"A very enjoyable stay with very hands on and thoughtful hosts."
Stunning views. Very comfortable cottage and some extra little things that make it special. Couldn't have asked for anything more. A big thank you to Jo and Erik.
-
"Perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas and the view from the property was just spectacular."
The property is very well equipped and the swings in the garden were very much enjoyed by our children, even in the rain. The owners were extremely helpful and informative. Hopefully they will read this so we can pass on our thanks for a lovely stay as we left early and did not want to disturb them.
Thank you for the lovely feed back. We are glad that you had a good time here. Property Owner

"Our stay was made very enjoyable by Jo and Eric."
They are a wonderful couple. There was a problem with the hot water supply but both of them worked very hard to resolve it and also allowed us to take a shower in their residence which is right next door. Both are very warm and friendly and lovely to talk to. The location of the cottage is fabulous. All the essential amenities were provided and we had no issues at all. Will always love to go there again.
Thank you, for the lovely feedback. Property Owner

"It is a spacious property with good facilities and is ideally situated for exploring the area."
These places are hard to find and this one is a gem. Polite and helpful owners who have taken the trouble to ensure you have a great view across the glen with birds feeding outside the windows. A really good find with plenty of easy parking. Visit the Clan Cameron museum nearby and places like Invergarry Castle Hotel and Emily's Byre will give you well-prepared food at a decent price.

"Lovely cottage with wonderful view of Ben Nevis from whole of living area."
Well situated to explore the area by car. Would happily stay there again.
Thank you Property Owner

"Pros: It is a lovely house with stunning views in a fantastic location."
Very completely equipped. Very nice to have two bathrooms and we loved the airfryer. Cons: The house is somewhat dated and the interior could do with some mending and upgrades. The couch is very soft and the diningroom chairs a little uncomfortable.

"We loved this cosy cottage!"
The view and setting are lovely. Even in the rain! The hosts were very helpful and lovely. It’s a great base from which to visit lots of interesting places and some lovely walking very close by. We would definitely recommend it :)

"We had a lovely stay at this property."
The cottage was well equipped and the hosts were very approachable. Location was fantastic and the views from the property were amazing.. Our Grand daughter loved the tree swing in the garden. We really hope to return to this property in the near future

"A fabulous week at Alba Ben View."
The cottage is comfortable, with all the facilities you should need. The very best points are the fantastic views of Ben Nevis from the living area , the friendliness of the hosts and their local knowledge of best places to visit, and the bonus of a hot tub and sauna. So many things to see and do, especially if you like walking. Ben Nevis summit offers the most fabulous views if you get a clear day and enjoy hiking up and down mountains

"We had a fantastic week at Alba Ben View."
The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic: very peaceful with spectacular views across to the Ben Nevis range, and easy access to local attractions and many classic mountain routes. We climbed ten Munros during our stay and there are plenty more that we could have climbed nearby. We will certainly return in the future, we had a lovely time.

We will definitely be staying there again.

"Thank you for a lovely stay."
Perfect location for day trips out to Ben Nevis range, Loch Ness etc. The kids really enjoyed the tree swing. Really friendly owners with lots of useful information about the area and it was a lovely warm cottage. Only 1 mile to the local spa and pub down the hill. We had had clear evening and was able to see so many stars it was amazing. We will be back again soon.

"A nice comfortable cottage."
Well equipped. Good views. Owner was very friendly although I was not around much to chat Could maybe do with new be-linen and towels.

"My recommendation score of zero is relating to Sykes cottages, rather than the actual property."
I had originally booked this cottage for another date. Something cropped up and rather than cancel the booking I asked to move the date, which was duly done. However, my original booking had a cost of over £700 for the week. The revised date had a cost of £450. Sykes cottages continued to charge me the full amount! So, had the reverse been the case, would I have only had to pay £450 for a £700 week? I doubt it! I challenged this and Sykes tried to say that the matter was up to the owner... and refused to discuss it further. I booked this cottage through Sykes, not the owner. This should have been dealt with by Sykes. Needless to say, I will NEVER book another stay through Sykes Cottages. Customers beware. The actual cottage was located in a gorgeous setting with spectacular views. Inside the cottage, although comfortable, the facilities are dated and this property would benefit from investment. Particularly the hot tub and sauna area - very dated.

"The cottage was great and the owners were helpful with ideas of places to go although as a photographer I had researched a lot of where I wanted to get landscapes."
Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate as there was a lot of rain and the autumn colour was not as good as usual but then we haven’t had any frost to help the colours. But when you come in October/November you take your chances and I only spent three days totally at home in the cottage, the rest of time I was able to get out and I had a couple of glorious days where I went to the best places.

"Very good value for money."

"Alba Ben View cottage, Spen Bridge."
Without a doubt this is one of the best, comfortable cottages we have stayed in (we have stayed in many, over the last few years). The owners Eric & Jo, welcomed us on arrival, and throughout our stay were most helpful and accommodating, with tips where to go and visit, and routes with good views, and local history. The views from the large picture windows, of the snow covered mountains were amazing, and changes to the sky super, even in the rain. We felt we had made new friends, and hope to return again in the summer. Marjorie & James from West Yorkshire.

