  • "Lovely quiet warm & clean annexe, the owners were lovely and helpful."

Beautiful views and wildlife. Great place as base for day walks. Great place for couple to unwind. Would visit again.

  • "Thank you to Ian and Anna for a lovely stay at Polly's Annexe."

This property is truly a treasure. The property is well equipped and very comfortable. The view from the living area is exceptional and plenty of wildlife ranging from hares to deer. The view across to the port is captivating and especially lovely first thing in the morning through the mist. Anna and Ian have the right mix between being available for any questions, but also letting guests have their privacy. A couple of minor suggestions, providing a brief instruction hints/tips sheet on heating the hot tub. Adding a wifi booster plug in the property to ensure consistent strong coverage. To conclude, we had the best break, lovely and relaxing. Highly recommend to people thinking about staying here, it's special.

  • "Polly's Annex was an incredible place to stay—a true gem."

It was peaceful place, with much entertainment provided by local wildlife rabbits, hares, squirrels, and herds of deer parading around the annex throughout both day and night. The accommodation was both comfortable and luxurious, with all the amenities we needed. The views over the Orwell coast to Felixstowe docks were breathtaking and truly came alive at night. A fantastic relaxing stay to get away from it all, thoroughly recommend it.

What more could one ask for. Anna gave us a personal tour of the property and Ian very kindly delivered the weekend newspapers. Stunning location with ever changing views across the estuary. Highly recommend this accommodation

We loved the hot tub. You need to know how to light a fire though. Take plenty of logs with you. Very quiet & private. Resident deers & hares. A real treat.

  • "Ian greeted us with a welcoming smile and was so very helpful when we needed assistance."

The Annexe is superb and the view is to die for. If you are thinking of booking do not hesitate but bear in mind it is very isolated/peaceful and if blessed with good weather - as we were - you would be hard to beat it. The hot tub was an added bonus.

  • "One of the best we have been to."

..especially for it's remoteness and fabulous escape from noise of any kind except birds and wildlife. Talking of which!- it was like staying in a little mini zoo with all the wildlife that visited us! Resident 3 hares, green woodpecker, deer, badger,.....all framed nicely by the sweet lullaby of almost none stop skylarks singing .Wow. If you want to escape the noise and pressure of city living then this IS the for you. Didn't want to come home. There is a very long bumpy unmade track to the cottage...but that was a healthy price to pay for the solitude! Just get into the practice of putting car in 1st gear and trundle slowly along and enjoy the surroundings! Mega thanks to Ian and Anna...top hosts who love a chat . No noise whatsoever from the owners house aside the cottage. Can't wait to come back

  • "Lovely ‘Annex’, overlooking the Orwell estuary with a spectacular light show from the Felixstowe docks every evening."

Helpful, discrete owners on hand for queries. We would only add a hand towel in the kitchen - picky, picky. All else was delightful. Very convenient to get to local sights and a friendly pub up the road. Will recommend to friends visiting Suffolk.

Everywhere was impeccably clean. Air fryer was so handy, we had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed the break. Be great to see the building when it’s rendered but the design and quality is amazing and with the view of the countryside you don’t really sit and look at the house. Loved the walks and little country pub, even popped into the beautiful church. We will definitely be returning

  • "What a beautiful cottage surrounded by stunning scenery!"

From pre arrival to departure, the host (Ian) was incredibly helpful and very warm. The cottage and its grounds were even more stunning than the pictures. The cottage was tastefully decorated to high specs, cosy and bright especially with the morning rays. Everything you need is provided within the cottage. Close proximity to the beach and lovely views of Felixstowe from the front patio. Very family friendly and lots deer , Suffolk hare and rabbits to see from the living room windows. This was the highlight for our daughters. The host was just brilliant and nothing was too big a deal. Always with a smile. Only thing I'll change about the cottage is the see through bathroom windows, would be ideal to have frosted windows or blinds for privacy as you can see in from outside ( though it's round the side of the house ). Overall, it was an excellent cottage with absolutely beautiful surroundings which was also very relaxing. Will definitely be back for a longer period next time.

  • "The annex is without doubt in a wonderful and peaceful location with fabulous views across open field's with no near neighbours apart from the owner's."

The annex itself was very high spec build, modem furnishing and décor throughout. It had everything you would need down to a can opener. The Annex has under floor heating in the open plan lounge, this was not that warm at night time, however blankets are provided. The bathroom is a jack and jill bathroom connecting both bedrooms, however in the bathroom there is no blind and the window is not frosted. This is not practical if you are sharing with family or friend's. The host heated the hot tub for us the following day after we arrived. It is heated by wooden logs with no heating regulator [the temperature went up to 44.5 dg] the only way to cool it down was to use a garden hose. The next time we asked the host for the hot tub he told us it took him a whole day to heat it last time he did for us out of the goodness of his heart [Thank you] and that if we wanted the hot tub again to go and buy our own logs and heat it ourselves. This was not in the description about bring logs or we would have never have booked, that is the only real negatives.

  • "Thank you for a wonderful stay."

Nothing was too much trouble for our Hosts and they responded so quickly to our questions. The Annexe is beautiful with lovely views and we really enjoyed watching the wildlife, especially the Deer in the next field. Minor negatives would be lack of freezer (although, we were soon bought some ice when we mentioned it!) Having a lovely big ice bucket but no way of making ice seemed a shame. Also, some chopping boards, as we were really conscious that the beautiful worktops could be easily damaged. Also need a bottle opener. But very minor issues. Would like to mention the hosts again. They were so lovely, the welcome goodies were a lovely surprise and the cake was DELICIOUS. Would definitely stay again.

The view from the Annexe is heavenly in every direction and the best thing is the privacy. I can't express enough how grateful I am for creating such a wonderful retreat.
