  • "Stayed here before so I knew what to expect."

It is a very small accommodation but great for sometime who doesn't need a lot of space. Lack of hanging storage is inconvenient but inevitable as they're is nowhere to put it so lived out of the suitcase. Bathroom is great especially the shower. Very clean and tidy throughout. The boiler failed so lost heating and hot water but managed to fix it myself. The system needed filling which is perhaps something that could have been picked up prior to arrival. Entryphone system feels safe and secure and the garden area is a nice bonus.

  • "Lovely stay at the Hamilton Studio."

My only gripes are the lack of privacy on the windows in the bathroom and no hanging rail for clothes.

  • "Location excellent."

Number outside Key Box not visible enough. Bed was comfortable. Hanging space wou ld be ideal. Seating too high and shallow to be comfortable. Kitchen would benefit extra shelving at side of cupboard on sink wall. Lovely shower. But basin to big gave shortage of space to dry after showering. Blind at window to give privacy. Also a shower shelf in cubicle. Would benefit from Secondary double glazing in lounge due to draft from window Perhaps update sockets with USB ports. Overall enjoyed our stay and would return despite knowing what we know.

  • "The accommodation was very nice although the photos make it seem bigger."

That said everything needed was supplied. My only issue was the window. It overlooked a small seating area that was in frequent use by others. Without a net the only other means of privacy was the blackout blind. If a net or similar was in place it would be perfect

  • "The Apartment appeared to look bigger in the listing than it actually was the Lounge/Bedroom looked about 13 foot square and in that space was a Double Bed with a bunk above it."

A Corner Bench seat big enough for two people to sit on which was most uncomfortable the cushions were not thick enough it was too high off the ground and the back rest was too far forward and gave me backache. There was a Drop leaf table and two chairs. There wasn't a wardrobe or clothes rail to hang your clothes your clothes had to either stay in your suitcase or fold them and put them inside the drawers of the bed base. The apartment lacked a oomphy chair to sit in. Both the Kitchen and Shower room were modern, adequate and of a decent size for a single person. Will not be returning.

  • "Property was smaller than expected but cosy."

The studio had everything needed for a stay away from home & very clean, because so compact, there was no where to put clothing apart from drawers under bed which wasn’t great for my dresses. No window covering/blind in shower room.

  • "We were surprised to see how small the apartment was, I am 74 years old so the type of bed and getting on and off was difficult when you sleep next to the wall, the seats provided are as good as useless unless you are in your 30's, the wash basin in the bathroom, I appreciate its done to represent the period of the property but its so large when you are not too good on your feet there is not enough room left to dry and dress, the shower with no place to put soap or shampoo makes life difficult."

The parking space for #5 is under the tree, seagulls or pigeons love to sit there and their deposits cover the front of the car, what a mess! This is intended to be constructive criticism please see it as such, small changes would make a difference.

Oh dear, I am terribly sorry that your didn't enjoy your stay. I have tried to make it clear with having lots of pictures on the outlay and of what the bed looks like so I didn't think that there would be a surprise that the bed is attached to the wall or what the bathroom looks like. Many guests have mentioned the bed set-up and bathroom as wonderful features but I do receive your message that it wasn't for yourself. I'm really saddened to hear that you would have desired a different stay. Hope you enjoyed how close the studio was to the town and the beach with the wonderful walks, and the garden area with a cup of tea. Best wishes from us. Property Owner

  • "Super little studio that’s well located in Ryde."

Nice bathroom and kitchen and perfectly serviceable living/ bedroom. But note this is a studio so not a huge amount of space. Positives - plenty of parking, nice little garden space (although overlooked directly by flat below which can be a bit awkward), lovely shower. Pet friendly which oddly seems harder to find than you’d think on the aisle of Wight! On the downside - can hear neighbours on stairs, closing doors, and flushing loo :-(, built in beds dominate the lounge space so not much in the way of storage, quite warm so have to have windows open which can make it a bit noisy. However for a quick weekend away with the dog, where you just need somewhere to sleep this is great!

Thank you so much for writing a review. It is a compact studio, but so nice that the kitchen is separate and there is a hallway with a door to it too. I've stayed in it myself with family and never heard noise, the window towards the garden space doesn't have any roads nearby and generally quiet area. But your stay was during the jubilee, I suppose every garden in England was a bit noisy and it may have carried through, it was a lovely, fun weekend. Thank you so much for your stay, and hope you come back soon. Property Owner

Two improvements would be the addition of a microwave and firmer mattress and pillows

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review. Based on your suggestions we have now updated the Hamilton Studio with a double mattress from Premier Inn Hypnos mattress, with a thousand pocket springs supporting a pillow top mattress and firmer pillows. Also we have put in a microwave. Hope you come again and try it all out, it would be lovely. Great to hear that you had a lovely holiday. Property Owner

  • "Very lovely place to stay."

There’s everything that you need. Only 2 things that I’d say: *It needs a microwave. *The mattress could be a lot better as the mattress available is quite thin and only for a short stay but we stayed for a week. Other than that great location and you get left alone. We’d definitely go back.

Thanks so much for staying in our Hamilton Studio. We have taken onboard what you are suggestions and now put in both a microwave and new mattress. I went big on the mattress and got a double mattress from Premier Inn; the Hypnos mattress, with a thousand pocket springs supporting a pillow top mattress. Also we have put in a microwave. Hope you come again! It was a long waiting time for the mattress, but now it's here and in the right place. Property Owner

There were just two of us staying which was fine but think it would be quite a squeeze for three to share. The kitchen has adequate equipment but if you are a keen cook bring more pans and dishes. There is no microwave as another review mentions. Spotlessly clean and found the bed very comfortable.

  • "Here are the pros and cons we found."

Pros: Excellent location; Clean; Well decorated; Well maintained; Good local information provided in the flat; Off street parking. Cons: Mattresses very uncomfortable, thin and giving no support; Very small bathroom; No microwave in kitchen; L-shaped seating area extremely uncomfortable, very high and no good for watching TV; Incorrect address given in email sent by Sykes, told us it was 25 when it is actually 24, resulting in us parking on the next door neighbour's drive! Instructions for retrieving key not very clear, didn't state that each flat had a different keysafe, and that there were numbers almost on the ground corresponding to each flat; Only a tiny mirror, no full length mirror.

  • "Hamilton Lodge was very well appointed."

It was compact but there was enough space for a short break. Useful to have a hair dryer in the bathroom. Tea and coffee was provided bur a pint of milk would have been great. The Roman Blind came off the mechanism the first morning, it’s really too long and heavy for the short pull. Only at that point did I notice a note saying be careful high on the window. I was careful and even stood on the chair to reach it easier. The only other slight gripe was that the shower cubicle got slippy when wet and would benefit from a non slip mat. There was plenty of leaflets to give ideas for days out. We had a lovely week and would definitely return.

It was everything it said on the package. 5 minutes to the shops, beach, bus station, train station.Doctors & Chemist. It is compact & bijou for two adults & one child that is old enough to sleep in a top bunk. Which is a magnificent spectacular man made very safe in deed, that any child would have great fun sleeping on it.The oven works great. The shower you will not want to get out of. With it being on the back of the building you look out on to a small gravelled court yard. I think the big advantage being it is very very quiet & peaceful.Which we preferred. we would definitely recommend this set to any one. Rosalyn,David & Poppy our Toy Poodle.

Bed is a thin foam pad on a solid wood base and the kitchen under the stairs is just big enough for one to stand. If you can get through the silly folding door the shower is very good and the toilet is the most comfortable seat in the house.
