  • "A lovely place to stay."

Quiet, good views, not too far from shops. Excellent for the dog, with a totally enclosed garden. Everything about Heatherlea was of good quality. The owner is to be commended.

  • "Thank you for a really lovely stay at Heatherlea."

We had a wonderful time. The house is so lovely, very comfortable and really well equipped. It was such a pleasure staying there. It’s a great, central location to explore the islands. The dogs loved the garden and our beds were so comfortable. The house was spotlessly clean throughout. Would definitely recommend Heatherlea. I can imagine in the summer it would be lovely to sit outside and enjoy the garden.

  • "Super stay at Heatherlea."

The property was perfect. Everything you could want in a holiday let - very clean, well equipped and tastefully furnished. Excellent setting and a lovely view from the front decking. Garden was very secure for our dog, no worries about letting her out to enjoy the garden. All in all an excellent home for a holiday. Thanks very much!

  • "Heatherlea is absolutely fantastic - the best, very high quality."

It is so beautifully appointed with lovely, calm decoration and features, and so well, generously equipped; we had all we needed and much more. The beds and linen are super-comfortable and the whole place is light, bright and airy. The location is excellent for getting to know North Uist and the other islands and the views are just wonderful. It is brilliant that it is dog-friendly too - thank you. We had excellent sightings of birds throughout our stay from the house, especially Short-Eared Owls hunting around the house and sitting on the fence posts in the garden - so very special. I can highly recommend Heatherlea for the best of holidays.

  • "Heatherlea was a great holiday venue and we would certainly use it again."

R Houses ( Rural House) are a great Hebridean addition to the landscape and make for lovely open plan Scandi living. There were a few improvements we would suggest. 1. The bed linen and towels were not to the same high standard as they didn’t feel/smell fresh. This probably came from storing too long in the chest or storing unaired. In addition the bed sheet in the upstairs double didn’t fit the mattress well. 2. The upstairs double room door didn’t close fully as it’s too tight to the floor. Couldn’t have been a new problem. 3. Kitchen utensils were generally good but we needed more chopping boards . There was a single medium size cafetière which was not the best. Pls add some more ! Thanks Richard Pearce
