  • "The Coach House The Coach House was very clean and well equipped."

The bedding was immaculate and the beds very comfortable. We did find, however, that because the glass in the picture window in the living room had no heat reflecting capabilities and there were no blinds, the window was facing the sun all afternoon and the property became uncomfortably hot, even with all the windows open, and stayed so all night. Perhaps blinds could be fitted or a fan provided? Our other small issue was outside lighting. On the first night the outside “up and down lights” on the property kept flicking on and off, all night, for no apparent reason. This wouldn’t have been a problem but for the fact that a light unit had been fitted directly underneath each bedroom window so they kept shining through the curtains. The second day we played with the unmarked switches by the door and it seemed to be better but there didn’t seem to be a way of just turning it off. Stable cottage, next door, and very close, though not visible in the photos or mentioned in the description, and had multiple outside LED lights. One of their floodlights was pointed at the bedroom on the one end of the Coach House and on the second night that was flashing on and off, again, all night for no apparent reason. It was like being next to a light house! Luckily it was off for the third and final night. It also had windows above and overlooking the bedroom so we felt obliged to keep the curtains shut all the time. I would have mentioned these minor points to the owners/manager but nobody met us on the first day or made contact during our stay. I fully appreciate some guests may not be bothered by these issues but we found it too warm and too bright at night. So overall, a lovely property in a great location but we wouldn’t return due to the aforementioned issues.

Thank you so much for your comments; we really appreciate the effort and time taken to leave feedback. We are thrilled with your comments about the bedding and beds as this was important to us when preparing The Coach House. We did deliberate about a blind for the large window; however, we did not wish to detract from the view and so a fan would be a useful addition. Thank you. We are glad you had some good weather on your visit! We shall label the lights in the hallway. One of them is indeed for the outside lights. However, they are motion sensored to provide lighting when guests are leaving or entering the property in the dark as we have no street lighting. We are unsure about your comment about the windows on Stable Cottage. There are skylights in the roof of Stable Cottage which are above head height and do not look onto The Coach House. We have removed some branches from Stable Cottage which it seems were triggering the motion sensor on their security lights. Again, thank you for highlighting this. We do not make a point of meeting our guests as many like to enjoy their own privacy; however, we often see guests when out and about. We are sorry we did not get a chance to meet you as we were taking our family holiday at the time of your stay. Again, can we say how much we appreciate you taking the time to leave these comments which will help us maintain a wonderful getaway for our guests. Property Owner
