  • "A lovely week in this property."

2 minor suggestions: a teapot would be lovely, and, for light sleepers, it would be nice if the hinges on the bathroom door were oiled to eliminate the squeaks ;-). FYI, please check the torch: likely i was doing something wrong, but i couldn't get it to hold a charge long enough to even quit squeezing the handle AND to read digits on lockbox---great hand exerciser tho! That electric "wood stove" was wonderful after a chilly day out; warmed us quickly!

Dear Miss Jensen, We are delighted your enjoyed your stay at Winter Cottage. There are actually 2 torches at the cottage, the kinetic torch kept in the porch and a battery powered torch kept in the kitchen.I accept that the kinetic torch requires constant squeezing and would not be ideal when trying to open the lock box. Also, I realise that, having found one torch, you would not think to look for another torch. I will think of somewhere more visible to store the battery torch and I will probably remove the kinetic torch. I have oiled the hinges! Thanks for alerting me. Kind Regards, Steven Property Owner

  • "Loved our stay at Winter Cottage - the beds were comfy and the house was cosy."

We definitely would stay again however a couple of things that were a tad disappointing: 1 bin bag only for a 2 week stay No milk in arrival - the first cottage ever to not supply this that we’ve booked on Sykes 2 loo rolls only for a 2 week stay Issues with cleaners coming halfway through the stay but they were sorted eventually - but no loo roll or bin bags replenished. By that time we had just bought our own.

Dear Mrs Matthews, We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Winter Cottage. Yours was the first mid-stay clean we have organised and I apologise that there were issues with the cleaners not arriving at the agreed time. Also, I was very surprised to learn that they had not replenished basic items like loo rolls and bin bags. I have agreed with the cleaners that they will do this in future. We paid for a full cleaning service so I don't understand why they overlooked the re-stocking. Regarding the milk, the cleaning team pointed out that people have many different milk requirements these days - dairy, soya, oat etc - and that's why they never provide milk. I'm keeping an eye on the situation and will step in if milk provision continues to be an issue. Best Regards, Steven Property Owner

  • "We had a great relaxing week at Winter Cottage and would recommend to others."

Close proximity to local businesses, Co-op, a fantastic Indian restaurant, an amazing Italian restaurant who caters for takeaways (we had a dog staying with us at the cottage). Local walk for the dog down to Clare Castle and grounds and a lovely fish van on a Friday selling fresh produce, delicious. The surrounding villages and the coast are worth visiting too. We will be staying here again.

  • "Winter cottage is a lovely well equipped, maintained and very comfortable place to stay."

The neighbours were friendly and it is conveniently situated in the town and near lots of lovely walking country. However the outside space was very disappointing and having to walk the dog around the corner everytime she wanted to go out was a pain. The cottage is also situated on quite a busy junction which was noisy at times.

  • "Lovely old cottage in the heart of beautiful Clare."

Delightful views of the local church. Flooring is uneven, especially in the bedroom but to be expected in a property of this age. Car parking is usually available nearby the property. Local pubs, restaurants and walks just a short stroll away.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Winter Cottage. Thank you for your lovely comments. Steven Property Owner

  • "Had an amazing stay Lovely touch of prosecco and chocolate Everything you need for cooking, a few games in a cupboard, some books, a hairdryer (brought my own in case as I wasn't sure what it had)."

Two lovely double rooms (I only used one but the bed was big and very comfortable). Local restaurant, shops, bakery, beautiful place. Lovely walks nearby and a book in the cottage which writes about the walks. Would love to come back, and will be recommending it.

Thank you for such positive feedback. Based on your comment, we have updated the description on the website so that the availability of 2 hairdryers is known to guests at time of booking. I'm glad you appreciated the Clare Walks book. We are working through those walks and have found the book to be a great way of exploring the area. We hope to welcome you back soon.