"Eric & Jo where amazing hosts nothing was too much trouble ."
Views where amazing beds where so comfortable great night's sleep from day one . Can't thank them both enough for everything we will be returning highly recommend .
-
"Lovely little cottage with a simply fantastic view!"
Very friendly and helpful owners right next door. We were thrilled to see so many birds at the bird table just outside the two huge picture windows, and the morning views of Ben Nevis were amazing. Very comfy beds and both rooms had en-suite showers and toilets, with even a shower stool provided for one shower! Will definitely stay again!
-
"Such a wonderful location with brilliant views of the Nevis range."
Great hosts who know the area for recommendations. We took the Jacobite Train to Malaig and it didn’t disappoint. Visited Glencoe, Glengarry, Avimore and Glenfinnan for your typical Scottish scenery. Only thing to disappoint was the weather but then again this was Scotland and it does rain a lot.
-
"How welcome we were made to feel on our arrival."
Eric shared his knowledge and experience of the area and we did visit one or two of his suggestions. The hot tub was an added bonus for us as we have not really experienced this luxury before. Please remember to remove all body lotions before submerging into the water. It affects the water and needs to be changed which is both a waste and very time consuming. The house itself is like a home from home . Everything we needed was on site. A delightful stay in a beautiful part of Scotland. The views from the windows are stunning . Highly recommended
-
"Owners were extremely helpful and informative."
...views to die for and an excellent centre for touring...would recommend without hesitation
-
"Really super location for all the outdoor goodness of the area and a view that could keep you in the cottage all day."
Nothing fancy just all the things you need. We loved watching the local birds in the garden too

"For those of you who want a cottage that is pretty central for the Highlands we couldn't recommend this cottage enough."
The owners actually live next door, which is handy if there are problems, but after the initial greeting they never bothered us once. The directions to get to the cottage are spot on. The beds were very comfortable and there are adequate kitchen utensils for making your own meals, if you want to. As to food shopping, there is a Spar shop in Speanbridge and there is a large Aldi, a large M&S Foodhall, a large Home Bargains and a large Morrisons in and close to Fort William, which is not far away, so plenty to choose from. The cafe in Speanbridge is good for food during the day, even do a good breakfast and if you want something just a bit special we can highly recommend the Old Pines Hotel and Restaurant next door, where the service and food were really good. There are plenty of places to visit within driving distance, however, there is also a lovely walk just across the road, if you cross the road you will see some wooden steps which lead to a gravel footpath, if you turn right the footpath leads you to the Commando memorial, if you turn left there is a lovely, safe, fume free walk into Speanbridge, where you can join further footpaths and walks, it is called the Highbridge Footpath. Finally, there is the fantastic view, from the lounge window, of the Nevis Range, including Ben Nevis, that greets you each morning, weather permitting. As to the weather, there is no such thing as bad weather, just a bad choice of clothing!

"The cottage was full of useful things such as washing up liquid, cafetiere, games, DVDs, cling film and kitchen roll."
The owners have made every effort to ensure that the equipment and facilities are excellent. The view from the property is especially stunning (Ben Nevis and Aochan Mor).
-
"This was a lovely holiday cottage, the owners have thought of everything for a perfect stay."
The hot tub was fantastic at the end of a busy day, the views from the cottage window in the lounge are gorgeous, we will definitely return.
-
"We have had a lovely time our cottage was well equipped with everything you need and more."
Jo and Eric were able to give us good advice on things to do and where to eat. The views from the window was beautiful and watching the different birds coming to the bird table, which was constantly topped up was lovely. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well.
-
"Has a mini (table top) freezer as well as freezer compartment in under counter fridge."

"Brilliant holiday, the views and scenery where breathtaking."
Fully enjoyed the hot tub and sauna facilities and the owner of the cottage was very kind and had plenty of lacal information and knowledge on things to do in the area. Would definitely stay again.
-
"As I found this property before showing my partner the person I was discussing the details of the property said they would reserve the property for 24 hours until I showed him."
The property was perfect great views of the mountains, hosts were very welcoming and let us just relax no rush on getting out and let us check in early as travelled up from Southampton over night. Great facilities within the property, hot tub, sauna and all cooking equipment including slow cooker which was great to put on before we heading out for the day and come back to a lovely homemade dinner.
-
"Eric and Jo were very welcoming and helpful."
The cottage was very cosy with the most amazing views outside the front. The hot tub and sauna were a wonderful extra bonus. Would definitely stay again. Was in the perfect location for skiing at the Nevis range.
-
"The owners of the cottage were extremely helpful with local knowledge of the best places to visit and which restaurants to avoid and which to patronise."
Their help was better than any guide book and made our holiday much better.
-
"Had an amazing week"
-
"Great location overlooking the Nevis range."

-
"Great wee cottage set just outside Spean Bridge."
Very homely and welcoming. The views from the living room window are simply stunning! Looking over Anoach Mor and Ben Nevis. Eric and Jo (the owners) were welcoming and recommended some places to eat, a few of which we tried and were not disappointed. My wife and I spent a week here and it passed so quickly. I will certainly be making a return visit
