"As soon as we arrived we noticed the beds weren't as they were advertised on the listing."
They were both set up as twins, where we needed doubled due to my elderly mother not being able to sleep in a single bed. You aren't able to contact the owner directly, so it all had to go via the sykes customer support line. The owner got back to them saying it was too much effort to go and change the beds to how they were meant to be and they weren't prepared to do it. The house itself has very little character and feels really empty. The garden is overrun and clearly the owner is just using it to make money. The crockery and glasses were chipped and cracked. It is a very basic house. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either.
We do apologise that you were inconvenienced, we have always had the default as singles and Sykes have now amended the advert to that bed layout, we are also checking the source of that previous advert error at the moment. We would have helped in an emergency if we could but as we were not aware of the issue until arrival day it was impossible to be able to accommodate your request to change the bed layout style/obtain appropriate bedding at that point and Sykes did offer to reimburse you for any necessary bedding purchase. - We do fully appreciate that this advert error was not of your making but unfortunately we could not change the layout/provide appropriate bedding by that point. I did explain that with any twin beds guests can always just be pushed together. We have asked Sykes moving forward to remove mention of the ziplink feature completely so that that the bed layout is clearly stated only as as 2 x twin and a single from now on, which is what the advert layout should have said previously. We are also looking at sourcing a gardener, apologies if this was a little overgrown due to the recent excessive rainy weather at this time of year. We will of course have the crockery and glasses checked and replenish as required. Property Owner

"We had a very nice week."
Unfortunately there were a few things that could make it better. The curtains were hanging off of the tracks. The blind in the front bedroom was broken and slats are missing. You say you will get these things done but I have been looking at reviews from some months ago and the window in the bedroom is STILL cracked and hasn’t been replaced. Also the dirty laundry from the previous week was still by the front door and didn’t get picked up until Wednesday. Apart from these small issues we did have a good week.
Thank you for your comments, we have repaired anything that needed remedial action, the blind had just had a slat displaced so we have put that slat back into position. The window does have a crack but is safe, we are needing to source another contractor which may take some time but in the interim we would like to reassure guests that the window itself is safe. Apologies regarding the laundry, we usually get great cleanliness scores and we apologise that on this occasion some laundry was left behind, if Sykes had known at the time they would have contacted us and we would have arranged that to be sorted straightaway for you -we will speak to the cleaners to ensure this doesn't happen again. Thank you again for your feedback, we are glad that despite these regrettable oversights you still had an enjoyable time and thank you for the top comfort and cleanliness score as our cleaners do work very hard to ensure the property is very clean. "The property is in excellent condition with a new kitchen , carpets etc and is freshly decorated."
off street parking was handy. The property location is within a short distance to Hayling Island for beach and a funfair for children. It is possible to walk to the sea/ estuary in a short period using a disused railway line.

"The house was nice but the window that someone had said was broken in October still wasn't fixed."
We felt it needed a few little extras as there was no oven gloves or baking trays for the oven. The bedrooms were very light in the mornings and could do with some darker curtains and although there was a garden at the back of the house it was not very well maintained. The house was very clean though and the beds were comfy.
Thank you for the top cleanliness score. Apologies if the oven gloves had gone astray, there is usually a pair at the property and we will check that they have been replaced, thank you for letting us know and also for your thoughts about curtains. We will check the garden area, thank you for letting us know. The window is cracked but we can reassure guests that while it may take some time to secure a new contractor to look at that, the window is completely safe in the interim and we are glad that you did find the property to be comfy, including the beds. "Very clean and comfortable and perfect for us, visiting friends and family in the area and close to all amenities."
A problem we had on arrival was quickly dealt with by Sykes and the property owner. Thank you. There was a broken window, info.of which we passed to Sykes, outside pane of a double glazed unit. It was no problem for us but could perhaps pose a hazard in the future.

It was spacious, clean and had everything that we needed for an enjoyable short break. The issues that we encountered on arrival were dealt with quickly and efficiently by Sykes and the property owner. The property is in a lovely area and handy for walking to nearby shops, restaurants public transport. It's also handy for visiting surrounding towns and we visited The Isle of Wight too if we were staying in the area again I would definitely rebook this property.
