The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything you could need. The hot tub was the icing on the cake and we enjoyed using it come rain or shine! Hazel couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful.

  • "Braemore cottage was the best holiday accommodation we have ever had."

The cottage is in the most beautiful position with panoramic views 360 degrees. Hazel and her family are super friendly and can't do enough for you, every small detail has been thought of and we are already planning next year's visit. The view from the hot tub is worth the visit alone.

Great location and fab views. The hot tub was great. Hazel and Finlay are fantastic hosts - very helpful and friendly while respecting your privacy at the same time. We will definitely return to Braemore Cittage and would not hesitate to recommend a stay here to family and friends.

  • "A great cottage with unrivalled dramatic views."

Only 10 minutes from the Tarbert Ferry, with good local shopping and amenities, and close to great walking and sightseeing at Luskentyre, Hushinish and Scalpay. Good restaurants nearby too. The cottage itself is modern and spacious - warm and welcoming. The hot tub is an additional bonus for relaxing and taking in the views. Kitchen is well-appointed, but would maybe benefit from a bigger freezer for longer stays or during hot summer weather (which is not out of the question even in the Outer Hebrides!). The hosts are very attentive and helpful and live close enough to respond to any unexpected needs you may have. Harris is a paradise, and this cottage is right at its heart. 100% recommend!

Fantastic views over the Minch to enjoy from the hot tub. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival and has all the basics you require to enjoy your stay. The owner Hazel lives close by and was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return.

  • "Braemore Cottage was lovely, a well equipped and spacious cottage with amazing views."

The hot tub was great. Location very good, just outside Tarbert so a short drive after getting off the ferry. Please remember if arriving on a Saturday evening that there will be no grocery stores open until Monday. Luckily we managed to get a restaurant booked for dinner on the Sunday otherwise might have been a bit hungry! Would love to go back ,had a brilliant week and Hazel the host was happy to help with any queries.

  • "Wonderful New Year spent at Braemore Cottage, exploring both both Lewis and Harris."

The Cottage is perfectly located to go North and South, with breath-taking views over the Tarbert inlet, day after day we watched glorious sunsets from the hot tub, before heading in, lighting the fire, and enjoying some local gin. The cottage was perfect for us a family of 4, everything you need, beds very comfortable, and did I mention the hot tub! Hazel and Findley, the owners, stay locally, and are so welcoming and friendly. The island is a feast of amazing wildlife - stags, seals, otters, highland cows, eagles - its everywhere, not to mention the stunning beaches, walks, and food. The water is amazing, the air clean, zero pollution, zero stress, you feel so good spending time in his incredible corner of Scotland.

It is set in a stunning location with uninterrupted views across East Loch Tarbert from Kyles of Scalpay, from both the cottage and the adjoining private deck and huge hot tub! Just 10 minutes away from Tarbert, the situation is perfect for a peaceful base from which to tour all areas of Harris and Lewis. Especially in the knowledge of returning to this luxurious cottage at the end of your day out. On a couple of occasions we decided to stay home “chill out” and enjoy what Braemore Cottage has to offer. Thank you Hazel, Finlay and family for providing us with another most enjoyable summer holiday.
