"Loverly log fire when it rained!"
Very comfortable. Well equipped. Don’t get caught out at the local cooperative store. Prices high. We’re blue members of the cooperative and they wouldn’t accept membership prices . Had to be orange holders! So prices were exorbitant! Go to superstores if you can.

"Cannot fault the cleanliness of the cottage (more of a lodge than cottage)."
We incorrectly interpreted the fact there was a pub 2 minutes walk away which we were looking forward to visiting in the evenings. The pub turned out to be not a PUB but a bar within the spa complex which did not offer PUB food. There are no actual pubs within comfortable walking distance from this property. There is a restaurant with a bar in Hook village which was about 20 minutes walk, but not something to do at night as there are no street lights or pavements. I do think this needs to be made clear. Two features that were slightly frustrating was a very stiff tap on the bathroom sink which made a dreadful noise when using it. Also, the WiFi (which I believe the main router was in the neighbouring cottage), dropped off and would not reconnect, but not wishing to disturb the neighbours in their accommodation, put up with it.

"We can’t fault the owner speedy response to our queries but Sykes had a terrible costumer services line and we couldn’t even speak to someone about our booking which was disrupted by riots across the U."
K. The listing wasn’t accurate enough, we ended up bringing lots of stuff that we didn’t need and ended up being supplied in the cottage including hairdryer, hand wash and washing up liquid, sponge and kitchen towel. The internet was pretty bad too, although the owner responded quickly saying it will be fixed on the same day, we had terrible internet throughout our 4 days stay. The place was clean and quiet. It would have been great to have extra light sheets to use for covers as it was too hot to use the duvets. On the whole it was a pleasant stay.

"Really lovely well appointed cottage."
Has everything you need for a holiday. Location was perfect for us visiting the grandparents. Cottage was lovely and warm with the underfloor heating and log fire.
-
"This was our second stay at the Fox's Den it is a lovely property and we would definitely book again."
-
"We had a lovely week at Fox's Den which is very comfortable and in a peaceful and quiet location."
The onsite gym was very well equipped and everyone was very friendly. Handy for most of the places we wanted to visit too.
-
"The cottage was just beautiful."
Every time we returned from a day out it looked as lovely as when we first arrived. It was well equipped and we really appreciated the milk in the fridge when we arrived.
-
"Exquisite holiday home."
Clean, modern, comfy bed and bedding, soft towels and really well-equipped in the kitchen. Having known prior to arriving about the free access to the onsite gym, pool, tennis and squash was hugely appreciated during our stay due to all the rain we had over our 2 week stay. Located in between Southampton and Portsmouth the cottage was in an idyllic location that was very quiet. Only minor improvements would be to add to the already well- stocked utensils by adding a pizza cutter, an ice cream scoop and a whisk.

"Foxes Den was great."
Just perfect. Everything we needed. It is in such gorgeous surroundings and very quiet.
-
"Property was of a high standard."
Location good. Accessible to many places of interest. Will hopefully return.

"Lovely property with the benefit of leisure facilities, well located for days out."
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Fox’s Den."
The property was excellent. Well equipped and very clean. The space worked really well for our family of four and the location was central to travel to various places in the county.
-
"Being in the grounds of Abshot Hall we expected there to be some food/drink facilities in the grounds."
I guess the venue details did not say there would be, but it was an expectation. The accomodation was perfect, clean, modern, well equipped, very nice indeed. The leisure (gym) facilities were superb, one of the best gym's I have been to, especially on a holiday.
-
"Really enjoyed stay."
Lovely cottage, owner couldn't do enough to help including sending us our washing that we left in machine by mistake, thank you.
-
"A stylish, spacious and comfortable holiday cabin."
Some very nice unexpected touches that showed the owners care (cleaning products such as dishwasher tablets provided, the towels were particularly luxurious... could go on). Variety of places nearby to visit, including beach. Sports club very attentive in terms of giving us access. All in all, a great stay.
-
"Great location for Portsmouth & Southampton."
Great walks in the area (in particular the circular walk we did from Beaulieu to Buckler's Hard). Visits to Portchester Castle and Portsmouth Historic Dockyards are recommended.
-
"Lovely cottage nice and comfy , would have been good to have a larger tv in the sitting room."
local pub is about 0.5 miles away but you have to walk down the road ( no footpaths ) . Good position to explore the local area . Don’t go to the Jolly Farmer pub ! worst meal we have ever had . Lovely quiet location and good to be able to use the gym on site .
-
"Loved this place , everything good quality."
Excellent location to explore the area . Nice quiet setting , very peaceful, nowhere near a road .Staff at country club very helpful when we needed some medicines urgently delivered . Maybe upgrading the TV to a SMART TV at some stage would be useful.
-
"We found the bed rather uncomfortable - bit too soft and not enough back support."
Otherwise the whole place and position was perfect for us with good facilities for self catering needs.
-
"A lovely, well presented cottage, very clean."
Reception and local staff were very friendly. Had one minor problem with the internet which was quickly resolved. Couldn't fault the place at all. Will definitely be back
-
"We were nervous about taking a break in this post lock down Covid-19 time."
We had already had to cancel a previous holiday. But, we felt totally safe and sound at Fox’s Den. Arrival and departure details were clear and concise. The facilities were immaculate and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable and relaxing visit. Fox’s Den is beautifully situated to enjoy Hampshire’s lovely countryside.
-
"If you need a quiet place to unwind this is it."
A very peaceful setting, the only noise was from the tennis courts which was fine. Fox’s Den is very clean and comfortable. The only thing that we found was a problem was the intermittent wi-fi. But no worry we are on holiday! We ate at the Nook which is only a short stroll down the road and is excellent.
-
"Very comfortable stay."
Everything we needed. Decorated beautifully.

