  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the Goodwood lodge."

We have stayed before and rebooked for a stay over the summer holidays. My children loved the lodge with it being spacious and all the games available. They especially enjoyed playing bat and ball over the net outside the lodge and creating their own fort in the bedroom. They also enjoyed playing in the outdoor playground on site, going to the arcades and I enjoyed having a drink at the clubhouse during the day (if you head to the clubhouse after their evening entertainment starts at 6pm you have to pay to enter, but can enter for free before this). The lodge is well equipped with everything you could need and was clean upon arrival. We were able to order a takeaway who delivered to the holiday park and we also made use of the outdoor BBQ available. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and the sign welcoming us to the lodge is a nice touch.

  • "We had a really good stay at the Goodwood Lodge."

The lodge was spacious and really well equipped for children with lots of different games. The owner was also very accommodating when we wished to change guests for which we're very grateful. So all in all a great week!

  • "Had a lovely stay at this lodge from 21st to 28th July."

It truly was a "games" lodge. My youngest grandson was in seventh heaven! Lol Very spacious and comfortable lodge with every amenity. Twin beds throughout were very comfortable. Utility area where you enter the lodge was useful and there was a small ensuite in the main bedroom which was a god send for us grandparents...lol TVs in two of the bedrooms and an extra one in the lounge for the XBox. Just a slight concern that none of these three TVs were actually fixed to the wall/desk, but just propped up. Also the majority of the lodge was clean, but there were a few areas where it could have been a bit cleaner (dust on some of the shelves/back of the bed, and on the base of the shower). On the whole though a very nice, spacious lodge where we had a great holiday. Owner lives next door and was very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Be aware that this lodge is not part of the Park Holidays site that it is on and we had to pay extra for use of the facilities (which was £100 for the 6 of us and that was only because the lady at reception did us a deal!).

  • "The caravan is great in terms of facilities and little extras (including a lovely sign, bottle of bubbly, chocolate, flowers and crackers when we arrived)."

The bedrooms and bathrooms are good and the main area a good size with lots to do (board games, table tennis, big internet TV etc.). Anything we needed we could find. The main downside is that it could be cleaner. The caravan is quite modern but is let down by things like hair in the bath, mirrors splattered and the floor needing a good hoover. There is a hoover there but it doesn't work very well. This is the main reason I wouldn't totally recommend others to stay there. There are also some DIY fixings which are a bit wobbly (e.g. we had to take one bedroom TV off the wall and rest on a firm surface instead). The other issue was that some of the key facilities we were excited about weren't available. The clubhouse and pool were closed for refurbishment which we weren't informed about. The host was very apologetic about this and gave us some cash as a refund. But this meant entertaining 4 teens without this variety that we'd expected. And I'd asked for the pool table to be set up in the main living area which it wasn't. One of the teens and I put this together which took about 2 hours (gave us something to do). We could then convert it into a full size table tennis table after 2 days. The hosts were friendly and accommodating (they live next door). So in terms of practicalities, facilities and comfort I'd say this is a great place to stay and base yourself. Once the main park facilities are open this would be even better of course. Just a bit more time on the cleaning so it didn't feel ever so slightly grimy would make this a really excellent place to stay.

Hello Jonathan You are very correct about that - apologies. I must have telepathically thought about it and thought I'd typed it. Thank you Ruth Property Owner

  • "We had a delightful stay in a spacious, comfortable lodge."

Although we did not use the site facilities, the site was well-maintained and ideally situated to a number of visitor attractions - Chichester, Uppark, Petworth, Arundel, Weald & Downland Museum, etc. The lodge owner lives next door, and made himself known to us, but did not intrude in anyway, although clearly available if we encountered any problems - which we didn't. Would definitely recommend this property.

  • "Let’s just say it’s the first holiday we have ever been on and we have had to clean the place before unpacking, the owner said oh I’ve not had time to clean the carpets and sofas, well that was a huge understatement, the lodge should not be let out in that state, even has branches and moss going out of the gutters, the place had a nasty smell that could of been a number of things, both bathrooms had leaks from either the shower or toilet, thank god we took plenty of photos as nobody would believe this was let out in this condition, I must say the actual site was lovely and clean and some lovely people there, but this lodge should not be let out again it ruined our holiday we were all looking forward to."

  • "Fantastic property with plenty of space."

Certainly a 5 star rating if the small level of disrepair were taken care of and the cleaning more thorough. The extra facilities for entertainment such as xbox, board games, sky tv, Netflix, Youtube, dart board, ping pong and pool table were perfect to keep everyone entertained. A bit awkward not being able to quickly interchange between pool table, ping ping and dining table plus the table is a bit oversized for the space. The host, who lives next door, is a gentleman and very friendly. I would recommend and we are likely to return in the future.

The city of Chichester dates back to before Roman times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book as having 300 dwellings. Being the only city in West Sussex, it holds pride of place as the county town and with its magnificent 12th century cathedral and its fine Georgian shopping centre, it can truly claim to be a cultural and artistic experience for anyone visiting. Why not join one of the guided walking tours that will take you around Chichester and the city walls, or explore art galleries, museums, and historic houses or take in a show at the renowned Festival Theatre? Many exhibitions and events take place throughout the year, making this a wonderful place to visit. The Market Cross, given to the city in 1501 to provide shelter to those selling produce, is said to be the finest in Britain. Still a vibrant city, Chichester with its pedestrian shopping area, Victorian tea rooms, quaint antiques shops and continental restaurants, offers visitors a day of delights. For those who enjoy the sea and watersports, make for the popular seaside resorts of East and West Wittering and Bracklesham Bay which are just on the doorstep for family days out; so with everything from snorkelling and diving to cycling, long country walks and bird watching, Chichester is the perfect setting for anything from summer holidays to cosy winter breaks. Take a walk along the Chichester Canal to Chichester Yacht Basin and Marina and enjoy the spectacular of the yachts and boats. Add to this a bit of kayaking, golf and fishing, and there’s plenty to keep the whole family occupied all year round, all of which are made better thanks to Chichester’s ‘micro-climate’. Goodwood is home to several events each year, starting with its Festival of Speed, then into Glorious Goodwood and finally Goodwood Revival bringing visitors from home and abroad to watch, listen and cheer as horses or cars race or parade in front of thousands of spectators. Chichester, is a city of history and intrigue, culture and cuisine, theatres and art galleries. Lying between two areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the South Downs and Chichester Harbour – as well as other nature reserves, stunning beaches and dramatic coastline to the south making a spectacular variety of places to discover and an ideal place for a break to unwind and relax.
