  • "Unfortunately, not a very impressive stay at Amethyst Lodge."

Firstly, unable to access the lodge for well over an hour of arrival only to find that we had been given the wrong key code. Just acquired the correct key code within minutes of Sykes office closure for the day. About to go home again!! Also, bedding was very substandard and in poor condition. Much dust and cobwebs around the lodge which we had to clean. Kitchen utensils poorly equipped and cooking trays etc very dirty indeed. Overall, we would not return there due to the above.

Close to Lymington and its leisure centre which you can join for the duration of your stay. Very spacious accomodation ample room for 6. Welcome book v helpful particularly recommendations for beaches. Outside space good as relaxation area. Just a few gripes which for me if rectified would have changed my review from v good to excellent Cooker not v clean no toilet paper in property on arrival. All in all would defo recommend and thank you for allowing me to stay.

Several blinds broken Boiler door stuck, and no thermostat for heating Shower head blocked with limescale No instructions for smart TV,sound bar.No BBC or ITV. SKY TV ? No instructions for microwave Overall not good value.

Hi There, Really shocked to see this review, sorry you felt the lodge wasn’t very good value. I have never had a complaint on having a thermostat before as it’s in the boiler cupboard in there and works really well. You mention the door there so ill be looking into that. instructions for the microwave i dont normally leave. The TV works fine, i have a sky box installed and all channels are in working order after being there last week to my knowledge & to not be able to use the TV. Sorry you struggled to work this if got in touch with sykes i could of possibly helped with instruction during your stay with them getting in contact with me to have resolved quickly. Its the first im hearing of broken blinds - if you are talking of the one in the main bedroom its not broken its one that rolls up and down. i will look into it this week and with regards to the front door so thank you for making me aware. Sorry this had such a negative impact on your stay and you didnt enjoy the lodge that i try to make welcoming and comfortable for guests. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely fantastic lodge, clean and tidy and very welcoming, the only tiny issue we found was the TV channels, we didn't seem to be able to get the main channels up,it kept saying no ariel connection."

But a miniscule inconvenience. The site is nice and quite and very well maintained as is the lodge, everything is there to welcome you on arrival including treats for your dogs. All in all top drawer.

Thank you Mr Beard for your positive review and glad you enjoyed the lodge. I really appreciate the feedback and like to make comfortable for guests. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay at the lodge it was lovely and clean and comfortable."

However having stayed at shorefield previously we felt a bit disappointed about the location. The listing for the lodge makes it appear to be near to the fishing pond but in actual fact is isolated from the main facilities. We had to get in the car to be able to get to the pond, swimming pool etc. as we have 2 small children and didn’t like the idea of walking along the busy road especially in the dark.

Hey there, Thank you so much for your feedback that you enjoyed our lodge and had a comfortable stay we really appreciate it. And glad you had a nice time. Regarding the location it does state on the lodge description we are on quiet part of the park in a quiet area and that there is a country lane to get to the main facilities you can drive if not comfortable with walking in the notes on the description, it doesn't mention it is next to the pond area so feel a bit let down on the negative review of accuracy of listing . • "The lodge was comfortable and furnished to a high standard."

However, the cooker and oven - which thankfully we didn’t intend to use anyway - were filthy and the smell of grease dominated the whole living area. Our coats - which hung on the coat stand - still stink of it and will have to be washed. I think this emanated from the cooker hood because the filter needed to be changed. This somewhat spoiled our experience of the lodge which is a pity as it could have been so easily resolved. The kitchen cupboard housing food - with none of the items stipulated on the information pack - was also filthy. Everything else was perfect.

  • "Lodge out of way and no real footpaths on main road."

Cleanliness was okay but could be improved. Front door sticking as it has dropped on hinges. It was good that you could use the site facilities next door. We have stayed in better lodges for less.

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback, Im sorry to hear that you didnt have any positives about your stay in our lodge on your feedback. Lots of previous guests have loved the quiet secluded plot and quietness of the area and find it very relaxing sorry you didnt feel this during your stay. It does state in the description the facilities are just down the country lane and driving is advised if not comfortable walking. (Regarding the direct access) It is on its private area. Will be addressing your cleaning comment to our cleaner for feedback as to where some areas can be improved for the future. This is also the first i have heard about the front door sticking so thank you for making me aware of this so it can be looked at. Have a great day Property Owner

  • "Lovely quiet, friendly site."

Property comfortable and clean and in great location for coast and New Forest. Probably due to being later in season the kitchen lacked some items e.g only 5 table knives and no bread knife. Although adequate warning was given, we did find the road walking a problem when we had our family and young grandchildren visit who were staying at Shorefield.

  • "Just had a week away, it was very pleasant."

Cannot fault the lodge, it was well kept, and comfortable. The park was tranquil and nice to be away from the main park. The dog treat packs were a lovely touch. Only have 2 comments, one was if you wanted to use the facilities in the main park, you had to walk down a country road which was very, very busy, and scary with children. We only did that once, we drove there the rest which is only ok if one of the adults doesnt want to enjoy a drink. The lodge had carpet, which is a lovely comfort but when its been chucking down with rain and you need to take dogs for a toilet, it does make you paranoid about mess. We are very conscious and clean but it did take incredible effort to maintain the fresh smell and look. So it could be a little more dog friendly with hard flooring throughout. Luckily both our do not have long coats. All in all it was a lovely break and lovely lodge.

Hi Mrs A Thank you for your feedback :) we are really happy you enjoyed the lodge and had a great break away, the area we agree its so peaceful and relaxing away from the main park. It does state in the description of the lodge that there is a country road to walk down as part of the booking if wanting to use the Shorefield facilities or taking walks with the dogs, beach or country pubs, driving is advised but if walking off the park area to take extra care as that is beyond our control due to the nature of the country roads in the new forest area. Thank you for your efforts in maintaining the lodge with the weather. Kind regards Francesca Property Owner

  • "The owners were kind enough to let us stay for a short break in between letting dates."

The site is has just 11 lodges and is separate from the main Shorefield Holiday park which is about 100 yards down the road, which we loved as it quiet and peaceful. The owners kindly forwarded holiday park passes for us, so we could enjoy all the facilities there. The lodge itself has everything you need including a gas bbq and nice outdoor furniture. The area is not far from beaches, restaurants and town centres which is great for the kids. We would definitely recommend staying here and on the one occasion we had to speak to the owner (Francesca) regarding our poorly dog, she was very caring and concerned.

  • "The accommodation is fine."

The main issue is that the plot in which the property is located has not direct access to main facilities. There is no path or sidewalk and even if it is not far the access by walk by the road is really dangerous. You need to go to main facilities by car.

Fridge lots of water Cupboards still had lots of food left in them

Hi thank you for your feedback, The fridge had lots of water in it because unfortunately the fridge/freezer had been unplugged or switched off the cleanser reported afterwards. So no fault with it. We had left sauces and bits for other guests to use to save them buying and normally a bottle of prosecco is put in the fridge for our guests as a gift from us but since this feedback we have now kept the cupboards clear at all times with just salt and pepper so that its clear. Acting on the feedback positively. Blinds have been actioned to be replaced, apologies for that. Property Owner