"A lovely holiday home but let down by a really uncomfortable bed."
Definitely needs a new mattress.
-
"The accommodation proved to be better than the photos shown in the Sykes listing."
The place was very clean, well presented and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and included items we don't often find in other accommodations, such as cling film and foil. The accommodation is in lovely surroundings and close to many attractions and seaside.
-
"Fox's Den was excellent in every respect."
Spotlessly clean, welcoming, very quiet and comfortable. Good staff and facilities at the spa. Would recommend to anyone wishing to stay there.
-
"This is a gorgeous modern cottage with lots of thought having gone into making it a real pleasure to stay in."
The decor is lovely- pale relaxing colours and the same theme throughout. Kathryn is very friendly and we will definitely be back in the future !
-
"Owners very friendly and quick to respond to a couple of concerns we raised."
Very surprised that there was no facility for recycling rubbish- or if there was we failed to find it. Cottage was well equipped with everything we needed - so good to have a full range of working utensils etc. The cottage gave us everything we needed for a short break.
-

Excellent cottage one suggestion- the shower pan was very slippery and could cause a fall to avoid an insurance claim a non slip mat should be provided
-
"We loved staying at Foxes Den - it was a very cozy and beautifully designed home away from home for a new year cycling break exploring the South Downs and New Forest."
The bonus of being able to use the facilities at the friendly country club was fantastic too. Big thank you!
-
"Wonderful cottage in nice area with Everything supplied."
Furnishings above expectations, small touches that meant a lot, including a Christmas tree
-
"Lovely cottage with a few more things than advertised."
Would certainly recommend Fox's Den for a relaxing break. One thing to remember for the swimming pool is no kids after 6.
-
"Fox's den is a beautiful cottage equipped with everything you need in the kitchen."
Plenty of space for my husband and I along with our baby son. It is in a beautiful part of the country with lots of places to visit near by. Use of the country club makes it even better. We will definitely be back.
-
"We were very comfortable and cottage had everything we needed."
Quiet location but still near every thing. Would definitely go back.
-
"The cottage we stayed was lovely no doubt but they need net curtains for privacy because there is no privacy and the water tanks is too small for the bath and I am 5ft 2 woman."
-
"For a two person cottage it was very well laid out and spacious."
It is beautifully furnished. We will certainly be staying there again.
-
"The cottage was in lovely condition and fairly spacious."
It was very warm and we struggled to keep it cool, even turning the thermostat right down. We also found the hot water in the shower ran out quite quickly - there wasn’t enough for two showers in a row. Other than that we thought it was ideal. The honesty tuck box was a lovely touch! We didn’t use the gym but did use the pool. It’s fair to say it’s a little tired, but was fine for a few lengths and a quick sauna! Although there’s not much to do in the immediate vicinity, there’s quick access to Portsmouth, Southampton and the New Forest, as well as Bournemouth and Winchester a little further afield.
-
"The accommodation was extremely clean, well equipped, modern and in a lovely location."
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
-
"Excellent accomodation, the use of the Country Club facilities a fabulous bonus."
