  • "We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay in Timber Barn."

We had everything we needed to feed a family of 11 for the weekend. In fact I think this was the best stocked holiday rental kitchen I’ve ever seen! Very much appreciated. Only slight downside was the expectation to strip bed linen prior to leaving. For the cost of the stay this was a bit of a surprise. Other than that no complaints. Good comms from the owner prior to arrival. Would definitely recommend this venue for a large gathering. Thank you.

  • "Timber barn was a well equipped holiday home."

There was plenty of space for three generations to enjoy. Being in the middle of a working farm was a great experience for the children. It was a splendid base to discover the beautiful area. We would have liked an area outside that we could have gated off so the smaller children would have a safer space to play. We had a lovely holiday. Thank you

Very spacious, comfortable , clean and well equipped , on a working farm but very peaceful with lovely walks in the blackcurrant fields and tracks around the farm. The courtyard garden and hot tub provided plenty of space for five grandchildren to play and for us six adults to enjoy watching the fun they were having. Ziggi, who owns the barn is very welcoming , making sure we had everything we needed and telling us about good walks and birds and animals to watch out for It was one of the best places we have stayed for family celebrations , we will look forward to going to Timber Barn again .

  • "Ten of us (four couples and two adult singles) spent a very pleasant week here celebrating a special birthday."

There is plenty of room to be together and also plenty of capacity to hideaway for some quiet time. Timber Barn is well appointed and fitted-out. The hostess/owner lives close by on site - which is a working farm (so possibly not ideal for young children slthough this did not apply to us) - & she was very obliging about sorting out the few random queries that turned up. The venue is ideally tucked away and conveniently close for holiday site-seeing such as “the black & white villages” of the area, also Hereford, Ludlow and Hay on Wye …. Also good for a walk into the local village (itself historic and charming!). Thank you.

Plenty of room for everyone in our party of 11. It was lovely having two large living areas (a quiet room and the hub room in the kitchen). Hot tub was great, lovely walks, house was equipped with everything you need, beds were really comfortable and the bedrooms and en-suite’s were clean as was all of the barn. The tennis court was a favourite. Would definitely book again for another family trip.

The barn is very well equipped and with plenty of room and facilities for 12. • "I booked a week at Timber Barn for my wife's Birthday, and as a surprise arranged for our extended family to stay as well."

The property is huge, and easily swallowed all 10 of us, with plenty of kit for our cooking needs. Even in mid-February, the hot tub was enjoyed by many, and it even lights up at night (bring your cozzies to check it out!) The tennis court was also used several times, although some of us found out we weren't as young as we used to be! Although the property is on a working farm, the goings-on were not obtrusive, and didn't hinder our enjoyment, and once they had gone home for the day, the afternoons and evenings were so wonderfully quiet. We didn't explore the area too much as the break was really to spend time with family, but there is enough to do and see within short drives. If I had to be really picky (and I know that's why you read these reviews, right?) the only thing I would say is that some of the furniture was a little uncomfortable if seated for a long time, but it wasn't too much of an issue. We had a fabulous week at the barn, and would highly recommend a stay. Thanks Zigi.

My main issue was that the fridges weren't entirely clean when we arrived, noise travelled easily making the house pretty noisy and the host didn't provode enough toilet paper. That said, the rooms were warm and comfortable, the hot tub was stunning and we had a great time walking around the local area. I would stay again.

The owner was away for the weekend and the numbers in the help book wasn’t available basically telling us to Google it. A lovely man called Tom managed get to get the user manual by the time we done that, it was ready for us to use on the Sunday which most of the group had left by then, the house is stunning we even had a karaoke machine we bought with us and zigi didn’t mind, we hired the place for a week but only stayed for a long weekend ( the price was the same) we all had a relaxing time a lovely little get away

The hostess was lovely and willing to provide anything we may need. We all loved the hot tub and were very lucky that we had cold, crisp nights to see the stars while enjoying the lovely tub. It was warm, well equipped, spacious and affordable, we're just sorry we couldn't take advantage of staying longer but will factor that in for the future!! It was a really nice touch having a Christmas tree in one of the sitting rooms, the perfect background for our Secret Santa. Thank you also for the goodies you left for us (including dog biscuits... nice!) Despite the very chilly weather the hot tub was enjoyed by many of us, although the frost never managed to clear on the tennis court for it to be safe to use. Maybe next time! A couple of suggestions from the group: - offer What 3 Words for directions (we did this for our takeaway delivery), it's used by lots of people these days, gets round wordy directions and also fairly essential if needing emergency services. - the house manual could do with a make over. - maybe include a simple guide to using showers. These are just minor things. As you can probably tell we had a great time. Thank you, Annabel

