  • "The lodge is very nice, it was very clean and comfortable and we really did enjoy our stay there and we would return."

The directions are very poor, needs to be more specific we arrived from Lymington but the directions did not get us there. It needs to be more clear about the restrictions on the park and you are not attached to the main one, it’s very clear when you arrive and laid out in a folder, this would have been useful advice when booking. This did not affect our holiday as we like the quiet nature of the retreat, but feel others maybe not happy, it needs to be clear when booking. The fridge and cupboards were all full of left over items, which meant we had no where to store our things. It felt like we were sharing with other people, rather than this was our home for the week. We catered for the whole week of food and had to leave items on the side as there was no space cupboards. The maintenance team were excellent, we had a problem with hot water, nothing anybody could have foreseen, this was fixed within half an hour with the most excellent customer service. The lodge is lovely as said at the beginning, the area is lovely, we only traveled half an hour a day, sometimes less to visit some excellent places. We had a fantastic holiday, the little bits would have made it superb.

  • "An amazing accommodation with fantastic features."

My only negative comment would be the lack of parking with only 1 parking space available for a 6 berth accommodation simply not enough. I needed to park my vehicle over 1/4 of a mile away. Resort was good with a great restaurant and site shop.

  • "The holiday lodge was nice to look at, and had lots of bits and pieces for us to use and well equipped !"

However the main bed was awful it was like a brick, no spring to it or softness, I had to sleep in same room as my mum as the single beds were better! There was also a terrible smell of cat pee in the main bedroom on suite! Don’t know if it was coming from the shower? Was there the whole time! The recliner seats were a nice touch also and very comfortable! Only other issue was that the lodge was not on the main campsite, which we did not know? So didn’t feel like we was on a campsite, and was awkward to walk in the rd with disabled guests, so we didn’t use the facilities much at all! The area was lovely though and we had some nice days out

  • "We had a great holiday in this Very nice lodge and would consider booking again for future holidays."

The only comment We would like to make is that there was no broom, dustpan and brush and no working vacuum cleaner. Obviously we don't go on holiday just to do " house work " but we do do like to clear up crumbs etc of the kitchen floor when needed and of course a quick spruce up before we leave . Lovely accommodation and a location that we will stay at again !

  • "Seahorse lodge was very new clean and comfortable and we had a great stay."

Milford on sea is a beautiful place to visit and recommended. The site is separate from the main Shorefield site and has its own entrance which we weren't aware of. The site was better geared to families with older children or groups with no children who want quiet. There wasn't really anywhere for children to play out and if you want to use the Shorefield facilities you need to buy a pass. The surrounding roads aren't safe to walk along and the woodland walk to the sea was.no accessible from our site which was a shame I would recommend Seahorse lodge and we had a lovely stay but a car was needed everytime we wanted to go out.

  • "Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodation and had an enjoyable week."

Just a few minor issues: 1. The instructions to open the main gate could have been a bit more detailed as we spent a few minutes working out how to use the fob. 2. The cupboard in one of the twin bedrooms was full of spare bedding so there was no room to hang any clothes. 3. There was no recycling bin in the lodge. 4. Not an issue with the accommodation, but we were disappointed to find out that we had to pay for a pass just to use the on-site restaurant (we didn't want to use any of the other facilities). Is this something that can be taken up with the site authorities? 5. Sykes advertises two lodges on the site: Seahorse Lodge and Amethyst Lodge. In relation to Amethyst Lodge, there is a note about the site facilities being 5 minutes walk away and that driving is not advised. It probably wouldn't have made much difference, but we chose Seahorse as this note wasn't included in the accommodation details and we assumed this didn't apply to Seahorse. Perhaps Sykes could be consistent in their information on this. 6. Also in relation to Amethyst, there is a note about on-site passes being available at half price. Does this also apply to Seahorse?

  • "The location of the lodge was pleasantly quiet."

The lodge its self was a good standard. However, the presentation, soft furnishings, towels etc were very basic, not what we would expect. On arrival there were cleaning clothes dumped on the decking. The crockery and cutlery were a random selection and the some of the mugs, plates and bowls were chipped and tea stained. There were no hand towels, no basic hand wash, no toilet brush in the main bathroom, no waste bin in the en-suite. In the en-suite shower room there was a shower chair which had to be move out to have a shower making it very awkward. There was a washing machine but no ironing board or iron. Your instructions are very specific about not leaving items in the cupboards but there were all manner of things including medications such as paracetamol etc in the kitchen cupboard, ice pops in the freezer. Item's belonging to previous renters or the owners in the main bathroom cupboard. It felt like a very amateur operation. When you pay for holiday accommodation, I think you should feel you are the first people to use it, not that you are gate crashing someone else’s holiday home.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. We take onboard all feedback positive and negative to give our holiday makers the best experience. The lodge is frequently used by our regular holiday makers and sometimes items have been left behind. We will make sure these are cleared away by our cleaning team. We have taken guidance from the park as to what items should be provided. Hand towels are provided in the bedroom cupboard for clients that require them, most of our holiday makers prefer to bring their own towels. Toilet brushes and bins in toilets are not provided for hygiene reasons. So far we haven't received any requests for an ironing board but now this has been brought to our attention, we will look to include one. Property Owner
