  • "I am partly dissabled so my comments are based on this."

    1. I had to park next to the property because of my health problems but found it difficult to do so. 2. The property has a massive, huge, Acorn tree over it, and the acorns were dropping onto the roof every night which kept me awake. 3. The seating was tidy and clean, but not very comfortable at all, there was not one comfortable chair in there. 4. The heating was not very high , as most of the week it was very cold and could'nt work out how to adjust it. 5. I feel that Sykes have not explained the surrounding area enough, Because it was so hilly, I had a job to get about, so did'nt walk anywhere. I don't think its catered for the elderly enough. I left a day early as did'nt want another cold night. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I understand that your recent experience may not have met your expectations, and I want to assure you that we value your comments and take them seriously. While we strive to make our property comfortable for all guests, it's important to note that our caravan is not advertised as a fully accessible or disability-adapted accommodation. We recommend that guests with specific accessibility needs verify the property's amenities in advance to ensure a suitable experience. We apologize if this information was not clear enough before your booking. Regarding the acorn tree, we understand your concern and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. Unfortunately, since a third party manages the park grounds, we do not have control over certain aspects, like tree maintenance. However, we will pass your feedback to the park management. As for the caravan itself, we aim to provide a comfortable and pleasant stay but acknowledge that it may not have all the luxuries of a high-end hotel. We strive to offer a cosy, home-like environment, and we appreciate your understanding. We have provided instructions for operating the heating system in the welcome pack, but we understand that this may not always be straightforward. We apologize if you experienced any difficulties and will work to make the instructions more straightforward for future guests. We appreciate your understanding that, as the booking platform, Sykes facilitates the reservation process but does not directly manage the property. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the property details before booking, particularly if they have specific health or accessibility needs. Lastly, while many elderly guests enjoy staying with us, we understand that every guest's experience is unique. We value your feedback and will use it to identify areas where we can improve our service. Thank you once again for bringing these matters to our attention. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide a more satisfying experience in the future. Property Owner

  • "The caravan was nice with most necessary equipment we could need."

However, there was a mm problem with the TV having a very poor or no signal. We couldn't really watch it at all. I contacted the named contacts on the list but 2 phones were engaged and the one I did get through to was an answering service. I left details and my phone number but got no response at all. We managed without the TV but as it's listed, should have been useable. The site was lovely, with plenty to do and nice coastal walks with the dog.

  • "The parkdean resort was amazing."

The location, facilities and entertainment were great for a family holiday. We ate on site a couple of time and used the passes to access the pool and clubhouse I. The evening and both adults and children enjoyed it thoroughly. However, the caravan was not uo to the same standard as we expected from such a great site. The interior was dated, there were lots of unnecessary items in the caravan that couldn't be used such as lamps situated where there were no plug sockets. There was a lack of plug in general which meant that you couldn't watch TV at the same time as having a lamp on. The kitchen was very basic. The grill wouldn't stay on and to use it, you would have to keep the gas knob pressed in. There was only one shelf in the oven, which meant that cooking for 5 people was tricky. From staying in other caravans there seemed a lack of storage space in bedrooms. We also couldn't seem to find any instructions on how the heating worked. When we arrived the shower was on and the bathroom floor was flooded, I believe there had been a problem with the water on site before we arrived so assumed that when the cleaners were in they forgot to turn off the shower. The light switch in the bathroom was also too short. This meant that 2 of the 3 children couldn't use the bathroom at night as they couldn't reach the pull cord. It was also very hard to shut the double bedroom door, which meant waking the children up eheb the adults went to bed. I think it would also be worth mentioning that, as you are surrounded by established trees that it is quite a common noise to hear acorns falling onto the roof. This wasn't a problem but 2 of the children were a bit scared of the noise on the first night.

  • "During our stay there was a major problem with the boiler leaving us without heating or hot water for quite a long time."

The owner did eventually get an engineer out to look at it but not until Thursday morning, we’d been there since Monday. There was also an issue that there was no information pack in the caravan so we had no way of knowing who to contact. There was an ‘owner’ number on the app but this number took you to the cleaner who was very surprised to hear that her number was being given out!! There was also an issue that the kitchen sink didn’t have either a plug or a washing up bowl so we had to go out and buy one before we could do any washing up!! Once these issues had been sorted the caravan was quite comfortable and was in a good position to explore the Island.

Dear Guest First of all, please accept our sincere apology for the boiler issue. We usually tell our Cleaning Company to turn the boiler on a timer a day before the guest's check-in, which they did, at the time they turned the boiler on it was working. But unfortunately, after you checked in the issue occurred. The boiler issue is beyond our control however we have resolved the matter as soon as we could, all that has now been sorted and we have internet in our caravan. Regarding the information pack, there was one in the drawer with instructions and emergency contact. However, we have put one in a frame in the living room which is now more visible to our guests. Once again please accept our apologies, and I hope you come back to Isle of Wight and enjoy our caravan. Property Owner

NORTHWOOD, ISLE OF WIGHT

Cowes 2 miles.

The friendly little community of Northwood is found on the southern boundary of Cowes, at the northern end of the Isle of Wight. The centre of the quaint town of Cowes, probably best known for its sailing heritage, is just 2 miles away. Home of the Royal Yacht Squadron and host to the world famous 'Cowes Week' each summer, Cowes offers visitors a good selection of shops and restaurants, and from there you can also take one of the regular scenic boat trips on offer, or head across the floating bridge to East Cowes, where a visit to Queen Victoria's splendid summer villa at Osborne House is a must. Alternatively, take a walk along the coastal path to the beach at nearby Gurnard or Thorness Bay. This area provides a superb base from which to explore the many delights this wonderful island has to offer, including Godshill, Carisbrooke Castle and The Needles.
