  • "Absolutely loved this place , so peaceful and comfortable could sit and watch the view all day."

  • "We spent two weeks here and loved it."

Clean, comfortable and great views. The first big draw is the huge windows. You can sit and look south across the sea to Barra, or you can see west (spectacular sunsets), and north to the hills. It’s just a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach. We saw short eared owls several times from the house, and there is a lot of bird life on the small lochs nearby. The house was spotlessly clean and had a good kitchen with panoramic views. The wifi was excellent - we had no problem watching Netflix on our laptop. The South Uist beaches are stunning and go on for miles, and we had two excellent otter encounters. We visited Eriskay, Barra, Vatersay and finally made it to St Kilda! It was wonderful to have this house to come back to and we felt totally relaxed here.

  • "Absolutely top class property with everything required for a holiday in the beautiful Outer Hebrides."

Friendly and helpful host. Awesome views from every window in this well equipped house. The log burning stove and the jacuzzi bath added to the relaxed experience of staying here, and the beds were very comfortable. A fabulous base for touring the Uists. Highly recommended.

  • "Good location with amazing views to the sea, lots of space, very comfortable, very dog friendly and with a very friendly owner."

Can see short-eared owls from the house. The only asks would be to double the glassware and cutlery, provide some more basics eg. salt and pepper, dustpan brush, clothes washing powder and possibly add a bar to the fencing to ensure the dog doesn't sneak underneath at the back.

  • "It was a very comfortable, clean and well-equipped house."

Very comfortable arm chairs in the drawing room and plenty of literature on what to do locally, including hand annotated map of South Uist pointing out local sights worth visiting. A very nice personal touch. The blinds on the windows in the drawing rom were also very useful as we had strong sun all week and they were really necessary to keep the temperature down. Just one suggestion - some hooks in the bathrooms would help to hang things on. But overall, an excellent house.

  • "A very pleasant well equipped house with great views from the spacious lounge across to Barra."

Nicely situated being a short drive over the causeway to Eriskay and for touring the Uists. With a very well stocked late opening co-op less than 15 minutes drive away, plus the excellent community shop and the equally excellent pub of Whiskey Galore fame on Eriskay the location of Fuidaigh is ideal. Overall a great place to stay with a very helpful host.

  • "Stayed at this lovely, and spacious, house for a week."

Sadly, the weather was awful for virtually the whole week, but having a warm, comfy, and homely house to spend the time in, sort of made up for the weather! We made use of the log fire, which very quickly warmed the living room, and was lovely to cosy down to while the rain and wind lashed down outside. Very well equipped house, and Neil was the perfect host - the welcome gifts were very much appreciated. If we could guarantee the weather we would be back!!

  • "Just returned from a wonderful week with Neil at his cottage."

Very comfortable, warm , homely, super comfy beds great after a long day on the beach or walking. A two minute walk from the beach, great for dogs (enclosed garden), fantastic base for exploring the Uists, a 5 minute drive from Eriskay and the ferry to Barra. Neil is very welcoming and helpful, a wealth of local knowledge..and many thanks Neil for the lovely home made pancakes. We can't return soon enough!
