With the capital town of the island, Portree, just 12 miles to the north and the second main centre of population, Broadford, just 13 miles to the south, you are never far from excellent shopping facilities.

Close by is a hotel, renowned locally for its high-quality cuisine and friendly small bar.

With this lovely Portree cottage being centrally located, you can travel south to the Sleat peninsula known as the garden of Skye and visit Armadale Castle or travel north up to Portree and tour the dramatic coastal road around the top of the island.

Skye is a big island, full of wonderful scenery, an abundance of wildlife and lots of history.

Whether you walk up the Cuillins, or languish on a quiet beach, you will love to return to the comfort of your Skye cottage at the end of a busy day.

Set round its natural harbour on the stunning and tranquil Isle of Skye, charming Portree boasts an excellent range of shops, hotels and restaurants. Cultural attractions are plentiful; the Aros Centre is well worth a visit with its programme of concerts, theatre and cinema. Sports enthusiasts are also well catered for, with sea kayaking, rock-climbing and a good choice of well-marked walks. The rock formations are particularly spectacular; Trotternish Ridge stretches for 31km of continuous cliffs, with many fantastic rock forms and pinnacles. Dunvegan Castle and the Talisker Distillery Visitor Centre are just two more reasons to visit this magical isle.
