"Had a great Autumn break here, very well situated to tour around the area and friendly and welcoming owners."
-
"Simon the property owner was so helpful."
He made sure that we had a wonderful holiday. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him Whether advising us on places to visit and how to get there, to being the wonderful hornet dispatcher.
-
"Absolutely love the place, cottage is so looked after and the owner is great."
Will interact with people if you want him to but doesn’t interfere at all. Very friendly would recommend anyone to stay here.
-
"Perfect!"
-
"Absolutely amazing stay, cottage is beautiful inside and out."
Nothing at all to fault, we will definitely be back.
-
"Great cottage, clean, lots of room, quiet."
Great place to stay while exploring Wye Valley & Bannau Brycheiniog. 10 minutes walk to village pubs. Friendly hosts. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

"Longside is a comfortable place to stay with good facilities."
It was in a great position for the places we wanted to visit.
-
"Thank you for a wonderful stay at Longside."
We were their visiting family in Talybont. The barn was extremely clean and very comfortable. We would be happy to book again in the future.
-
"We had a very good short holiday in this house."
We would now prefer that leave it at that and stop bothering us further. We object to this sort of interogation.
-
"Fantastic property, had everything that we needed."
There are lots of lovely walks literally straight from the property and the pub and shop are only 10 mins walk away. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.
-

-
"We returned to Longside this year after having a wonderful stay there last year."
We love the peaceful location and the beautiful grounds around Longside, we will return again. Simon was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit. Longside is very well equipped with every thing you would possibly need. The garden was a super relaxing place to relax in the sunshine. Excellant place to stay.
-
"Great property really quiet location Would very much have appreciated a folder of information about the property, fair we were told everything on arrival but it is difficult to retain all that information after a long drive."
Otherwise lovely property lovely area

"Longside Barn gave us just what we wanted."
It was ideally located to enjoy a beautiful piece of Wales, as well as a very relaxing place to stay.
-
"Lovely setting; very comfortable; friendly welcome; certainly to be recommended!"
-
"The host Simon was extremely helpful and always willing to help ."
The property was of a high standard and in a lovely quite location. The only slight improvement could be a dressing table and chair/stool in the bedrooms with a mirror . Would return again if we visit that part of the world which Iam sure we will !
-
"We had a lovely stay at this comfortable, well equipped cottage."
In peaceful surroundings yet not too far from a shop / pub, the owner welcomed us on arrival and made a few good suggestions of things to do in the area. Highly recommend a visit to Blaenavon and the Coal Mining Museum.
-
"Lovely property, very comfortable."
. would thoroughly recommend. Would have liked to have had a visitors book so we could read other people’s recommendation of places to go & eat etc. ( we had a fantastic meal at The Vine Tree after trying 2other places that were fully booked, fortunate for us as it happened)
-
"The property was brilliant, really comfortable, spacious, clean and well equipped."
We came as a couple but it would also be a great space for the family. The owner was really helpful and friendly. Perfect location as well. We'd stay here again.
-
"Fantastic property with everything you could possibly want and all very high standard."
The owner was on hand when needed and very helpful . Would 100% recommend it.
-
"This is a lovely property, I wish I could live there ."
Its in the perfect position for accessing everything in the brecons. I would recommend sleeping on the mezzanine if I had known I would have asked for the king size put up there, all the rooms are lovely but that area is fabulous. The proprietor can't do enough for you, I would love to go back.

"We had a fabulous holiday at Longside, the Barn Conversion was clean, modern and very comfortable."
The grounds are so spacious and the countryside views are amazing to us town dwellers. It was so quiet and peaceful and to sit in the garden was a joy. The owner had provided footballs and nets for those who wanted to use them as well as plenty of other games. We were left fresh milk, Welsh cakes and flowers. A short walk or drive down the narrow lane from the property led you to the centre of Gilwern with good pubs and local stores. We walked up to the top of Sugarloaf after parking in the National Trust car park. This area of Wales is a favorite for us and we will return to Longside I'm sure.
-
"Wow! What a gorgeous location."
The view from the front window is beautiful, and the outdoor space is fantastic. We had great fun making the most of the gardens & football nets. The pictures don’t do it justice! The property was immaculate, & the owner Simon was friendly & helpful. We were even greeted with flowers, milk & Welsh cakes, which was a nice touch. A fantastic place to stay to explore South Wales!

