  • "Allan's house is great."

This was our fifth stay. The games room is a great addition.

  • "This property is well maintained, equipped, cosy and spotless."

This is the second time we have stayed here. The owner is on hand should you need him, very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Nothing is too much bother. It si centrally located to explore the whole of the island group.

  • "It is well kitted out with everything you could possibly need and more!"

Everything provided. Plenty of space for a large party of people to have their own space, with sitting room, very large kitchen with sofa and provided a games room which is fab, books, music and board games for young and old if you're having a chill day in. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful inside and out. Great location for travelling to all the Islands. Full information provided which covered everything from how to use kitchen gadgets to recommendations of were to go and see. We had a great break and staying in a well appointed base made the difference, especially if you're busy and can come back to haven to relax. We would highly recommend and already booked to come back next year.

  • "We loved Airigh nam Fiadh!"

It's much larger than we anticipated. Lovely views from the house, private and clean. We enjoyed walking out the gate and around the lake spotting many new species of UK birds (we are from the USA). We were also lucky to have several ponies come by for a visit a couple of days. Allan was without doubt a superhost. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and holiday.

So well kitted out - there was everything you would need. Beds and sofas so comfortable, it's was so cosy and the place was spotless. The games room was brilliant too and was a great place to spend some time when the weather was bad. Its also so well situated to visit all parts of the Uists easily. Would 100% recommend this place and hope to come back again - didn't want to leave!!

  • "It’s absolutely huge so much space most bedrooms have large en suite bathrooms."

large kitchen diner which is great for family/groups of friends and large sitting room with great views over Loch and onto mountains. Large utility room as well. Pretty much every utensil one could want. We have been a couple of times before and because such high quality shows no signs of wear and tear. Allan takes huge pride in place and making sure everything is just right - one of our party had forgotten his wellingtons and Allan very kindly managed to find a pair for him on a Sunday. Would be hard pushed to find anything as good in South Uist to match it. All very comfortable tons of hot water and lots of eco power. Also have games room in garage. Good location for exploring North and South Uist. Co op just up the road in north uist for all day to day supplies.

  • "Simply brilliant, the location next to Loch Bi was nice and tranquil."

The house was really big, well equipped and catered for everyone. The kids loved riding their bikes round and round the house (no traffic to worry about), and seeing the sheep that kept visiting through the fence. The games room was an added bonus for which a few late night sessions were had. The location was ideal being fairly central with easy access across the islands. For those that can do without broadband, no issues as there is a fiber connection to the house. I would definitely stay again.

It was exactly as it looked online - beautiful! Stunning views, comfortable, spacious and had everything we could possibly need during our stay. The highlight for the kids was, of course the games room. We will be back!

  • "We spent a very enjoyable week at Airigh nam Faidh."

The property did not disappoint & more than lived up to our expectations. If anything, the online photographs do not do it full justice. The house is spacious, comfortable & has all that we could need from a holiday cottage in a beautiful, quiet location. Comprehensively equipped kitchen, large living areas, big bedrooms & generous bathrooms, & all spotlessly clean. Well placed to access all of the Uists we found this to be the perfect location. The owner was on hand if needed & was very friendly & helpful, & I am sure would have sorted any problems should we have had any. We didn't! 100% recommend this outstanding property for a wonderful holiday on South Uist. For sure, we will be back.

West Gerinish is an ideal base from which to visit North and South Uist, Benbecula, Eriskay, Barra and the wider Western Isles including St Kilda. The house is readily accessible from both Loch Maddy and Lochboisdale ferries. Energy is provided by on-site renewable sources. Allan is an unobtrusive but charming and helpful host who lives in the village so is usually on hand if needed. We have stayed at Airigh nam Fiadh too may times to recall and hope to continue to visit for many years to come. Thoroughly recommended. Karen and Steve
