  • "We had the most amazing holiday,Eagle lodge was fantastic, everything we could of needed was there and the view's were amazing."

We had dinner at the UIg sands restaurant as a family member had a birthday it was very special indeed. We shall return.

  • "Fantastic house with magnificent views."

Well maintained and stocked. Norris and his wife were extremely helpful and friendly. Great area to visit especially for walking, wildlife, mountains and beaches.

  • "Amazing lodge with amazing views and outstanding hosts, Norrie and Muriel could not of done more for us if we asked."

We booked for 2 weeks in July whilst there for 3 weeks over Xmas and New Year. The Lodge would benefit from the following: a full size ironing board, smart TV’s in all bedrooms, upgrading the sky box in the main bedroom to a sky Q box and also adding a sky Q box in the downstairs bunk bedroom - this would alleviate the WiFi signal issue as this acts a a WiFi hotspot. Lastly upgrading the sky to a full sky package. Whilst these recommendations are a nice to have they are not essential as anyone who has or does stay at Eagle Lodge, I’m sure will agree, what a stunning lodge to stay at. Looking forward to our July break there. 5 stars from me

  • "Eagle Lodge is simply the best , helped in no small way by Location !"

Location! Location! Uig on the west coast of Lewis is majestic, breathtaking and hypnotic, especially viewed from the hot tub on the deck as the sun sets ! A group of family and friends-including young grandchildren-experienced the most enjoyable, idyllic and amazing fortnight in August 2023 that will long live in our memories ! We will return hopefully soon! The accommodation, facilities, and comfort of Eagle Lodge is of the highest quality and standard, and reflects in no small part, the warmth , welcome ,attention to detail, and professionalism evidenced to us by our hosts Norrie and Muriel throughout our stay! This is a not to be missed holiday property!

  • "This was our second stay at Eagle Lodge and it was just wonderful."

.. again. Norrie and Muriel are so welcoming and helpful. The house must have one of the best views over the bay of Uig and you can wander down to the sands in the evening. The house itself is spacious, comfortable, warm and fully equipped with everything you need for cooking. The jacuzzi is great - what a way to end your day, watching a sunset or seeing the first stars appear while you are in the tub. The place is also full of an amazing family history which encapsulates the history of the island. We will be back again next year for sure. The only negative note is that LHH don't provide a receipt / invoice anymore. This is worth noting as the house is perfect for groups, but not having the appropriate paperwork for accounts can be problematic for any professionals wishing to use the lodge. hopefully this will change in the future.

  • "The place was absolutely amazing, rare occasion where the photos didn't do it justice (and the photos made it look incredible) Muriel and Norrie were lovely hosts throughout and couldn't have been more helpful."

Only thing I would add is button to start the dishwasher was a little problematic but such a minor thing it made no difference to our stay, only mentioning as thought it would be useful to know and keep an eye on.

  • "We had a great time at Eagle Lodge, which was a great place to stay."

The facilities at the Lodge meant we didn't want to leave, but the stunning beauty of Lewis won out. Norrie, the owner of the Lodge was great and when we arrived he explained everything we needed to know. We all really enjoyed reading the handwritten account the family and how they had survived in Uig. The location is beautiful and sitting in the living area or in the hot tub looking out across the bay as the sun set was incredible. The place was well kitted out and Norrie had provided us with the basic in way of food to let us settle in plus leaving some welcomed treats. Thanks so much for a great stay. We will be back.

  • "We had an absolutely wonderful time at Eagle Lodge and all of our group were really happy with their stay."

Beautiful house, lovely welcoming gifts. The contact with Norrie and Muriel was great and we loved the history of the place. The house is warm spacious and comfortable with everything you need and more for cooking. The views over Uig bay are just splendid. We will organise another group stay there again next year at the same period if there is availability without bothering to look elsewhere - can’t give a better compliment than that.

  • "We had a truly amazing holiday on the island of Harris and Lewis ."

But this house really made our holiday superb. Everything about it is fabulous - lovely bedrooms with huge beds and space for lots of children too. The hot tub is situated to give a great view of the sands and the sunset. The sauna after a cold wet walk is perfect. And the kitchen and living space is so spacious and well stocked that you need not worry about anything the wood burning stove really warmed the place up on a particularly blustery night. We will be back I hope. Thank you so much to our hosts who were always very attentive.

Could not have asked for more. The sauna and hot tub were perfect after a day in the Scottish outdoors. The kitchen had everything we could ask for. The beds were so comfortable. It was all just too short.

When bedtime calls, make your way to one of the five opulent bedrooms where you can choose from one of two super-king-size bedroom, one with patio doors opening directly onto the decking area; the children’s bunk bedroom or head upstairs to the family suite where there is a master super-king-size bedroom and an additional twin bedroom.

To top it all off there is a simply fantastic family bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi spa bath, a walk-in shower for two and a sauna which seats up to six people; you can have your very own spa weekend from the comfort of your home!

Hard as will be to leave Eagle Lodge there is so much to see and do in the area it would be a shame not to get exploring.

Right on the doorstep are the mesmerising Uig Sands and there is a community shop, museum, seafood shack and restaurant all within walking distance.

Hop in the car for a scenic drive over to Stornoway where you can catch boats to Ullapool and Skye and really get to know the Hebrides.

If you want to get active then have a go at hill walking, rock climbing, kayaking and surfing or for some fun-filled days out from the lodge, Tarbert and Leverburgh aren’t more than a few hours in the car.

Offering a holiday to remember for a lifetime, a stay at Eagle Lodge awaits.

About the location

STORNOWAY

Arnol 14.5 miles; Callanish Stones 16 miles.

Stornoway is the only town in the Outer Hebrides and is a bustling and growing area with a busy working harbour, a great selection of shops selling local gifts including Harris Tweed, leisure facilities and wonderful award-winning restaurants selling locally sourced food of the highest quality. Lewis is a place where the lilting Gaelic language is spoken everywhere! Visitors to the town will find plenty to keep them occupied, the magnificent Lews Castle Grounds and the iconic Lews Castle, many good museums and art galleries and also a smart golf course and clubhouse. The large, quiet sandy beaches are close by and provide visitors with wonderful views and the town itself forms a great base for a holiday exploring the unique islands that form the Outer Hebrides. On the north west side of Lewis you can visit the village of Arnol with its Blackhouse Museum, an unmissable visit for anyone wanting to understand the way of life that was once widespread in Lewis. Carloway Broch is nearby and is another fascinating landmark and incredibly well preserved. The Callanish Stones from the Neolithic are also well worth visiting. The whalebone arch and numerous Iron Age dwellings on stunning Bosta beach make for great days out. The friendliness of the local people will astound visitors to the islands and you cannot fail to be impressed with the genteel and contented pace of life you will encounter here.