We found the layout of the barn great as the open plan kitchen/ dining area and lounge meant we could all be together whilst some were preparing the meals. We never did go into the second reception room as there was no need. The king size beds were split into 2 singles so there were enough separate beds for us all. There were 11 of us with ages between 86 and 11. The only criticism is that as it's a dog friendly property it would be good to have an enclosed space to let the dogs out. I appreciate this is a working farm but the area by the hot tub could be fenced off to provide a small enclosed area. We were having to take the dog out on his lead in the pitch dark. Lovely and comfortable. Well equipped for a party of 12 with two exceptions - 1, it needed more freezer space for a large party staying over Christmas. Maybe not such an issue in warmer times but with shops (Morrisons) closed and not so local, and the need to stock up in advance, it was lacking and some produce went off. 2, The master bedroom was splendid, but was a bit wasted in some ways and could possibly have been split into 2 rooms. Hot tub was brilliant. We still had a wonderful family Christmas together. Thanks to our host Zigi and also Nicky

We had a very relaxed stay at the Timber Barn. Zigi was very helpful with directions before our arrival and was on hand if we needed anything, but we were largely unaware of there being anyone else around during our stay. We made good use of the tennis courts. Not so much the hot tub as it wasn't really our thing, but it was always available and seemed like a good one. The house was warm and we weren't lacking anything in the kitchen for big family meals. There is plenty of room to get some space if you need that. The property is perfect for a large group of family or friends because it has a very relaxed feel. The barn has been really nicely converted - more comfortable than most conversions I have been in - but if you were the type of person to like everything new and pristine, you might be disappointed. For us it was perfect. Spacious enough to spend time in together but homely and warm with everything you could need.

The only slight criticism is that we would have liked a larger, second fridge or possibly a separate, wine and drinks fridge. We made good use of the tennis court and hot tub and there are plenty of pleasant walks around and near the farm. The owner, Ziggi is absolutely delightful. She was always happy to chat when we saw her, usually when using the tennis court at the rear of the farmhouse. Her two red setters are very friendly and usually came to the garden gate for fussing, when we used the court. I am very happy to recommend this propery to others. We had previously stayed there 2 years ago so knew what to expect. However in that time nothing has changed and certain aspects are beginning to look a little tired. We did have one crisis with one of the young children locking herself in the toilet. Rather than key locks I would recommend that the owners arrange for bathroom and toilet doors to be fitted with the style of lock that can be opened from the outside in an emergency.

We were left bottles of wine on arrival which was a very nice touch and logs for the log burner. The log burner was not necessary as the under floor heating is very effective and we actually had to turn the thermostats right down despite it being the start of February. The hot tub was lovely, though a brisk run from the barn door as, as we understood the owners rotate hot tubs between guests and the one closest to the barn had recently been used and they had not had time to clean it, we used the one if the wooden outbuilding which is a little further away but not far. Points to mention; Unless you are looking out of the master bedroom window the outlook is into a working farmyard with views of utilitarian farm buildings rather than open fields, that's not clear from the listing. The nice sitting room with the yellow sofas shown in the listing is not the main sitting room, this adjoins the dining area and it pointedly not shown in the listing. The furniture in this area is a little mismatched, the chair seats a little saggy and the rug is clearly stained. The master bedroom is accessed directly by stairs from the smaller sitting room, with no door between which may bother some people. Overall we had a pleasant stay, just a few little things not quite as implied by the listing.

There is plenty to do in the area including visits to National Trust and other houses, gardens and castles, including Ludlow Castle, and several lovely walks within a few miles of Eardisland. We would certainly recommend this holiday property to others.

Lovely views across to the Welsh mountains especially from the master suite which my mum thoroughly enjoyed. Great location to explore the beautiful, surrounding area.Walked from the Barn to Eardisland to Pembridge and back, visited Ludlow and Croft Castle NT. We had an evening meal in the Cross Inn, Eardisland, which was good. Would highly recommend this Barn for a family get together, whatever the age.

We were 9 women artists so ideal for us in every way - facilities and location surrounded by “Ribena” fields! It would also suit a family gathering with different ages. Super master bedroom and one room perhaps for 2 children. Plenty of bathrooms and sitting areas. Super tennis court( we didn’t use ) Hig tub - we DID use! Great area for bird watchers - Kites, Buzzards, Kestrel, Song-thrush, Blackbird, House martins, Swallows, Sparrows Magpies, Redstarts, Dippers....and more. Lovely black and white villages nearby. Eardisland very close with village shop etc. Owner “Zigi” is on hand if you need her. One of the best holidays we’ve had as a group!

  • "Have just returned from Timber Barn with university friends to celebrate end of exams."

There was ten of us that stayed for seven nights and it was an absolutely great experience. The owner, Zigi, was lovely and attentive and everything was close to perfect. It’s a lovely quiet and private area, whilst still being very near the lovely village and there was still lots of things to do. We had a meal in The Cross Inn in Eardisland one night, which was very easy to book, even with our large party. Also days out such as West Midlands Safari Park, Small Breeds and Owl Sanctuary (about 15 mins away), and National Trust properties such as Berrington Hall and Croft Castle were very close and accessible which made the location of this stunning property perfect for a mixture of busy and a relaxing week. Beds were very comfy, and both living spaces met the large party size we had (although would stretch to seat more than ten in one room). Kitchen was brilliant for cooking for a large party and things like the hot tub and tennis courts added even more to this lovely property. Had an amazing time would definitely recommend Timber Barn and would definitely stay again.

The owners were very quick to help when we needed advice. We had a very restful week and the hot tub was a great hit. A couple of bottles of wine to welcome us was a hit too.