"Great cottage in a beautiful location."
Perfect hosts.
-
"A perfect holiday retreat - comfortable, quiet, spacious cottage, conveniently located for hiking activities (Sugar Loaf) and visiting pretty town of Crickhowell."
The pictures don't do it justice - there is a lovely view from the sitting room to the nearby mountain range. The only improvement we can think of would be... a dishwasher.
-
"This is a fantastic holiday cottage; it was spotlessly clean, well equiped and in a great location."
Simon, the owner was really friendly and helpful and everything was ready for us on our arrival. We would highly recommend this cottage.
-
"The listing of this property does not do it justice."
A stunning location with great facilities and wonderful host. The property and grounds are perfect for a family with children older than toddlers (only based on location of single beds). The host was wonderful and was around to help if needed and facilitated you enjoying your holiday to its full potential. We shall definitely be returning. A wonderful holiday had by all!!!
-
"Simon met us on arrival, and showed us the property which was spotlessly clean."
It is in an excellent location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. It is on a secure site in a quite location with shops and pubs within walking distance. We would revisit.
-
"Back home after a fantastic week at long side barn, beautiful accommodation combined with Fabulous September weather, very lucky."
This property is furnished to a high standard, very comfortable and highly recommended. The owners Simon and Alison are perfect hosts, very friendly and most helpful. Everything was Exactly as the photos on the booking couldn’t fault this property at all would definitely re book in the near future.
-
"We had a lovely relaxing time in a property that felt safe in this time of Covid."
The host Simon was very helpful during the week and was especially able to all us about local walks which we very much enjoyed, particularly on the mountains in this beautiful place. We are so pleased that Wales is now open for business.
-
"Great place to stay."
Owner on site and could not have been more helpful Really close to Brecon Beacons so ideal for walks Good quality accommodation- All you need for a good stay and plenty of space Great parking and security
-
"We loved the cottage however there was no Visitors Information when we arrived and as the owner was away for a couple of days we had to work a few things out for ourselves such as where the nearest shop was , how to walk to the village , where to put the rubbish etc ."
While we were there my elderly mother managed to fall out of the car and while she was fine to know where the nearest A and E dept was would have been useful .

"We had a lovely holiday at Longside."
The accommodation is the best we have stayed in. Very high spec and very well equipped. The surroundings are lovely especially with overlooking Sugar Loaf mountain which we climbed! The owners were very nice and helpful. The only thing I would say is that it would benefit from having a dishwasher as with having 5 people staying it mounted up quite quickly. Really good holiday. We will be returning at some point.
-
"An ideal location to tour South Wales."
The property was in very good order and the owner was most helpful when we arrived. Despite the weather we had an enjoyable week.
-
"A clean, comfortable cottage, giving easy access to the lovely surrounding countryside."
The owner, Steve, knows the area well and gave us good advice about local facilities.
-
"We would stay again at Longside if\when we are in the area ."
-

"The owner was very helpful and friendly."
Great place to go walking. The cottage was really well-equipped and may be the cleanest place we've ever stayed in: an absolute gem!
-
"Simon the owner was very helpful and available if we needed anything very enjoyable stay"
-
"Very useful location for us with access to biking and walking from the cottage or a short drive away."
Plenty to see and do in the area and local eating out facilities very good. Home from home facilities at the cottage and a very pleasant and successful week's stay. Thanks.
-
"Fantastic warm welcome from Simon showing us around the beautiful cottage."
Comfy beds and fab kitchen with useful shoe/coat storage area. Our children loved playing football in the garden and exploring the farmland. Fantastic location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. Would recommend Big Pit coal mine (free entry) and Sgwd-yr-Eira Waterfall where you can walk behind the actual falls....simply amazing! A brilliant holiday, loved by us all, we didn't want to leave.
-
"Friendly hosts, comfortable beds, easy parking, everything worked fine."
A great location for exploring around Abergavenny and into the Brecon Beacons.
-
"I was attracted by the mezzanine, not that I knew what it meant until I got there!"
When I saw the picture of the open plan upstairs, I knew my kids would love it and I wasn't wrong. Everything was as described and more. The blurb failed to mention the great owner Simon who is at hand to help with whatever is needed and fully accommodating. My children were allowed to make use of the bikes (as long as they wore the helmets!) and toy tractor and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. The view of Sugar Loaf mountain was beautiful - what a change from where we come from. We look forward to visiting again - thank you Simon!
-
"The cottage is very clean and furnished beautifully!"
Simon was exceedingly kind and helpful during our stay!
-
"We were made to feel welcome by our host and he was available to help with any enquiries or requests."
We were greeted with Welsh Cakes, a pint of milk and flowers which was a very homely touch which put a smile on our faces. We thoroughly enjoyed the Gilwern area and surrounds and would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting beautiful Wales.
-
"Absolutely loved staying here, felt like home."
-
"Very relaxing cottage."
It had everything we needed. We look forward to booking again in the future.
-
"Flowers on the table, Welsh cakes and milk in the fridge to welcome us."
A lovely, well equipped and beautifully furnished cottage. Set in a splendid location at the foot of the Brecon Beacons but with easy access to good roads this cottage would suit keen walkers or those just wanting to sit back and relax. The only minus point is that the wifi is very poor; not necessarily a bad thing for those wanting to get away from it all. ***Owners Response*** Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I can bow confirm that the WiFi issue has since been addressed
