent food and beer. Had a fantastic holiday and would definitely stay there again.
-
"Well fitted out lovely welcome hamper but far too small,Weather was against us so we had to stay in the property for."
long periods,we decided to come home two days early,
-
"Very new and shiny!"
The village is delightful and the pub conveniently placed 4 doors away. We would stay there again happily.
-
"A beautiful cottage, with all the home comforts."
Would definitely book again.
-
"Immaculate and homely accommodation in a quiet village providing a very relaxing and restful stay."
We really appreciated the welcome pack on arrival providing bread, milk, cake and wine. Good location for visiting local towns and the coast, and a pub providing food just a short walk away. Would certainly stay again if visiting Dorset.
Thank you for your kind feedback. Glad you had a good stay. Hopefully you will visit Dorset again soon. Kindest Regards Simon & Bobbie Property Owner

BLANDFORD FORUM

Blandford Forum is a market town in Dorset, England, situated by the River Stour. Notable for its Georgian architecture, most of the town was rebuilt in the 18th century after it was destroyed by a fire in 1731. King George II made a donation to rebuild the town centre with designs from local architects John and William Bastard. The Blandford Georgian Fayre is an annual event held in the first week of May and celebrates its Georgian heritage, with presentations, historical re-enactments and music and dancing. One of the town’s biggest events takes place on the late Bank Holiday weekend, the Great Dorset Steam Fair. A largely colourful festival with over 2,000 exhibits and an old time steam funfair. Offering a wide selection of independent store, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, cafés and a Georgian tearoom. So much to visit within this quaint town and makes for a wonderful tourist attraction, whatever the season.
